Hi , just installed the update for ASN to make it work in P3D 2.5. This is the first time i use P3D so it;s a bit different than fsx. After loading a flightplan in ASN , i run P3D , do i need to select the Active sky weather theme in the weather options part in the weather settings part to get the flightplan weather or do i need to select the user -defined weather clickspot at the bottom( this was how it was used to be in FSX ) Thanks

I used a HEX Editor to increase the waiting time of AI planes in FSX (so they didn't disappear after barely 5 minutes waiting for either me or other AI planes to land) by changing the middle value of the string "C0 72 40" to 8F in the aiplayer.dll file (string 11B0, or 11F0 in FSX Acceleration). This worked great, and increased the waiting time to (apparently) 17 minutes. However, when I looked for the same set of characters in the relevant string in the Prepar3d aiplayer.dll file, they were different. So, I tried searching for the same set of "CO 72 40" hex characters in the Prepar3d aiplayer.dll file, and I found them in string 45720. However, changing "72" to "8F" …

Greetings, I am going to perform my first ever update, moving from Prepar3D V2.4 to V2.5, and wanted to know if there are some "best practices" for loading scenery files (and other tricks), thinking forward to V2.6. I never had to update FSX (no path possible) nor P3D V1.4 (also no path possible). However, I find myself with a lightly corrupted version of 2.4 and thought I would just with a fresh new build of 2.5. But, I am really looking upstream to the eventual 2.6 upgrade, and was wondering if there was a way to decouple the Orbx/Earth Simulations files from the main sim directory. That way, at least to my thinking, if I have to do another install I can just p…

This may have already been asked, but I was curious if prepar3d 64 bit is a thing, and if it is, when it will be released? Fsx is good, but the performance I get isn't. I was thinking if we had a prepar3d 64 bit, if it would use more of my ram and my gpu, hopefully giving better performance. Any info to help curb my curiosity would be awesome. And again, my apologies if this has already been asked.

Hi, brand new PC, factory built by scan, first run tonight, installed Prepar3d. The sim wont start, I get an error saying MSCVR100.dll is missing. Tried searching online but P3D site seems down and all posts mentioning this here seem to be about crashes in game, which I have not got to yet...Can anyone help please? Thanks!

What is the most realistic way to set up controls in p3d, using just p3d settings, fsuipc direct, or p3d through fsuipc?

We have seen the recent release of Prepar3D 2.5 and already weeks ago the release of FSX Steam Edition. Yet we do not have fully functional ORBX software for any of these products. I may be picky but I have some observations on this. First, at least Prepar3D 2.5 was out as a beta to many people. I wonder if it was not out to ORBX. Otherwise I ask myself what surprises the RC contained. If there were any, then please explain. Second, the excitement of some people over being "allowed" to use a piece of software obscures the fact that we all purchased a product. As such this product is supposed to work seamlessly or with little delay if the platform it is dependent …

Man, P3D 2.5 felt so naked without my FTX global, too many brown patches! It is so great to have ORBX back! On to fly and explore. Everything is working for me on 2.5. I haven't gone crazy with the settings, I'm keeping things balanced and not throwing sliders all the way to the right, it seems to work better that way. There's a slight bit of stuttering when I get lower to the ground, which I don't get in my FSX DX10 with fixer set up, but I'll keep tinkering with that. Moving my Autogen and scenery to normal seems to help a bit and water at medium, no reflections. No HDR lighting used helps. VAS usage does seem a bit improved. I have yet to try long flights. Lee

The suggestion was made that a pinned topic for ORBX releases be created. I like that idea, and have expanded it a bit to include "related" releases. Feel free to post under this pinned thread, but please, keep it to just release notices only. If you want to discuss a release, please do so as a new topic. Thanks.

Over the past few months, it has become increasingly clear that many in the flight simulator community have begun to fondly imagine that "we" are the focus of Lockheed-Martin's amazing Prepar3D. Such of course is very far from reality, but then us simulator "pilot's" aren't really all that concerned with "reality" anyway are we? I was looking through the list of companies listed in L-M's Developer Network* who are using Prepar3D in their products, and found this one who is without question representative of L-M's "real target market"... Distributive Military Simulators LLC Just imagine, now anyone can buy a complete Military F-16 BLK 52+ Flight Simulator S…

Hi, As the title says, anyone know how to do this? In FSX, all I had to do was change the ATC Airline name in the aircraft config file to UNITED. I can't get it to work. It just wants to use the ATC_id number. Thanks Bill

Hi, I just started to enjoy v2.5. Thanks LM for keeping me exicted!! I have kept using AlacrityPC since FSX time to reduce background processes before running P3Dv2. My question is ... Is using AlacrityPC or similar software is still meaningful to run P3Dv2? Any advice would be appriciated. /Y

Dear P3D users, I have a question about the P3D window resizing. After I minimise my P3D window to look at another program like PFPX and then maximise P3D again, the window is a much smaller square. A video (not mine) shows exactly what happens to me Is there any fix or way to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance

Just started. Installed update couple days ago and no problem first four to six sessions then last two sessions it crashes on exit. Event view points to module ntdll.dll, which pretty much covers anything that could go wrong. Has anybody travelled this path to see where it goes?

Hi I dont mean a botched workaround install .I mean a proper installation. I own TrafficX .MyTraffic lite and Mytraffic upgrades to p3d.none of these work anymore with 2.5. Don't want to use default traffic,as it's not optimised.of course i understand that 2.5 has only just been released, maybe you know of a traffic program that is being upgraded to work with it. thanks for any help steve
