  1. RENTON, Wash., Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) Boeing today released photographs of its latest revolutionary cockpit design initiative. Mr Dick Doofus McBellend of Boeing's elite cockpit design division admits being inspired by Microsoft's new simulator game, Microsoft FLIGHT.Mr McBellend adds, "Airline Captains, which research shows are getting dumber by the year, are in in dire need of a simpler way in which to interface with the aircraft.Traditional yoke & throttle pedestals will be replaced with dual shock Xbox 360 controllers. 3. OK, don't ask me why, but...woke up to go to work, and this thought pops in my head out of nowhere. Not hard as my wife always tells me that what lies between my ears is litterally "nowhere" :Just Kidding:Flight--designed for the masses? Brings new people into a sort of sim (I'm guessing, Flight has not been released yet)P3D-- MS sells the code for FSX, P3D team developes it further, tweaks the code etc for commercial use only.P3D guy says-- "hey" lets market this to the people on the sim forums. We don't need to sell it to them, we will lease it affordably. Other P3D guy says--...hmmm, I wonder how MS will feel about that? 1st P3D guys says,-- "lets ask"Emails are sent, …

Given the amount of childish, offensive abusive posts hurled at Microsoft and the Flight team in this forum, does anyone think that Microsoft is going to take this community seriously? Life is too short for it to try and filter out the rubbish - it will ignore it all. Such posts are simply counter-productive and will achieve nothing useful.

I remember seeing the moderator of Avsim standing up publicly and loudly about some inapropriate talking about third party developpers companies or even Xplane or Perpar and other related stuff.I want to attract their attention about the propagating insulting symbol "M$" in this forum. The fact that some uneducated kids don't know anything about business and have grown up with the pirate bay does not excuse the use of the symbol "M$" to designate a serious company as Microsoft. Especially considering the fact that the whole community has grown from the work of "M$" and that Avsim and 3p developpers earn their living on the beast. The very same people using that terminology …

Just a thought, instead of griping about Flight here why don't we take our issues directly to Microsoft? I don't buy into the fact that we are as irrelevant as some may have you believe and I this is not about getting them to change Flight but rather raise some attention that this is the wrong course for this franchise. Nothing can be done about Flight but with enough voices they would at least know there's a large number of people who care enough about the legacy of the franchise to not let it die quietly. We have alternatives like FS9, FSX, XPlane 11 (10 may be a wash unless 3rd party steps in big time) to name a few. Area sims don't matter as much as the sims that…

I've been looking at Aerofly FS. But too much is missing, even more then is missing from MS Flight. I mean, you can jump into a C172 and climb to FL200 with 1000fpm without any problems... I really don't think you can do that in MS Flight. From what I have heard MS Flight has more sim possibilities then Aerofly FS, which in fact is nothing but a RC flying sim, but now you can sit in that little plane and fly around in a (nice looking) toy world.I've been looking at P3D. I even tried it. It couldn't compete with my manually tweaked version of FSX. Maybe if I tweaked P3D I could get it run a little bit better then FSX, but for 10 bucks a month...? Plus all those side by sid…

Crude humor and mild violence ??? WHERE ? The Crude humour must be that joke is on the more serious flight simmer. ? The mild (or not so mild) Violence must be the way the more serious flight simmer feel about FLIGHT ? Or is the mild violence due to the pilot of the Stearman (Don Quixote) attacking windmills that he believes to be ferocious giants. ?

  15. I play other sims (ie: Armed Assault 2 ; Silent Hunter 4 etc.).Armed Assault has nowhere near the number of players (or sales for that matter) that the fast action FPS's such as Call of Duty and Modern Warfare garner. This is MS's target market. Fast action , low learning curve , immediate gratification. That's where the money is.That's where they'll potentially sell hundreds of thousands of games and after market products as well. And after all , for MS and other gaming companies , the $$'s are what they're after.I put my money into X-Plane 10 for a number of reasons but primarily because X-Plane 10 (and Armed Assault 2 for that matter) are more a labour of love and are con…

Hello, beyond CES life goes on but for us simmers still there are questions whirling around unanswered. First off, I see here many saying that MS considering us as a small group of aviation simulator enthusiasts. I never understood this opinion. If we are a small group then how come MS kept this franschise for more than 20 years? This moaning keeps going since FSX was released, and with FS2004 too. I'm sorry, but I dont accept that we are a minority. Now, we are coming to what is after CES. For me the field still is foggy. No official announcements. Total blurred. The question is why? There are some indications hovering above us, that actually things are not as they seem to…

I've spend months and months and MONTHS on tweaking to get FSX running a bit well. I remember posting at one time that I wished FSX couldn't be tweaked because it can be tiresome and complicated and frustrating. The idea of not being able to change anything and to simply enjoy (or not) what you have sounds very relaxed. Even when things are pretty ok, you have the idea more should or may be possible, and there you go, tweaking again...Well, seems I am getting what I wanted with MS Flight. :( Afaik it can't be tweaked and it isn't necessary either. Rejoice!!!

For anyone that hasn't seen it yet, I think MS have done a really good job with the autogen in Flight. Forests absolutely packed full of trees, and without the horrible popping up out of nowhere you get in fsx. Thats even on a fairly modest computer... So i've heard :wink:FSX would be awesome with Flight's autogen/performance.

The year is 2035 and you turn on your home media system to watch a Just Planes Boeingbus flight video when the Captain says he was inspired to learn how to manage the planes computer after playing MS Flight as a kid (then the First Manager jumps in with a joke about his gold coin high score and xp points). Yikes!

Eulogy to MS FlightI met a traveller from an antique landWho said: A vast business plan laid in stoneStands in the desert. Near it, on the sand,Half sunk, a shattered Xbox console lies, whose lone,And darkened screen, and tossed controller command,Tell that its developer ill those passions readWhich yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,The legacy that mocked them and the heart that fled:And on the pedestal these words appear:"My name is MS Flight, King of Sims:Look upon my lack of add-ons, ye Mighty, and despair!"Nothing beside remains. Round the decayOf that colossal wreck, boundless and bareThe lone and level sands stretch far away...- Ozzie.

I like the idea that all addons for MS Flight will come through the store. This way reinstalling everything will be immensely simplified! Right now whenever I (re)install something I have to deal with loads of downloads, zips, rars, exe's, wrappers, updates, patches, patches for patches, and loads of serials, codes, usernames, passwords, ordernumbers, orderdates, various completely different activation procedures and whatnot... No more with MS Flight: one store, one login, one install procedure! I think I am going love it! :(
