I've been using FSX for some years ( close to 5 years now ) and was thinking about switching to P3D. But my problem is my pc specs aren't so good: Intel i3 2120 @ 3.30 GHz 4 GB RAM GeForce GT620 1GB Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits Can I run P3D with this specs? P.S- I have around 25-30 stable fps on FSX

Hello everyone. I plan to build a new gaming pc for P3D, however i am extremely stuck in trying to find the right specs. I do not wish to spend anything over 450 pounds ($673) for my CPU and GPU, yet i am unsure which i should spend more on. I am looking for 30 fps at most airports with addon scenery. Does anybody know which is more important and / or has any specs recommendations? Yours Sincerely, Kamil Nasser

Hi. Yes, another VAS post (sorry about that) but I'm having a hard believing this insane VAS usage. Here's what I have done: I made a fresh install two days ago and now after slowly installing all add ons to my liking I wanted to check VAS usage (with process explorer), but it turned out to be horrendous. Example: Sitting in the cockpit of the NGX at FlyTampa Copehangen or Aerosoft Oslo X consumes 3500MB. Add startup of FS2Crew and GSX on top of that and you probably won't be able to leave the airport. Hi, I use the Ezdok beta version for P3D and I have VC views set to hotkeys. When I am in an exterior view and hit the hotkey, the camera adjusts to the view in the exterior and does not go back to the cockpit - for example, I am flying the NGX and "1" is my hotkey for the pilot view, I hit 1 in the outside view and it moves to the center of the back of the plane - any reason for this? Hi All I have just installed a new copy of P3D onto my new laptop and it activated online ok and went through the scenery stage, but then it crashes to desktop. It will just not load. Hi. I'm looking for an add-on that will seamlessly give me airport info / map view during my Prepar3d 2.5 flight without stopping the simulator. Today, I'm finding myself having to click on the map and zooming into the airport to figure out where the runway I've been assigned to land. Any add-ons out there? Tim

Hi - last time I was so excited over an airliner - was way back to Wilco B767 in fs9. B) B) The FMS seems not to match P3D nav data base. Making a flightplan in P3D, and try to enter waypoints/airways manually there is very few match. In list there is no correct airway from a waypoint to pick. Some VOR and NDB are 1000 of miles away. Not a big problem - as I pick a some well known VOR/NDB along the route and add a STAR at the end with some delete and puzzle. (Short flights to learn the Q400). How to update and match P3D to FMS databases?

Afternoon All, Hopefully a quick question for the community. I'm trying to configure FSUIPC with my CH Flightstick Pro + Prepar3d v2.5 (latest hotfix), and am having problems with the outer left and outer right white buttons. Everything functions so far, but these two buttons won't bind properly. I sense a dual binding issue, where Prepar3d is binding as well, causing a problem. Is there a way to fully disable Prepar3d binding my joystick keys and run entirely on FSUIPC? Note, I cannot see my joystick within Prepar3d Controllers, so unfortunately finding any other bindings is impossible. Unless there's a .cfg file to edit? Essentially I want the left and right white…

This is talking about Split airport due out soon. Making the airport use memory outside of the sim Airports not using VAS = Happy days.

Hey guys, Is someone able to explain to me, in the lighting section what all of the settings do? Like except the lens flare ect i know what they do. But the others? Like for example which one will make when you coming into land you be able to see the aircraft shadow in the water ect ? Cheers

I finally have retired FSX. Sure some scenery still need to be updated, but Ill tell you what AVG 30 FPS in KMIA V2 NGX with Rob's settings and the Optimize, Fiber and Affinity mask tweaks P3D is beautiful. Its the most beautiful thing I've seen.

I recently purchased UTX Version 2.0 for SA and am trying to install for Version 2.5 for P3D. It appears install works correctly however when I go to use setup tool it tells me that the following path is invalid; I/Lockheed Martin/Prepar3d Version a. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and how did you solve it? Thanks

Hi All Just updated PMDG Operations Center after updating from P3DV2.4 to V2.5 and keep getting error message telling me .....\Product Module 777.dll is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. I've removed that file and let the OC redownload it but still the same. When I try to download an addon livery I just get a basic error message. The House PMDG777 works fine as does everything else after the 2.5 update. Any way to download the Operations Center on its own and try a full reinstall, or is everyone having this problem. Thanks

So Im currently an FSX DX10 user, I use 8x AA in the Fixer and 8xSGSS with NVI. I run a 2500K @4.8 w/GTX 970 GPU. I great very good FPS in FSX and almost no shimmering....even from Addon Airports, even when I fly in heavy cloud cover it doesnt seem to affect my performance much. One of the best parts about my setup is that my NGX DU's are very very clear and easy to read, I use no HDR or Shader addons at all (ie Shade, ENB, SweetFX). My question is, since I'm thinking of moving over to P3D, can I get that same level AA, with the performance and still having a great clear picture as I do in FSX? Best Regards Ronald.

I am at a loss....I originally thought this problem was due to the age and some possible internal damage to my CH pedals but I just purchased a set of saitek pedals and I have the same issue. After takeoff at approx 3-4,000 ft I get the brakes message appearing on screen in the sim. Upon landing the brakes are applied and quickly bring me to a stop without using any thrust reversers or speed brakes. Obviously this is unrealistic and really kills it for me after a flight. As soon as the aircraft comes to a complete stop the brakes shut off and everything works normally. This doesn't seem to be a calibration issue and no matter what I do as far as pressing the toe brak…

Is it possible that the "delete flight" function has been removed from the p3dv2 menu since v.2.5 ? At least I cant find it anymore.

Hi, I am looking to break back into Flight Simming and wanted to get an idea of what sort of performance I could expect in P3D. My system is as follows: i7-2600 3.4 GHz 8 GB Ram EVGA GTX560 Ti 1GB I realize the system is a little dated but I am considering purchasing an EVGA 970 GTX 4 GB (I have been led to believe that this 3.0 PCI Express card will not experience ay bottle neck as a result of the 2.1 PCI Express MB I just run a single monitor 1920x1080 Any insight is appreciated. Mainly, we have been hand-editing the landclass for the largest US cities to make sure it is as good as it can be (especially NYC). And, we updated the golf courses, parks and cemeteries using the latest available commercial data (adds about 15% more features). Hi, in my original P3D.cfg this is set to =0 (unlimited)but in all my saved configurations it seems to be 61. Any ideer why this ? Thanks Michael Moe

This tweak kind of got lost inside the massive OPTIMIZE_PARTS thread. But I'd like to try this on its own especially as most of my performance issues are when flying into heavy cloud from ASN. What results are people getting with this during dense cloud flights?
