Hello all, I wonder if you can offer some help or advice. Running P3D 2.4 ORBX Global scenery, ASN for the weather with Soft cloud textures, currently flying in the Dash 8 by Majestic. I have noticed if I look down at where your legs would be in the cockpit like the seat area, I get between 60-90 fps, same if I look at the overhead panel, 60-90 fps, but if I look outside the window at the clouds, it drops to 20-30 fps. Why such the big loss of fps and is there anyway I can fix this? Running in HDR textures, with the HDR soft clouds installed. Also have FFTF=0.01 in the CFG. In-sim settings not too high, scenery all on Normal. Many thanks, Daniel

Hi Folks! I am back to my P3d 1.4 but still trying to get v2 work. I've a very strange problem, perhaps you can help me. I've asked this to LM forum but they had no idea. I can't use start-up screen because it's causing ctds. So, I've decided to fly without start-up screen like v1.4, but when I load default flight my plane starts at middle of ocean and it splashes after that of course. I checked location from map, it's longtitude 0, latitude 0 location (somewhere in East Atlantic). Now, before you start your suggestions, let me clarify, first, I don't have anything installed other than v2. No addon, mesh, aircraft etc. It's vanilla v2. Second, I've downloaded v2…

Hi guys hope you can help me with this, i downloaded the IVAO MTL package and installed it in the simobjects directory and copied the ut2 aircraft from my fsx simobjects directory to the P3Dv2.5 simobjects directory.i am only using the aircraft from UT2 but not the main program and schedules etc. In the simobjects cfg made the entries as below .. [Entry.9] Path=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft [Entry.10] Path=SimObjects\IVA0_MTL in vpilot i downloaded the rules for the P3D ivao package and installed them i can see some planes on vatsim but get also a lot of misconfiguration messages so i think that my UT2 planes are not being used ,,do i miss something in m…

As I read in the above list, the Lionheart Kodiak is compatible with P3Dv2, but you need to use the sound from the FSX C208B. I installed the Kodiak into P3Dv2 both with and without the EMT and both worked fine except for no sound. Here is what I did to install sound into the P3Dv2 Kodiak. Note: Everything was done from the SimObjects-Airplanes folder for each respective plane. 1. I deleted the P3Dv2 Kodiak sound and soundBackup folders. 2. I copied the folders for sound and soundBackup from the FSX Kodiak version and pasted them into the P3Dv2 Kodiak folder. 3. I made a new folder in P3Dv2 Simobjects-Airplanes and titled it C208B. 4. I thought I'd got rid of this with about 1.2 and OK through 2.2/2.3. I'm getting again. After exiting 2.5 - all seems OK the some 15 seconds later, up pops Fatal Error P3d etc. looking for solution etc. etc. boring. Whatever, it is apparently some nvapi.dll unloaded according to Event Viewer. Pain is of course that it then redoes all the scenery cataloguing and so on each time on restart as not saving cfg changes on exit. I believe nvapi.dll is a NVidia bit and I have just of course installed the latest NVidia 347.52 driver. Anyone have any idea please? Cheers, Mike

I can't seem to find a P3Dv2 compatible version of EGTF Fairoaks. Can someone point me to where I can download this? I would have posted this on the ORBx forums, but they are messing me about at the moment. Damn internet :angry2: FSS0254949

I am really enjoying version 2.5 - P3D is coming along very nicely and I am so pleased to be part of this journey. Colors have become more vivid, and compared to the bland coloring in the initial versions, this is a totally new world. The lighting at dawn and sunset is much improved. And now daylight feels like daylikt, unlike the gloomy winther daylight of v2.4. And even with quite high settings my dear PMDG 777, performance is quite smooth. Now I am just waiting for ORBX compatibility. And at some point I Really wished LM would enhance the precipitation effects - the snow and rain looks quite horrible! However, I dont wanna end on a negative note - prepar3d v2.5…

I installed some scenery and airports and had to zip the files to my desktop to install. After I have installed them can I delete the zipped files and folder on my desktop or do I have to keep them?

