Since the 344.xx drivers I had trouble with the VASI lights, which werent visible at distance, but upon touchdown they lit up. I read this was a driver problem and should be fixed with the latest 347.09 driver, but after installing this driver, all runway lights disappeared completely. I found a post about disabling the airport elevation in ORBX Vector control panel, but this didnt have any effect either. I already reinstalled the driver, but no luck. I repaired P3D, but also no change. Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem and what I can do to solve it?

Hi guys, I just downloaded and tested Ideal Flight 10 to try to use it with P3D. I have done the registry fix, and I have a copy of the prepar3d.exe called fsx.exe in the folder. Installation went smooth, but it had trouble reading two aircraft configuration files for the default 747. I do not have a registered version of the application, but selecting a simple flight and launching its went perfect. I ended up at the correct airport in the correct aircraft. I haven't had time to test all the functionality, but at least as a simple launcher that allows you to choose airport from a list beforehand it should work great. Hello guys, I just run in a strange problem when I launch Prepar3D with administrator privileges. I have no ATC sound. Neither pilot voice or flight controller. The text shows up in the ATC window tho, but no sound. :( All the other sounds working fine, cockpit sounds, engines etc. If I'm running Prepar3D without admin privileges the ATC voices are there. I need to run it in admin mode because of Ultimate Traffic 2 ( UT2 ), otherwise I can't see AI traffic. Hope somebody ran in a similar problem and know how to fix it. Thanks! Greets Nytro

I remember reading some time back that we would see v2.5 before the end of the year. Well its only 3 weeks to go before the end of the year and there is no mention about 2.5 Not that I am complaining because I am very happy with it the way its is. I can live with the glaring problems because I know its being developed. I am hoping for an end to rotating clouds and water reflections being way out of position being fixed in 2.5 and I still see wind socks sticking straight out. Looking forward to doing a complete reinstall since I just through my addons into 2.4 Its starting to look like it need some cleaning up:-) Hopefully I'll get 2.5 before I feel impelled …

Hi everyone I have been waiting for over a year now for Elite to bring a driver out so that I can start using my 'Expensive' Mel Throttle Quadrant again I decided to email them again last week and was told that a driver will be available soon .......Hmmmmmmm!! Just wondering if anyone has been able to get it going in P3D v2,4 ..... and if they have what is the secret I have tried using FSUIPC to control the quadrant but sadly it doesn't work Looking forward to hearing any replies on this Paul

I am considering making a look at the Airbus series (318-321) in the meen time for PMDG to move over to P3D. So being a Boing fan i am reaching out to Airbus fan´s to point me in the direction B) . Ive spent the past 4 hours looking at posts on how to fix the issue in v2 where taxiways have vanished from certain airports. Most of the posts say you need the latest version of ADE. I have it. They then explain how to reset the flags using ADE. What NONE of them say is how to save the file and make it work in P3dv2. Its driving me nuts! Its like they assume you have a engineering degree and are a professional scenery editor. Hi, I have unistalled my UK airports by deleting the entries in the FSX scenery list, then removing the folders from the Orbx folder. But once I switch regions in FTX Central, the entries in the scenery list return and FSX gives me an error message for every airport on startup saying it cannot find then relevant files in the Orbx folder. Why is this! Putting the airport folders back in sorts the problem, but I need to delete these airports for a while. How do I tell FTX Central that these airports are actually uninstalled??

Is there a way to see the Aitraffic navigation and strobe lights in a distance bigger than 10km? In prepar3d v2.4, those lights just dissapear. I remember in fsx, flying at night was also great, because we could see many strobe lights 50km around. Do you thinks is an issue of prepar3d or something that has to see with aitraffic developers?. Im not a developer, but i have seen that intensity of night stars are wonderfull in prepar3d. (maybe using the same textures for strobe?). really need help. thanks and sorry for my english.

