Hi Steve, the installation on my FSX SP1 SP2 failed. Even a first cloud shadows deinstallation from the control panel and re-install failed again, see the alert below. Any advise? Wulf

HI Folks, This is my first post so hi everyone and Happy New Year, I would like to know if the sky effect I'm getting is related to DX10 or if I have a more in depth problem with FSX?, I've always had this effect in FSX DX10 so I know it's not caused by DX10 fixer problem, my problem is when I view aircraft from a control tower the sky is cut neatly in half by a band of high level clouds (not noticeable with just blue skies) also clouds around aircraft seem to be cut like an invisible ball around and following aircraft?, I get around problem by flying in cloudless weather if I wont to view aircraft from control tower, it's not present in DX9!, is this normal DX10 b…

Hello As you could see in the pictures (if I was able to paste them) there is a strange smoke effect - When the aircraft is rolling on some runway - When there is a fire as it might happen in some scenery The smoke is made of black squares Can you help ?

Hello All, I seem to be missing the option to tick install the DX10 lights package and DX10 compatible effects portion of my initial install of library. The only option the dialog box gives me to tick install is the DX10 compatible reflections. What am I missing? Any help or guidance before proceeding would be appreciated! Hello I am currently using DX10SceneryFixer_3_0_92. I have downloaded DX10SceneryFixer_3_3_103, but never installed it I wanted to see if an update was there and I got DX10SceneryFixer_4_0_125. My question is: Can I install DX10SceneryFixer_4_0_125 in skipping DX10SceneryFixer_3_3_103 If so, should I have to remove my current version and then install the new one? If not, can I install the DX10SceneryFixer_4_0_125 on my current DX10SceneryFixer_3_0_92 ? Thank you for your reply and your help! Alain Maneville Toulouse, France

I get an error message when running the Cloud Shadows 1.12 installer. It won't patch my Scenery Fixer (purchased through FSS.) error is: The installation did not complete successfully. Error details. Patching failed for file C:\SteveFx\DX10 Cloud Shadows\Cloud Patch5.dll (0) System Error Was 2. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to retry the installation, as suggested. No luck.I don't even know if Cloud Shadows was updated either. Thanks

There is a new 4.0 version available from the Fastspring website. This release has improved shadows improved effects fixes new legacy logic. many fog fixes for orbx sceneries On the legacy dialog the slider has now gone as the new fixer can distinguish fairly reliably between aircraft and scenery. You should find that legacy aircraft are displayed completely accurately ( 8 bit textures aside). Legacy night scenery should appear brighter and again be much more accurate. The only difference I can find with dx9 are a few aes lite buses and trains which though acceptable are not accurately lit. I have tried to send this update to t…

I'm unable to get the new Fixer (v3.5) from Flightsim Store so tried to download the latest version of Cloud Shadows to update it. However, the link that I was sent when I ordered it points to the new download at Fastspring but but it seems to be just waiting for the download to start and nothing else happens. Is there a problem with the site?

Hi Steve Actually i fly DX10 only with small GA Aircrafts. When i would fly with PMDG(737, 747...) i have a performance loose. Thats because of the contrails. PMDG 747 with their own contrails and 737/777 with VFX Contrails. All of them are hitting the system hard under DX10. Is there any chance to fly those beasts in DX10 without that big lost in performance and visuality? I have set to lights effect only. No heavy antialiasing settings(makes no different from 2x to 4x Grid) Whitout VC Shadow it is slight better but an overall lost in fps about -10fps. For some reason i have no probs with Majestic Dash and VFX. i7 2600k Geforce 1050TI …

