I am unable to use any of the TDS B787s (-3 is my favorite) in P3D V2.0 or 2.1. V2.0 would CTD when selecting the aircraft. V2.1 doesn't CTD, but all it displays is a phantom (no aircraft visible), then CTDs when trying to do anything (i.e. start engines..) I have verified that all of the special gauges are in the panel.cfg file and the gauges, effects and .CAB files are in their respective directories. This has me baffled simply because I have other POSKY (B757), SkySpirit (B767) and TDS (B737) aircraft that I have no problems with. I have a clean install of V2.1 with no addon sceneries. Good morning, I'm getting started with P3d and its awesome, got cls 747 classic, quality wings 757 and the avro and my aerosim 777 and 747, my ftx global and rex td all working fine. But the simmersky package are working perfect, during installation i put my keys, the installer not detected fsx but i was able to choose p3d install folder all went fine. But vc are not clickable, nothing. The 2d panel is perfect. It can be a p3d bug or a product fault i dont know. Any one with this problem with this package or the same problem with other planes? Hi All: I have not flown my p3d in about 2 months. I just installed a new SSD drive and moved all p3d files to it, then changed my drive letters. p3d runs well, but It takes a long time to load the initial start up screen, where you can create and load saved flights. I see the cpu at around 12%. it takes around 75 seconds to finally start, when in the past it was around 30 seconds. I do not think it has anything to do with the SSD but something that may have changed on my system in the past 2 months ( I cant imagine what, but I did install the latest AMD video drivers), or heaven forbid something is corrupted in p3d. I didn't know whether to tack this onto the end of Falcon 164 post about not running at all, or start a new topic. I'm having the same problem, except with 2.3. I suspect it is MyTraffic related, but I'm not sure. ( I know ... I should have waited for the v2 installer.) It'll sound like a newbie question, even though I'm definitely not new ... (quite the contrary.) But I wanted to take advantage of the situation to do a complete uninstall and update to 2.4. So my question, what is meant by a complete uninstall and clean installation of 2.4? Do I have to uninstall all the ORBX scenery before proceeding? How about aircraft I have added? Textures seem to be cleared from VRAM when not in view, then when I go to look around I get black textures until they load in a couple of seconds later. This is really immersion breaking. I haven't seen anyone else mention this which is really surprising to me. I get this even when P3D is only using around 2GB of my 3GB of VRAM so I don't believe it has to do with running low on VRAM.

Hello everyone! A few weeks ago i happened upon a youtube video of P3D with ORBX installed, and i caught the bug again. So i bought P3D Academic and installed last night. What should i do first when it comes to tweaks? Should i run the cfg through Bojetes' tweak tool? Or is there a tweak tool especially for P3D now? This rig ran FSX pretty well, and has even more system RAM now than it did when i was still running FSX. How about freeware? What would you consider to be "must haves" (im a prop/bush guy)

I just installed the Milviz P3D V2 upgrade for P3D V2.4 and I am happy to report that the aircraft looks great in this sim. It also flies really well and seems to perform really well. I will try some point to point flights with it and if I can do that without any OOMs, I'll be a very happy dude! Lee

I'm thinking about buying the ORBX global products. The only thing that's keeping me from doing it is misplaced airports in the vector product. It can't help but provide thousands of airports in wrong places due to correcting the ocean, lake and river shore lines. There will be airports in water. There will be float ports on land. All over the globe unless part of the program is the repositioning of many airports and float ports. I looked at the web site and saw nothing about this. Does anybody here have any information? Has this been corrected in the program or not? I'd like to find out before spending any money. Thank you for any help.

Hi all- I think I installed this correctly. When I open the Soft Cloud app, I get an instant error. Does this need to be installed into the same directory as Texture Direct (which I have) in order to work correctly? Thanks, Mark

Looking for a old school prop- liner to use in P3d. Considering JustFlight's Connie or DC-6B to be used with FSEconomy. I have the A2A Stratocruiser but it's not working in P3dV2.4. I'm using the Flight Replica's DH-114 Heron and like it but I'm looking for something a bit larger and faster. I want a good VC with at least fairly accurate systems modeling and great sounds or aftermarket sounds available. I know PMDG has a DC-6 coming but it might be awhile before it's available for P3d. Your suggestions recommendations wanted....thanks in advance.