Hi guys I wonder if you can help me with an issue I am having with ORBX. I have all the usual Orbx scenery including Europe, Vector, Open LC and EU England. My problem is that I keep getting spontaneous coloured squares as I look down from the aircraft. I have a new high end spec PC (I7 4GHz 4790K Haswell - 16Gb Ram - GTX 780 3GB) and my FSX Scenery settings have been lowered to around 60% but I still get the squares. I have also turned off the "preview in DX10" setting. I am running ASN for weather and flying the 737NGX. Would appreciate your comments. Many thanks Ian

Does anyone have any links to good freeware/payware scenery for area 51 for prepar3d or fsx/backwards compatible. Google isnt much help.

I have recently converted to P3D V2.4 in a big way - the installation corrupted by P3D V1.4 - and I am committed moving forward. 'Tis the future, after all! I am trying to tune this beastie, and have followed Rob A's threads and others with interest, but wanted to post something I have observed that perhaps others with greater insight/knowledge/understanding can decipher. Hi, Believe it or not, after all this time, I have just got around to having a go at capturing some video of P3D using FRAPS. Sadly this has been unsuccessful and, so far, I have been unable to work out why. I am hopeful one of you video experts can help to sort me out! I've asked this question on the Aerosoft forum ( so far, nothing definite ) and thought it might be a good idea to check here too. Is anyone running this aircraft in P3DV2, and are there any problems ? I know it won't have a P3DV2 installer, so I plan to use the Flight Sim Estonia migration tool to install it. Any advice gratefully received.

Really trying to enjoy P3D, and for the most part I do, but it does seem to have some issues. Has anyone else experienced the appearance of white triangles which are showing the miss-matched edges of scenery texture panels. Really getting annoying. Bob C.

For those of you who have the MA BER in v2.4 installed and suffering missing App and Taxilights, there is a native P3Dv2.4 light patch available. Go to www.simmershome.de And see there the details. No original files will be overwritten and if you want you can delete the patch anytime you like..... But I'm sure, you will be more than happy

Posted this over at LM, but hey, won′t hurt to post here as well... When I pan my view around (using TrackIR 5) the cloud shadows on the ground, closest to the edge of the screen, are disappearing and coming back as I turn my head. Bit annoying . A similar thing happens in the VC. Feels like it happens more when the sun is a bit lower on the horizon. Anyone else experiencing this? And if so, any cure? Sorry if this have been covered earlier. I′ve tried deleting the shaders folder, using different lighting/shadow settings and so on. / Fredrik

Hi guys, Three weeks ago everything worked. What have I done : I installed MSE Italy , MSE Portugal, Photo Real Spain , Night Environment Portugal and Night Environment Italy. Also REX Soft Clouds. Today I wanted to take a look at Rome how everything looked and found that the airport was really quiet. No AI traffic aircraft. Checked 4 more airports and also there no AI traffic. I always use MyTraffic, so to ne sure I uninstalled MT. Also I let p3D make a new p3d.cfg file. In scenery\world\scenery there is the trafficAircraft.bgl file and active. In the p3d.cfg file there is : User Objects=Airplane, Helicopter, Submersible, ExternalSim SimObj…

The title says it all, I was flying from southern Illinois back up to Chicagoland today (with real world weather, what a ride! :p0502: ) And it looked like this: Obviously it's a bit of an immersion buster, any way to mitigate this or improve it? How does P3D determine where it starts and stops it's snow textures? Or is this something to do with FTX Global/Vector? I have FSGRW if that makes any difference.

Since some days I get P3Dv2.4 CTDs - mainly in ORBX FTX NA area. For example, at Lake Tahoe (FTX KTVL) with A2As C172 I can't fly much longer than 5 minutes then I get the message: Prepar3D. exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly ... CTD App crash viewer says. Prepar3D.exe - Stopped Working - Exception Code 0xc0000374 - Fault Module Version 6.3.9600.17278. It is always the same Exception Code and Module version. Faul Module differs but mostly StackHash ... . Any ideas? Cheers, Harry

Anyway, the author and developer Marniftarr seems to have recovered from his illness and is back developing this brilliant peace of software again. He is currently very busy fixing things to work with P3D v2.4, Windows 8.1 and fixing all kinds of bugs and also reports the long-sougth-after v2.0 is very close to release as well! v1.18.4 will be released tomorrow 6. january if all goes well in the testing.
