Hi, sorry for my ignorance, but I haven't messed with Orbx in quite some time. I'm thinking of re-installing as I have many many (many) Orbx scenery's, but I'm really not interested in a two-day process followed by a painstaking hunt for all the right updates (and maybe updates of updates!) I remember reading long ago of Orbx considering an auto-installer that could be set to install scenery and then search for and install the proper updates, but never heard anything after that. Was that ever done/completed?

Not sure what I did wrong but, when I installed FSUIPC so it added on to P3D, my controls went nuts... First of all, with FSUIPC installed, I deleted all the axis and button assignments in P3D then went to FSUIPC to assign all of those. My first indication of a problem was that FSUIPC seemed to be stuck on sampling the throttle lever. It took me a long time of trying to clear and reset before I could get it to sample any other axis and then I had to repeat that process over and over again for each axis. Once I got all the buttons assigned to my liking and then managed to calibrate each axis, I thought all would be well. It wasn't. I got back into the flight, aircraft…

Has anybody flown to Monterey in Orbx NCAL? The airport is on a big plateau. I have disabled Pilot's Mesh. I have disabled UTX USA. I tried to fix it with Pilot's Airport Terrain Tool without success. Yes, North America is enabled in the FTX Control panel. Has anyone else noticed this? Noel

I have not added any aircraft to P3D...just starting to use the sim so I don't need to complicate things too much yet. Anyway, some of the GA prop planes don't have instruments showing...just holes or grey areas where instruments should be. Other aircraft, especially the jets, are just fine. If I go to "views" and make a new view of the instrument panel, the instruments show on that view very nicely. Of course, I can either resize it or undock it and move it to my second monitor so I can see them but, that's not my preferred method of doing things. This time of year is always quite exciting for us simmers. Usually during the US Thanksgiving run-up, we are forunate enough to be delighted by at least one major release and usually some others too. I really hope the one I'm looking forward to is the major one, because since having switched to P3D over a year ago, I have been without. What's everyone betting on?

Hello guys, I've recently bought P3D V2.4 and seen that I get blurried textures. On ground after 500m approx. and in the air i can see about 1km in front of me after getting blurried ground textures. I use FTX Global and an affinitymask of 217 custom to my specs. I have an Intel core i7 3770k CPU @ 3.5GHz. nVidia GTX680. Hey guys, I am asking fellow P3D simmers on how they like to set up their flights before you actually get into flying. Don't over think these questions as I suppose you could answer saying yes to all of the choices. Just go with what you usually tend to do. Much appreciated, Clutch

From what I can tell so far, my controller(s) need to be set up for each individual aircraft? Is there a method to have a 'global' controller set-up that will be used by every aircraft kind of like in FSX? I also installed FSUIPC and that also has the ability to set up aircraft profiles for each aircraft but it also allows FSX to use basic settings for all the installed aircraft. I didn't find this info in the 'learning center' (aka, help file) for P3D... it's probably there.

Hi, I'd like to say that I would really love to purchase ftx global and ftx global vector. However, I like to fly mostly along the Outer Banks, and the vector product there has been completely hosed up since it first came out (a year ago now?) I'm so glad I actually asked a few buyers of it to post screenshots before taking the plunge myself. Along the Outer Banks, which if you aren't familiar with the area is over 70 miles of beautiful beach along the coast, there isn't a lick of sand in global vector. Trying to update to FTX Global 1.3 from 1.1 .....have downoaded twice and tried to install twice .....get the same error message "Not enough disk space for the unwrapping process. Unable to continue." Have checked and disk has many Gigs of space....using W-7 and P3d2.3 on gaming computer....never had this problem before...downloaded from Flight Sim Store where originally bought...any help appreciated... Ive been away for 5 years bringing up a new family and only now do I finally have enough down-time to consider flying again. My current PC is 5 years old so I know I'm going to struggle with that. Would the specs below be able to handle Prepare3d at moderate settings? Thanks for your honest advice. The basic specs are.... Anyone else experiencing poor response from their joystick, particularly in taxing and take off roll out? after applying full power I have this nasty pull to the left and a full right stick in almost not enough... I did calibrate twice. Anything else?

Hi all: I would like to try putting some of the prepar3d data onto a ramdisk. I have searched google and these forums and it seems like most people manually copy over some files to the ramdisk, and then change file links in the prepar3d .cfg file. This seems like a messy method at best. Also all the information I find is 2 years old or older. Is there a way to do this automated? I want to use a 10 g ramdrive. All the files would not fit on this I know, but certainly the ones being most used at the time would be. Maybe a ramdrive cache? many times I fly around over the same general area, so it may load from HD the first time, but then should pull from the ramdrive the …

Hi all. I am a recent convert over to the world of P3D. I am quite pleased at this point, but wanted to share what I am running, software/add-on wise in hopes that any advise can be given. I used full screen mode in FSX and the 1/2 refresh rate fix to achieve amazingly smooth, absolute stutter free performance. I have tried about everything under the sun with P3D, but due to my nvidia 690 and fullscreen not being "true" fullscreen, the 1/2 refresh rate fix does not apply to P3D. Therefore I have stutters. I have tweaked slider settings, tried vsync in game, and tried the FFTF=0.01 etc....to no avail. They were definitely minimized, but not gone. I am running…

In 2.3 the cost in fps with veg shadow enabled, wasnt noticeable. In 2.4 I get 20fps or more drop when enabled. Anyone else?

Can someone with ORBX's new KPSP installed shoot over to L35 and see if Big Bear Lake is still there? Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead have gone missing from my scenery and the only thing I have done recently is install KPSP...or maybe it could have happened with Vector 1.20...I have no idea.

I have been having a problem with Prepar3d for several months now, and I think that have finally tracked the problem down to the TrackIR. I have TrackIR 5 with the TrackClip Pro. I also have Windows 7 64bit on my system, and Prepar3d ver. 2.4. Starting with Ver. 2.3, I started getting these "stackhash" crashes all the time. I've learned that stackhash crashes have something to do with Data Execution Prevention in Windows. It got to the point where I couldn't fly. I saw in another thread A2A is telling people to disable cockpit panel mips which got my brain churning... FSX is notoriously awful handing Mips and no one uses them. Does this mean??? YES! MIPMAPS ACTUALLY FUNCTION OUT OF THE BOX IN V2!! NO BLUR! I converted the textures of a Carenado 182T textures w/ Mips and edited each layer (except the top layer) of the mip chain with a different color. This is best news out of V2 I've seen yet!!

All my a/c when selected have all fuel tanks loaded to 100%, other than when a saved flight is loaded with a different fuel load or a load configuration page is available... Is there a .cfg entry to change this to a lesser default figure for fuel load, or even make the fuel load randomized? Thanks, Bruce
