I'm running the 7 day free trial of Simtouch Plus 2. It's a program to put instrument and control panels onto another monitor which can be either a touchscreen or not. I'm using a small monitor and the mouse. The controls are sort of static so it's OK there but it would be a lot better if it were specific to each aircraft instead of so generalized. However, the map feature is great! It incorporates Bing maps including satellite imagery. It's a moving map that is centered on your aircraft. Now, if they were to include a flight planner that used that map feature, this would be a killer application!

If so do you recommend it at $57.64? I already have FScene4x and wonder if it would be a worth while improvement. I have only recently started flying to South America and Europe. There doesn't seem to be any photo real of large areas of Latin America to be found and am wanting a more realistic view of the Andes and Brazilian jungles as well as Central America. Do you need the FTX Vector to go with it which would increase the expenditure? Thanks in advance for any advice or comments.

Hi everyone I've been using FSX DX10 for the last year or so and i think i'm gonna try Prepar3d, so i know its been beat to death. and i tried a search but found separate topics can you guys tell me in a nutshell whats involved and what i will need and wont need from FSX i have all the popular add on's. i.e rex4, activesky, EZDOK, FSUIPC, ect ect and some payware airports along with orbix global and so on now i realize will have to port some of those over and some of them work in Prepar3d as well And most important how does LAS VEGAS look in Prepar3d ( my fav airport ) so will i need EZDOK and FSUIPC ans whatnot, i'm looking for some basic i…

Let me start off by saying that if the program lived up to what the developer wanted it to be, according to the website, it would be GREAT! It sort of comes close in P3D but, I've had issues and no response yet from the developer about them. When flying the Lear 45, the "instructor" absolutely insists that autopilot fly the airplane from wheels up until wheels down... that's simply silly. If I connect to FSFlying School during a flight, the "instructor" may or may not properly recognize what is enabled in the aircraft and start insisting that some function or light be switched on or off...no amount of changing the switch position will change that such as "your…

So in FSX, SweetFX was a must have for me. But, I find myself liking the way P3D looks out the box. Has anyone experimented with SweetFX and come across a tweak that they prefer? Regards

During a weekend flight(LGTS to EDDB), I found out, that the tower view of my departure airport (LGTS) was still in the view section (I was already 600nm away) and also my VAS was at 2.3GB. After a reload of P3dv2, the tower view (LGTS) was away and the VAS at 1.3GB. Could that be a memory leak? Can some one confirm this?

I`m uninstalling P3D to upgrade and was just looking through the registry and had a little surprise. Hi all. I have both orbx global and vector and they look awesome. But I have a problem. When I installed the vector, the roads are messed up. For example; Any ideas about that what do I have to do?

I started P3D up last night for the first time in a month and performance is horrible. Stutters, low FPS, and super high CPU usage. I deleted the shaders and p3d.cfg but it didn't help lowering the settings helps some but no matter what I set things at and even if I limit frames p3d uses 99% of my Cpu while only using 20% of my GPU what has happend??? Before I could run max autogen,scenery,effects meduim shadows ect and still get 30-40 FPS now with everything turned off I get about 30-40 where it would have been over 100FPS before. For some reason, I can't get AI aircraft to show up as parked when booting up P3D in VHHH (stock scenery). However, AI aircraft will land and park as expected, and after a while those same aircraft will depart VHHH. I somehow just can't get VHHH to load with AI aircraft already parked (so the airport is empty). I tried the same with Taxi2Gate's new VHHH scenery and it's still a problem! I don't have any other Hong Kong scenery installed. Help!

Hi folks, I mentioned this briefly within the screenshots thread, but it's proper place is in a new thread here, so here we go. I bought P3D 2.4 at the weekend and although I was able to see all the great features, such as the lighting and shadows and non-popping autogen, I had a problem with AA/AF that was so big, I ended up uninstalling P3D 2.4 by the end of the weekend. I was wondering if anyone was able to help with this; So P3D 2.4 was running great in terms of performance, frames, etc, even at high settings. But I noticed that my Anti-Aliasing was looking awful. I have two simulators on my 500GB soilid state hard drive, FSX and Microsoft Train Simulator. I have about 120GB or about 24% of free space left. Looking ahead to FTX Norway and Southern California if they ever appear plus other addons I may want I am wondering how much free space I should leave on the SSD. Noel

Hi all. With the recent sale at FlightSimStore.com, I bought several more ORBX PNW packages, all of which looked great. KORS is fantastic and as good on framerates as 3W5 and 1S2, but it seems like Harvey Field and Jefferson County just destroy my framerates. I'm seeing as low as 8-12 FPS, even with a high-end system that runs the rest of the PNW region airports perfectly. Jefferson is exceptionally bad; even though the airport is very simple and even after turning off some of the extra "eye candy," flying within a ten mile radius of it is like watching a slideshow. So I guess this appiles to FSX too but i use P3D V2. I have found that setting the affinity of programs that run along side P3D V2 to use core 1,2 and 3 only gives slightly better performance. However it is a pain to use the task manager to set the affinity of each program each time I run the sim. I have already figured out how to permanently assign an affinity Mask to a program but I am having difficulty with programs that are launched by exe.xml Setting the affinity permanently involves editing the Target field in the properties of the programs shortcut like so. I was curious where the best place to look would be for operating the various native aircraft available in P3D. I decided to try taking a P-51 out for a spin and promptly killed the engine... I'm not sure what I didn't do properly (probably something to do with oil or coolant) but it got me to thinking that good reference material would be nice to have. A repository of all of them would be great if it exists.

Hello everyone. So, I am with FSX but was wondering if to move over to Prepar3d and I have a few questions. I am new at this, so please bare with me. Does Prepar3d uses all CPU cores? Will I need to tweak here and there like with FSX? Why Should I move to Prepar3d? What's better? Can I use all add-ons on this new Platform? Like PMDG, Aerosoft? I know this comes up from time to time, but I was wondering what the most up-to-date AI traffic offerings are that work with P3d. I have "My Traffic 2013" but just wondering if there is something 'newer' and better.

So I purchased this beautiful airport a few days ago, just to find out that performance is horrible, even on a modern rig and the best thing is, it seems I can't do anything about it. I load up the PMDG777 at RWY16 at night, with absolutely 0% traffic of all sorts, gives me around 24fps. Trying to gain better performance, I followed the guide that's described in the manual, setting autogen from very dense to normal and even turned down scenery settings in the YMML config panel (Levels 3 and 4). Result: a whopping 1fps gain. Since I want my sim to be realistic, I only fly with AI traffic. You can only imagine it is impossible to enjoy this scenery with traffic enabled.…

Hi, has anybody tried to install Paulo Ricardo's Mega Route Rio or Mega Sao Paulo into Prepar3d v2? Does it work? They are currently on sales at simmarket and I would like to know if they work in Prepar3d v2 before purchasing them. Thanks!

After installing the QW 757 earlier, my sim crashes as soon as any flight loads. I can use the start-up screen fine, the flight loads to 100%, then after the cockpit is displayed I get a CTD. I uninstalled this add-on, but it still crashes. I deleted the P3D.cfg but this still didn't fix it. I don't believe the QW 757 is the problem, but it does look that way as this started after installing it. I'm using version 2.3 by the way. Any ideas?