Hi, What should the users do who bought the license from FlightSimStore (years ago) but now as they are going on liquidation sale - how will unlock my installer as it authenticates to FSS servers?. How do I get upgraded files to 3.5? FlightsimStore has 3.4 for download. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi and sorry for my poor english I do not know if this is the right place to ask this question, but I will try.I use DXFixer and everything works fine. However, I have a small issue that I can not deal with. On night flights in the virtual cockpit, looking forward, everything is fine, when I turn my head to the left or right, the view outside the window is very dark - basically nothing can be seen (clouds, land, etc.).Rather, it has nothing to do with the fixer but I did not find any information on this subject, so I made a point to ask in this forum Best regards Grzegorz

Hello Recently I have to reinstall my M10 OS and most of the programs where uninstaled. Now when I try to re-install DX10 scenery fixer, pop up a windows asking me for an activation key I cant find in my files. Can you tell me the mail address I have to look for? Hi Guys, I have DirectX 10 Preview enabled. In the aircraft (below) I can't see any scenery when looking out off the cockpit windows, only what looks like a thick fog. I have Steve's DX10 Fixer installed and have run it but that seem to make no difference. Can somebody please make any suggestions on how to correct this problem? Whilst the aircraft is loading I can see out of the cockpit windows, but immediately it has finished loading a veil drops down and the scenery is then non existent or obscured by this thick fog. Steve i have your fixer v 2.9 running in FSX and have a strange problem with ORBX YBCG at night on the apron. With DX10 on i am getting a dark tarmac as well as my own A/C not lighting up even though the lights are on ? other static A/C are okay along with some of the tarmac items , stairs trolleys etc. With DX10 off there is no problem and everything lights up as it should ? Hi all, I did have fixer and clouds working previous to a catastrophic loss of every file in every folder of my fsx:se. I have no idea what happened as all my other steam games folders are intact - it was just the fsx:se folder that lost all its files leaving just the folder structure. So having reinstalled from Steam I set about reinstalling all my addons - orbx scenery mainly and a couple of bought aircraft. Then I tried to install DX10Fixer and Clouds. There initially seemed to be a problem writing files so I uninstalled and then went through the process again. Hi Steve, there is a problem with the DX10Controller.exe file, downloaded within the fixer 3.4 version (Filghtsimstore.com): The antivirus tool AVIRA diagnostics a prob "HEUR/APC (Cloud)" within this file and therefore cuts and posts this file into the antivirus-tool quarantine zone. A relocation later from there to the original file location in the DX10SceneryFixer folder is not possible due to several folder security restrictions from the author. So I have installed the DX10 fixer but I can not use the controller. How to get rid of this "HEUR/APC (Cloud)" prob? A complete fixer+clouds reinstallation did not help. I think an AVIRA switch off is not good.... W…

Hello there Avsim/Scenery Fixer Forum. Initially I posted straight to Avsim, and was directed here to try to find some help. Hope someone can shed some light on this frustrating glitch. Now onto my issue. I get this what I'm assuming is a weird glitch. Even with the DX10 Scenery Fixer installed(v3.4) it happens. The sun textures seem to either be missing or not register or whatever you wanna call it, only when I'm in DX10 and enable Light bloom from FSX options. The sun seems to loose it's rays, or corona and looks plain bad. If I turn light bloom off, the sun looks like it's supposed to, but obviously I loose the bloom effect. Hi there, now I am using the brandnew Captain Sim 757 for FSX, released some weeks.before...There is also the same problem with shadows in the cockpit, like the old Level D 767 mentioned here months before... If I look to right or left in the virtual cockpit all shadows are there and looking really fantastic. They disappear if I look straight to the panel or perhaps in an angel of 30 degrees to the panel....this is a new aircraft, so I assume that the shadows would work with this plane.....any suggestions ? Shadows in Aerosoft A319, PMDGs 777 and 737, Qualitywings 787 are working and looking fine.....it s always the 757/767 :-) not working correct ... …

I've been having a tough time trying to configure a reinstall of v3.4. The path to FSX (boxed) doesn't show and I can't type it in. I found this old thread about the same problem with v2.11. The fix by deleting the DX10.ini file works when using v3.4 also.
