I just recently bought the amazing ORBX PNW region haven't flown it much (waiting for my yoke to come in) I am new to fsx and wanted to get a good starting place for fsx so while they were on sale i got: - ORBX PNW region -REX essentials plus with overdrive -FSUIPC 4 (not on sale) - and will be getting a2a c172 after i get used to the default 172 So that was just a bit of a background, What i would like to know is what is the coverage of the pnw region? does it cover half of British Columbia and all of Washington? i am from Canada so i would love to fly in the Canada part of it but i also don't mind flying on the US side it would just be nice to know …

Hi guys, Today I did a flight from Amsterdam Schiphol direction Milan at 15.000ft at 250 kias. Several cloudlayers and photo scenery. After playing with settings over the last couple of days I thought I had it nailed. However, after the Alps I decided to mak a U-turn , fly over the Alps again and land at Munich. Just 1 minute after the U-turn my free VAS ( stayed around 500-700mb the whole flight ) dropped to 312 and then it was the end of the flight...OOM. Can you take a look with me at what I can do any further ? The LOD radius at high ( 4.5 ) has to stay, because medium( 3.5 ) makes the textures unsharp just in front of the aircraft. My 2 Titans…

Hello, I realized a problem with the default flight planner of P3D version 2.4: If I input a specific cruising altitude of for example 6000 ft and save the flight, then this cruise altitude value is getting lost. If I retrieve the flight, then I don’t find the saved cruising altitude, but a fantasy value. This fantasy value never is four digits or above, but two or three digits only. Is this a bug of Prepar3D 2.4, or is this a problem with my installation? Can I take any action? Kind regards Arndt

Hi All, I wish you a Merry Christmas and safe flying I have recently encountered a strange issue on my P3Dv2 which I have been using for over 2 months - all runway and taxi lights have gone missing since a few days earlier. Airport lights are missing even on default sceneries. I haven't change settings of P3D and install/uninstall sceneries before the issue happens. I am wondering if anybody could advise on possible cause of this and if there's anything which I should try to fix this? As reported by others ... I'd recommend you NOT install the 347.09 Beta drivers from nVidia. I'm not sure what it is about Lockheed Martin nVidia don't seem to like, but this is 3rd time nVidia has broken P3D in both Beta an WHQL drivers. Verified: The 344.75 drivers work fine. Cheers, Rob.

Just bought Precipitfx, and in the manual they suggest to put the effects slider to the max, but this will give me fireworks everywhere. Can some tell me how to remove the fireworks, not meaning the fireworks.fx files, because that will only give missing files.

I've been playing around with ASNext and REX Ess, but there I find I can choose a certain weather type by station, but when I setup a flightplan for that weather in another region, the weather I choose is not ported over to where I want to fly. What I want to do is select different aspects for a weather theme, like moderate snow, light wind, partial overcast, etc, to project that theme onto the flightplan of my choice. For example, if I want to fly in a snowy Norway and at this time there is no snow there, I can create it myself, in another way than try one date after another in hystorical weather archive, hoping to stumble onto what I'm after, probably several hours …

How do I remove cloud shadows in P3D Professional I have not ticked any shadows but they appear anyway

Im getting these weird " underground " white lines under certain parts of road in the terrain. I recently hooked up a second monitor and it only started happening after that. anyone know how I can fix it without disconnecting my other monitor?

Hello everyone, I am a FSX user, and I have a new system build with a great AMD 290 GPU. to be honest I am not really satsfied with the way FSX works. I heard that P3D is much better regarding to the smoothness and quality of the texture. So do you guys suggest me to switch to P3D? also where I can purchase it from? I went to their website but I couldn't understand! they don't sell it same way as the FSX? there is only license to developers and for Academic! where to find? also is the PMDG 777 will work on P3D? Can you guys help please? It started with patchy sqaure textures, and now summer textures dont show at all. Central Rocky mountains. Also when using FTX Central I get an error that says secenery config file not found

This can't be right....can it? Running Latest build of ASN along with REX4 and patched up to P3D v2.4 http://i.imgur.com/R3gUNkK.jpg Some notes: I am using the latest cloud.fx file LM released for the cloud fix but this was happening before to me as well... Also, I have tried with and without ASN. Can't really get that nice sky any more like I used to be able to....Don't know where I should start.