I have been told that I can reduce the overall global lighting in P3D (or FSX for that matter) by adding a "Day_Threshold=" statement in the Prepar3d.cfg file, and giving it a value of less than 32768. However, this does not seem to work on my PC. Can someone help me out, or is this actually not possible? What I want is to limit the brightness when the Sun is high in the sky. Please don't ask why. I have my reasons :smile:

Bit the bullet last night. Uninstalled 2.4 and all it's add ons with trepidation. The 2.5 install went well. Love the brightness of the colours.My autogen is fuller,menus are faster. I'm installing add ons one by one. Thank you LM for improving this platform.i think there's more to this update than has been officially announced :-) The proof of the pudding is in the tasting :-) Jay

I simply dragged the c172 folder over from my FSX installation into Prepar3d 2.5.12942.0 . When I went to copy over the Cessna172.dll from the "gauges" folder I noticed there were already these Cessna files in Prepar3d. I can load the plane in Prepar3d but when I go to change the view to Virtual Cockpit, the selection is greyed out. I am hoping someone can tell me how to get it working. Thanks!

Hi, I have just spend some time un-installing 2.4 and cleaned everything with regedit and installed 2.5. My biggest concern is still VAS so i was a little surprised to see that VAS is the same as 2.4 Just have to adjust further i am afraid Michael Moe

Looks like it may be a while yet before V2.5 will be ready for release. It is good to know the Beta Testers are finding the problems and fixing before release. Many Thanks to all the guys @ LM and all the testers. As usual a special thanks to Rob for keeping us in the loop.

First I just jumped to Prepar3D with the ambitious to get better performance/better looking graphics/and more important reduce the chances of Vas memory..... go for my first flight PMDG T777 KSFO (Fsdream) KLAX (Fsdream) here we go .....VAS memory ringing back there not able to complete the flight....lowing down some stuff and noticing that the CPU load AffinityMask [JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=114...not sure is i should use the tool in the FSdream main panel to change to 250 or another value.....the thing is that I still have Vas memory problem and on top of that the structure of P3d has change so many things ...I have so much money in adds putted away since they can not …

Dear All, I know it's a topic that got discussed previously but I'm still confused. Can one run the 2 sims on the same PC and same window partition ? If so how can I install FTX global , ASN , REX type of addon on both sims ? When and how to use the migration tool ? Thanks in advance for your help. Kind Regards

Hi, I installed P3D 2.1 on a fresh system. After all I added my 6 FIPs. Problem: they don't work. Double clocking the exe in the program files(x86)\directoutput folder brings up an error message that the "side by side configuration" does not work. What does it mean? I really don't know. Next thing is, that there is a exe.xml in the roaming folder, but the FIPs do not connect to the sim. I manually added the exe file, but it doesn't work. What else can I say? FSUIPC latest version installed. EZDOK works perfectly, it is started by the Exe.xml. With Former P3D 2.0 the FIPs worked perfectly. Don't know what exactly was te difference :-( I use Track …

I submitted a request for help on the Orbx limited user support site early yesterday morning and have received no reply as of yet. Yes, I included my order number. Perhaps someone here can help me. Last week I did a fresh install of FSX and Acceleration. I installed all the North America regional sceneries and all the North America FTX airports and all 19 Global Airport Packs. I installed all the updates and service packs and library 140927 and all the FTX ai traffic for NA. I also installed Pilot's mesh for the Americas. I disabled the AECs for the Global Airport Packs. i have had it with FSX, and I want to know a way to buy a permanent p3d license without paying money each month, I am currently in high school and I love flight simulation, last week I did flight on fsx my fsx crashed and after trying to restart. it said it was missing files and I needed to reinstall fsx. also is there a way to migrate my pmdg 777 from fsx to p3d, for a cheaper price?

Does anyone have any recommendations for an AI traffic package for P3D with a good mix of good looking models and good performance cheers
