I'm finding that lots of regional airports in PNW and Orbx England, too, simply have radio traffic, with no dedicated ATC. It gives these airports the feeling of ghost towns, despite having several concrete runways, large control towers and scheduled services. Can anything be done? A simple line of code or something, to tell FSX that a particular airport DOES have ATC... ?

Hi guys, I'm running a multi-monitor setup with the main simulation window or one screen, and two other screens for instruments. I place the two MFDs from the Dash 8 on one screen right in front of me, and the CDU on a separate touchscreen. My big challenge this Christmas is how to do this automatically. I understand that this is not straightforward, but I would think it should be possible using autohotkey and simply scripting a few mouse macros. However, I cannot get this to work! No matter what kind of mouse commands I send nothing seems to happen. I have seen the mouse move around, but it appears that the mouse clicks I never sent to the simulator. Is there…

Hi, yesterday I installed P3D V2.4 for the first time, coming from FSX. After I installed the Aerosoft A318/A319 (P3D Version) I tried it but almost every display was black and some of the MCDU options are disabled. You can see it in the screenshot. The PMDG 737 NGX is even worse as nothing in the cockpit works. Please help

Hi everyone. In short, I’ve decided to give P3D a go and want a new PC to run it on. I can fly planes but know very little about computers and I have a good friend who knows computers but not flight sims. So, what I’m after is the piece in the middle of someone who can tell me what I need to ask my friend to build for me please plus any advice or info he may need to know. Hello On past saturday I have ordered FTX global on Flightsim Store site. The problem is I still didn't receive any confirming e-mail, no download links are avalable at my account. i can see that money were written of from my card account. Hi all, I have been a P3D v2.x dabbler for a year or so now but 2.4 is the first version where I feel that I am comfortable using it more for everyday use than my trusty FSX installation. A few questions: 1) Although it seems better in 2.4, there is still a slight lag in the scenery rendering giving a little bit of jerky appearance now and again. This was fixed with the 1/2 refresh rate fix in FSX. I know it doesn't work in P3D because its not true full-screen. Do we have any word on either LM or Nvidia doing something to get 1/2 refresh rate working in P3D? 2) FPS killers - A list? Post patch to 2.4 I have noticed that my runway and taxiway lights at airports, addon and default, disappear as I approach. They appear and disappear as I pan the view while sitting on the runway as well. I have tried changing drivers, 344.75 back to 338.77, but that did not work. After searching, I have found that others had this same problem while using FSX DX10. No solution was posted. A post was made at LM but again, no solution posted. Any ideas?

Hey all, today I received FSX: Gold in the mail, but recently I've been leaning towards P3D as my simulator of choice. I was wondering if the FSX Migrator tool works if FSX has yet to be installed. Obviously if the addon is P3D compatible out of the box, I'm good to go. That said, there are many addons that aren't immediately P3D compatible and need to be passed through the migrator tool. Is this possible if I have yet to install FSX? I'd like to keep my drive as clean as possible, so if I do decide to go with P3D I'd like to install it off the bat and wait on FSX until later (if at all). On the other hand, if I opt for FSX (at least initially) this is moot,…

UTX tropical America causes an issue with a floating hill top in Taxi2Gate MMMX. Since recently purchasing ORBX GLOBEL I was wondering if UTX really adds anything anyway. I have AS2012 for textures. This is the only add on airport I have detected any issue with and turning UTX off solves the issue.

So...... having made 'the leap of faith' from FSX several months ago, studiously re-installing everything bar the kitchen sink (much to the annoyance of SWMBO who is still waiting for the real thing), and religiously following and acting upon ALL of the sage advice (gleaned and garnered from every nook, niche and cranny of this illustrious site of ours) to the absolute letter - I am now the proud owner of an up-to-date, fps-friendly, perfectly stable, beautifully-lit (thanks Rob A.) It's either Accu-Feel or Hawaiian Airports I'm pretty sure since I've yet to have an OOM including full x-country flights in P3D 2.2 until I installed these two apps just in the past week. Now it's a regular occurrence, and I'm nowhere near Hawaii for these events.

Hello everyone. Posted this over on the LM site with no help. Thought I would try here. Before I explain, the system was running perfectly until I did a fresh install of OS (Win7) and P3Dv2.4. Here is what is happening: Software runs fine until I add OpusFSI. When I execute the Opus server during the p3d startup scenario screen, P3D locks up and crashes to desktop. It ONLY happens when I have “live cameras” option checked in OpusFSI config. So, apparently p3d does not like it when Opus tries to connect with p3d via simconnect. Couple of things to note: Opus is the FIRST add-on I installed after a clean installation. All default settings are used in p3d. If I launc…

My default situation panel state is ready to start engines. When I try to load this same plan saved in flight planner, the plane is now moving forward with engines at full throttle, whereas the first time I load the newly created & save plan engines are off. Am I doing something wrong, or is the a bug in P3D 2.3? Thanks!

Hi Guys, there is probably a simple answer for this but I haven't found it yet. two things I would like to do, every time I sit in the cockpit I need to adjust my seat position to get the right view, although i can do this quite easily, I would like to "save" the position so I don't need to do it every time. The other thing I would like to know is, as a VFR flyer, I like to have a peek out the side window to make evaluations etc. I have this assigned to the hat button on my saitek yoke, which works well, however is there a way to quickly reset the view back to center? I find it a bit difficult to get the view back straight fast enough using the toggle and it throw…

There are addons that will import the latest and greatest airport data for use in things like flight planning but, does it actually update the program's information and affect the NAV radio functions. For instance, the current frequency for the ILS system at KRNO is 109.9 but, P3D has it as 110.9. Using the current frequency then will not correlate to P3D properly and using the current frequency will not give you any valid ILS information...you have to tune the NAV radio to what P3D has in order to use ILS at all. The other problem is that P3D shows ILS only for one runway at KRNO (16L) when, in fact, ILS seems to have been installed for two runways now...34R and 16…

I've tried various things to get a glide slope indication on the HSI in the King Air 350 but, it just ain't happening for me. Does it even have that feature? I'm not too good yet at visual approaches when it comes to the glide slope and a gauge would certainly be nice if I can find a way to get it.

Hello all I love orbx global, but there is one thing very odd. It shows at some points on the ground snow texture, while, for the last 2 years, it hasn't snowed at all. Is this because of the season setting in fsx? Or deeper coded somewhere?? Any advice? Cause it looks, well. Stupid.. Vjr Victor

Hi, I would like to order the wonderful Isle of Man but I do not know how should I install it. I've already found an installation instruction, but you have replace some of the core prepar3d-files like the default.xml. I compared the one ES provides with the one I have with Orbx FTX (GB + Irland) enabled. And I have the impression that they overlap. So I would like to ask you if any of you successfully managed to istall Isle of Man into Prepar3d v2.4. Btw. I do not have FSX anymore. Best regards Michael