I've noticed that as I fly along, after 45 minutes to an hour or more, the FPS in the simulator drops a lot and when I land at the destination I have quite a bit of stuttering. Does P3D not use housekeeping to discard old data from memory or is it because of something else that builds up over time?

I'm hoping you guys can help me with this. Basically, I want to run with my Autogen at Sparse, as after some testing I've been doing today I get best performance at this setting. The only drawback is that when I put my autogen to sparse I get no ORBX night lighting. Does anyone know how i can keep the Autogen setting at sparse but still get the benefits of the ORBX night lighting? (Or failing that does anyone know how to improve Autogen performance when set to Normal :-)) Thanks for the advice chaps

Hello, since two weeks or so I have problems with the ATC the selected attitude of the flight plan is constantly ignored by ATC, and the given attitude is nonsense; for example: the flight plan contains 6000 ft attitude, ATC is giving me 100 ft sometimes messages are shown in the ATC window, but not read by the controller or messages are read only partially. I already have replaced the ATC sound file (Prepar3D v2/sound/atc) by my backup of the original files. But the problem still persists. Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem? Hey All - Merry Xmas! Getting a chance to actually do some flying on this holiday. I installed REX Texture Direct and I am seeing bands of clouds... distinct gaps between them. When I switch back to default P3D it appears to look ok. I have posted this in the REX support forums but it is a holiday so I thought I would throw it out to the simming crowd and see if any of you have come across this? Happy Holidaze! Clutch

Well, not that we welcome it; but, can you believe I am getting OOM almost instantly on my sim, now. So I'm in the process of installing my add-ons to P3D, and almost anywhere I go and fly it's an instant 3.5+ load on VAS...add some clouds and bam, crash with OOM. And, I'm like WT wrong with this. This wouldn't happen in FSX ...the exact same add-ons, and the exact same settings. ORBX and high-end aircrafts. By-the-way, the only shadows I use id for clouds and my aircraft at medium. Now, so far I have tried lowering the graphic settings to medium and low range; no traffic, LOD 4.5, max resolution to 2048, fair day. I have also done the MS "fix it" for VAS. Not sure w…

Hey all! I have had a major problem with UK2000 Edinburgh Xtreme clashing with some orbx products. The orbx products are global, vector and openlc Europe. EGPH has a higher priority over them in the fsx scenery library but the ai aircraft park anywhere including in terminal buildings. Its highly annoying as Edinburgh is my home town. Hoping someone has a solution for this! Regards

Have recently migrated some VFR France photoscenery into P3dv2.4 but have found that the majority of the autogen buildings have black wall textures although the roofs are normal. Trees are fine. My UK VFR Photoscenery autogen is OK but this only appears within the VFR France volumes, I've scoured the forums for a fix for this or to find the cause but can't find any clues. Okay, I've tried all the tweaks recommended here in the forums including the new DSR settings. I especially rely on Rob Ainscough's suggestions. My i7 4770k with a 780ti has P3d looking great and performing well. It's all fine as long as I fly GA and make short local hops. However, when I load real weather and an airliner like the Aerosoft A319 or QW 146 and go from a major 3rd party addon airport to another major airport, P3D 2.4 crashes. I haven't been able to complete an airliner flight yet. Any thoughts anyone? I have tried moving the graphic sliders down, Most are in a more middle ground setting. I've got a few WOAI packages in there, but I keep the air traffic to 25…

After extensive OOM issues and many test scenarios I found the biggest gain in beating this problem, of course this was my system and yours may not be resolved the same way. The following was a reply post I made in another thread. Well I managed to finally get a complete flight from KLAX to KSFO in my CS777 without an OOM after making a few changes. I created a saved flight to bypass the scenario startup menu Removed the .bgl files in question per Robs advice Turned off FTX Hybrid mode Turned off Global trees Turned off Panel serialization in P3d Turned off Air Traffic Manager and not just lower the settings I lowered my overclock speed from 4.6 to 4.3 I did each step …