Guys, I have an issue with KSEA. I recently reinstalled FSX on my system; however, KSEA has some horrific raised terrain on the taxiways and runways... This is the only airport with this problem. So, I was wondering if FSX comes with a default KSEA? Can someone please check their scenery library and see if there's a default KSEA on the list, pls? I currently have latest versions of ORBX PNW (and Global Base), and Vector. Everything else is fine except the very airport itself. Terrain is raised so high that the runways are buried. Not sure what's causing this.

Hi guys, I'm running P3D 2.4 on a Intel 2700@ 4.5 GHz with a GTX 780 GPU. This allows me to have autogen density at thence, scenery complexity at very dense, cloud coverage at maximum at a distance of 90nm, shadows at medium with default values, and all the other sliders relatively high (except traffic which is around 15%). Running on a 1080p monitor this allows me to look the frame rate relatively steady at 33 using the A2A C182 in FTX Norway in relatively cloudy weather. When I approach Oslo performance drops to around 20-25. If I uncap the frames (using the internal limiter) it jumps somewhere between 30 and 60 most of the time, but the simulation becomes a bit…

Several install problems arose upon receiving my ORBX DVD . The install was difficult but , you guessed was my fault . I struggled with the registration in that my registration key was given openly- except at the Flight Sim Store . I expected a special e-mail , but going to my account at the flight sim store there was my registration key number . The problem I had was separating zeroes from 'O's , which I had guessed at mistakenly . Once I switched to zeroes all was well . I keep FSX on a separate drive . I had five gigabytes extra , I had thought , but I had forgotten about one or two additions to FSX , into the separate drive . Windows provides no means to adjust…

I've CaptainSim C130 for FSX. I installed it in P3D that way: copied C130 files from FSX>SimObjects>Airplanes. The plane is there, it flies, but panel is completely dead. Nothing works. Besides that copy, I also put C130 gauges from FSX into P3D gauges. Suggestions?

Just discovered this fantastic set of packages that really brings coastal environments to life - check out this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/459116-global-ai-ship-traffic-fsx-and-p3d-news-and-support/page-4 The models and routes work great in P3D...and did I mention it's freeware?! p.s. the install of the packages is a bit of a process, but well worth the effort.

I'm just wondering if anybody knows what issues are going to be addressed. I'm quite content with 2.4 with the cloud fix. But I'm always looking forward to a newer version to see what more has been fixed. Maybe if Pete Dowson has announced when his next vacation/holiday is then we would know the exact week 2.5 would land on our hard drives. They have always seemed to launch a new version when is gone for that week lol!

Is anyone having OOM issues with ftx vector? I just installed it and now I cant complete any flights with the pmdg 777. Nothing else in the scenery library is enabled except for the departure and arrival airports and some landclass. What happens is the vas steadily declines until the sim runs out of memory. Its acting like there is a memory leak.

Hi I use process lasso to set affinity and other stuff for programs. I don't think process lasso will log cpu time for a process by core. I want to log CPU use by P3D so I can set affinity for other programs running at the same time. Is there something out there that would allow me to log the cpu time by core, for P3D over time? I used perfmon, but I only got total cpu use for all processes. So what I'm looking for is something that will log this: process: prepar3d.exe Time CPU Use Core 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Any help will be gratefully accepted.

Have been using P3Dv2.x since it came out last year. Have thought I was happy with it compared to FSX, but another thread on this site motivated me to do some specific comparisons. Have noticed that in P3D2 I often have micro-stutters even with good FPS. Have also noticed shimmering (vibrating?) of vertical objects like light poles, particularly at addon airports. Did a comparison betweenP3D2 and FSX: the RealAir B60 at UK2000 EGBB and EGNT over ORBX FTX England, with ORBX weather theme 4: FPS 14 - 25 in both simulators; micro-sutters and vertical shimmering in P3D2, no micro-stutters or shimmering in FSX. I bought the F1 GTN750 and am getting acquainted with it however one thing that I find a bit annoying, and it seems to be by design, is that each time I switch views in the VC using Ezdoc the GTN will disappear and I have to call it back up by either the alt-view menu path or pressing F10 then going back to the VC and pulling down the GTN stack. Is there a way to assign the GTN view to a button or key sequence so that if I want to bring up the Garmin unit while in the VC I just press it? Surely they made it like any other 2D pop up you can call up by pressing some sort of Shift+ command? Thanks for any help, I did browse through the manual but didn't see anything…

Hi, folks. Quick question. I'm looking for a GPS with updateable nav data that I can use to practice current, real-world approaches in a GA platform (think Piper Archer, Beech Bonanza, Beech Baron).
