It that time of the year that I put my system through its paces and OC the CPU to 5ghz, the GTX 780 by a couple of hundred Mhz and get my 2400mhz CL9 to CL8. How do I do this? I put the entire system in natures fridge. I will point out that I have only done this once before but for a good 6 months so despite the appreciated cautions and warning from people who know far more about computer hardware than I do I am emboldened to do it again! I case you haven't figured out whats about to happen I am going to put my system that cost the best part of $4000 outside in the cold. Anyway I first this last year to put the squeeze on FSX and frankly it worked. All other t…

Would someone who has access to the Orbx forums post the latest product release schedule here please? The last one I got had Half Moon Bay scheduled for July 2013 and San Carlos for 2014. Also More FTX West Coast and Alaska stuff from Holger and team for 2015. I know a very old one I saw before I became persona non grata at Orbx had the Southern Rocky Mountains on the schedule but I forgot when it was due. Noel

Was going to post this in the specific hardware forum for CPU's but thought that since this was a P3D related question I would post here instead. I have a pretty beefy PC in terms of: 2 x ATI R970X GPU's 16gb Ram SSD HDD's However I am pretty sure all that power is hitting a bottleneck with a weedy CPU which I believe is an intel ARK G2030. Believe it or not I can get a resonable performance from P3D with the majority of sliders dropped down low. For me graphics are one thing but smoothness is more of a concern and I would like to use some photo scenery. I want to change the CPU and the obvious choice is an i7 CPU overclocked. I am happy to do this…

So I just bought P3D and am currently downloading. I'll install later and give this a try on my somewhat "old" system. Hoping to run at least smooth with visuals comparable to FSX now. Would be really nice to get to throw in cloud shadows. Anything above that would be icing on the cake. Anyway, I'll post my experience later then for any of you still out there that are curious how it'd run on a system similar to mine. I have an i5 2500k(OC'd to 4.2>), GTX 560Ti 1G, 8G RAM on Win7 64-bit. Fingers crossed...hoping this doesn't lead me to "need" to upgrade my hardware prior to the planned 1Q2015 that I have now. It wasn't really a 'if' I got P3D but just a …

Hi guys I am using a cockpit so all my flights in windowed mode (with undocked panels), and I am using the Robin P3D v2.3 beta 2 NVI settings. so, the quistion is : it is important to add the ForceWindowedVsync=1 in the GRAPHICS tap in the Prepar3D.cfg ???? As it was important in FSX !!!!! Hope I get the help because the Cockpit with this huge number of undocked panels is so sensitive to these settings. THX.

I have seen others complain of something like this but haven't seen a fix for it... probably it's 'operator error' but I have the problem and need help. I find that the manual for Pro ATC/X seems to be very good at setting up options and adding aircraft, generating flight plans, and all of that but one I select a flight plan and click "Fly now", all I ever get is the welcome message and not a thing after... Is there a setting or perhaps a keyboard command I'm missing? I just bought this today so I have the most recent version and am using P3D v2. Thanks folks!

Hi, I have just discovered, to my shame, that I have been deluding myself by believing that my Notebook's monitor was correctly calibrated. Prepar3D is impressive to look at, but today I can announce/confirm that it is gob-smackingly spectacularly beautiful when viewed under the right conditions! For some time now I have been calibrating my M18x Notebook's 18.4" monitor using X-Rite's ColorMunki Photo. Actually, I confess I don't recalibrate as often as perhaps I should. Indeed, the last time I bothered was before Prepar3D v2.0 was released :( This state would have continued had there not been an unexpected development following the last driver update to 344.65. …

It may be too early to speculate, but I was wondering what opinions might be had about the usefulness of the upcoming 8Gb models over the present 4Gb ones in Prepar3d. I'm guessing it may be down to single vs multi monitor use.

OrbX has released the triple installer of iconic KORS as today, and free of charge (thanks OrbX !) if you already own the FSX version.

I still prefer water in FSX over P3D V2. At an altitude the P3D V2 water is dead..static.during overcast condition. Even at its maximum setting, using all kinds of REX textures...Its like flying over a piece of cloth laid out. DEAD DEAD DEAD! Any way around this?

Since a complete reinstall of FSX and Orbx North American sceneries a couple weeks ago I have had nothing but trouble with Vector. The elevation problems with Seattle and Palm Springs were fixed but new ones keep cropping up. One of my big complaints when Vector first came out was the complete absence of the Pelly River in the Yukon. That's been fixed with update 2 but now the terrain around Faro is all messed up with streams and rivers in canyons and lakes in deep craters where they are supposed to be in a broad rather flat valley. The Faro Airport and the lake beside it is also in a crater of sorts. Now maybe my system is at fault, I don't know, but I pref…

Well that ended poorly.... :/ Went to update Prepar3D from 2.3 to 2.4, let the installer do it's thing then walked away for a few minutes and when I came back AVG had this to say about the install it just did. It proceeded to remove the Prepar3d.exe along with about a half a dozen OCX and DLL files across my PC. No virus detected in the installer package so I guess this bug was just waiting for the right action to spring the trap. Wow it wiped out my Prepar3D, two of my voice packs for VoxATC, several OCX files in the System64 directory... I like how AVG didn't even ask me it just said DO IT! -_- Well... guess I'll be spending HOURS installing 18 add-on …

I got PrecipitFX rain and snow effects working and they look amazing!!! I know they are making a P3dv2 version, and I will gladly buy it when they release it but after flying in FSX with the great snow effects of PrecipitFX I couldn't stand to deal with P3d's horrid stock ones so using EMT I installed the precipitation effects and I cant get over how great they look compared to stock. They look real and the best part is no more cone effect when flying in rain or snow. Enjoy the screens PA-46 taking off from PAJN Light snow. Moderate.

Hi All, Thinking about purchasing Carenado's CT182T Skylane G1000 HD Series for use in P3D v2.4. It only specifies on the Carenado website that it works with Prepar3D but not which version. Also, in the FlightSimStore it says compatibility with P3D v1: Compatibility: FSX, Prepar3D v1 http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?currency=EUR&products_id=2179&osCsid=if9je5jbvc0hrr92g2uimkcu81 Anyone know if it will work in v2.4? Thanks, Steve
