The new library for ver 2.5 works like a charm. You have to follow the directions to the letter. This a temp fix to use FTX 30 global scenery. Its on their site. If you really want to be impressed look at the screen shots I put on the FLYTAMPA site under Toronto. IMHO The night lighting is very impressive with Martin's new golden coloring rwy lights which I asked him to do for me. Your opinion may differ but I really like it. Nelson

In FSX, I was unable to scroll to see all of the air traffic and I note this is the same issue in P3D. Is there a way to scroll beyond the initial list of traffic that is on the screen? Thanks!

Just thought some of you might like to know I have OZx Scenery and Ants Aussie Airports Installed in 2.5 without any issues that I am aware off. I have done quite a few flights to test. I have OZx running with ORBX Australia, Global , Vector and Holgar Mesh installed into 2.5

Anyone have any experience / recommendations / reviews regarding the 3 planes that orbx put out. They seem to be Kit style GA and I really have no experience in what kit planes can and cant do and my unknowledgeable bias thinks there limited... But let me know they look sexy... are they good?

Anyone seen this effect before? Basically as I fly the patterns will turn into normal mountains behind me.

I have narrowed my performance issue down to my CPU and payware (also default Carenado and glass cockpit planes). With payware planes, I can only get 14 - 24 fps and stutters no matter what other display & cfg settings / tweaks I use. I also resized Carenado's 2048 HD textures down to 1024 DT3 textures for the SR22 and still got the same 14 - 24 fps. With default planes, I can easily maintain 30 + FPS and a stutter free flight. With default planes, I can run max settings (including shadows, cloud shadows, 8MSAA , 8 SGSS in NI) and still maintain 30+ about 80% of the time. Does anyone have it working in 2.5? I'm only just switching from FSX to P3D and RC is a must for me. It's already installed and works fine in FSX, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Earlier today I had discussed my excellent performance with settings in P3DV2.5 during flights from KLAX to KPHX - http://forum.avsim.net/topic/461977-bad-performance-in-p3d-25/page-2#entry3183563. I decided to try my normal testing flight from FSDT KORD to FlightBeam's KIAD. Knowing that it was snowing in Washington, I figured this would be a great challenge to land without an OOM. When taking the same flight in FSX with lower settings, I usually have an OOM on approach to KIAD or at touchdown (and that's without nasty weather!). I landed successfully!!! Hi All, I'm having a problem that is only occurring in the 777. In the cruise phase I have very severe oscillations in the altitude. The plane will constantly drop about 1000feet then start climbing and then overshooting the set altitude by about 1000feet. The rate I'd decent/ascent can be as much as 6000fpm. This occurs no matter what weather settings I use. It does it using ASN, standard sim weather and no weather at all. When using FSCaptain & ASN, FSCaptain will show heavy turbulence whilst ASN shows no turbulence at all. I've tried with FSCaptain off & the result is the same. I know this has been beaten to death and I apologize for bringing it up again. I am not all that HDR savvy. Was sitting at an airport this morning as the sun came up in Orbx Bob. I looked straight into the sun and everything got milky (straightON screenshot). I then turned about 20 degrees to the left (20degrees screenshot) and it darkened abruptly and returned to its original shade. I then turned off HDR and looked straight at the sun again (hdrOFF screenshot) and it was dark as one would expect. Just wondering what I might adjust to improve the view. Hi I have recently installed all the OZX AU sceneries into 2.5 but I notice the windsocks are missing, does anybody know of any simple app that would allow me to add windsocks, thanks Wayne

Hi Could someone advise where afcad files that normally resided in Addon Scenery in previous version are now placed in P3D V2.5. Would creation of Addon Scenery + sub folder (scenery) created in P3D V2.5 directory suffice for rs.bgl and cvx.bgl files and obj.bgl file in Scenery/Global/scenery folder.? Any advice/assistance would be appreciated. noels7

Hi All Having got P3d v2.5 installed and running nice, followed by ORBX which is sweet, have just tried to install GSX. It installs just fine, but no menu appears in the addon section of the menu bar. Anyone else have this issue ? Many thanks

Looks like scenery upgrades based on FSX AFCADs, which includes fine airports from Ray Smith and payware BluePrint have a problem in P3D (v2.5). Everything looks normal except there are no taxiway textures. The lines and lights work okay but the underlying grass or snow bleeds through or makes taxiway disappear (except for paint stripes). I played around with Ray's KHOU Hobby and was able to create new taxiways using AFX (ADE would have worked too I assume), so I am guessing that something is missing from a texture definition... This is amazing. First flight, from FSDT YVR to FlyTampa YYZ in the PMDG 77W in P3D 2.5. It is absolutely perfect. FPS doesn't matter because it's smooth as glass, VAS is almost a non-issue when properly configured... but the visuals!! It is absolutely jaw-droppingly beautiful. The shadows in the VC, the cloud and terrain shadows, the HDR lighting, this is the experience I've been waiting for all my life. Simply amazing. I never had such a smooth flight, the new ASN wind effects are so close to reality, I still can't believe it. I'm uninstalling FSX, no reason to ever go back to it.

HI, I currently have the Carenado Sr22 plane installed on P3D; unfortunately, it tanks my performance. Does any have the Eaglesoft brand Sr22 (or Sr20) and can comment on the performance hit to P3D? From what I see from the screenshots , the font on the PFD / MFD screen looks really small (speed, altitude etc). I fly in wide-view with a .60 zoom. Can anyone comment on their experience with reading the screens for this plane?

I am considering the move to P3d but do most all of my flying on Vatsim. I can not find any videos of P3d and vatsim and I am wondering if it is normally compatible?

Hi All, I purchased P3d V2.4 today, installed it went for a test flight and graphics looked horrible. Like FSX I knew I had to reach a good starting point. I have a pretty powerful PC built just for my flightsim hobby. It runs FSX with DX10 as smooth as butter. Sadly I have to say I have been trying for the last 7 hours or so to cure the microstutters I am getting. I have read many posts, tried many things and nothing has worked. To say I am a little disappointed is an understatement :( I really hope someone might be able to offer a glimmer of hope or it's back to my trusty old FSX for me. I did give up on the stutters and install my trusty A320/A321. …

Hi Together, I hope i`m not asking a question thats already answerd 7000 Times but i used google and the forum search but i couldn`t find anything usable for me. I`m using win 8.1 64 bit and installed prepar3d because i plan to switch from fsx to p3d. Everything works well great frames great graphics but is it true that there is actually absolutely no chance to get v-sync to work in win 8.1? I have really really bad tearing :( The only way to reduce it is to set 8x sgss in NVI. Thank you for your help guys. brgds

I would really appreciate if someone clarify whether I'm right or not. I have my P3D set in 1024 resolution, however I have most of AI (FAIB especially) in 2048 res. and also some of 3rd party sceneries in 4096 res. So, if P3D is running in 1024, does that mean that P3D engine will automatically convert all of 2048 and higher textures into 1024 mode OR it's my job to convert AI, sceneries, flyable planes' textures into 1024 resolution to diminish VAS consumption? Hey guys, Some days ago I uninstalled P3D v2.4 and installed 2.5. Then I installed the PMDG 777 and some Addons,and the performace is more worse than in 2.4. I dont have so much fps as in 2.4 and I dont have any smoothness. What can I do? Hardware: i7 4770K GTX760 8GB Ram Win7 64-Bit Cheers
