I find at Dawn (like FSX) the night lighting doesn't stay on long enough and at Dusk it doesn't come on soon enough, FSX had this problem. Sometimes during the transition periods its way way to dark to not have night lighting. Anyways, is there a way to adjust this in P3D? Cheers!

I've been getting brief flashes of spiking in both 2.4 and 2.5 as I pan around. Is this normal? Never had it in FSX. This is a fairly new card that I bought specifically for P3D. My settings aren't maxed at all. I do have cloud shadows enabled on low quality at 40k distance. Tessellation is on high. i2500 3.3 GTX660 3Gb 4Gb RAM Win7 64bit

Hi folks from a frustrated pilot. Two flights today from egpf to egnx on vatsim and both OOM with ding ding ding gone while in decent. I've got my settings working fine with what I want from my P3D, with LOD radius set to max I'm getting 34-35FPS, so I'm quite happy with what I get. Only every couple of times I start up P3D, the LOD radius slider is set back to one step below max and every time I set it back to max, it sticks for a little while, but after starting the program a few times, it's changed to one step below max again. What can I do to make sure the settings stay as I set them up?

What Parameter controls the HDR strength in p3d? I have my bloom set up the way i like it but I feel there is too much difference between the brightness of the aircraft panel an the outside world. For example when I look out the windscreen the panel becomes too dim, almost like what happens with a camera but no the human eye, basically I want less hdr range. Ive read all the hdr stickies and threads but none seem to discuss the hdr range.

I am becoming one frustrated simmer with P3D now... I have used UT2 in FSX and enjoy it, but is there a better one for P3D users? I would love to see a dedicate native P3D only version that will take advantage of all the new technology that it has to offer andkilling off FSX for good. Actually would like to see more P3D optimized scenery, aircraft and other addons. It will be a great leap into the future of flights Simming. Kind of how Apple switched from PPC to Intel. A bold move that but for the better.

The results from the videos look much better than the FSX/P3d 2/ORBX default trees and some of the tree models look even more realistic than the Zinertek Tree Environment X, which is a similar product for FSX and P3d 2.

Just a quick note, in case anybody else experiences similar issues. I just installed a fresh copy of V2.5. Unfortunately everytime I loaded it, it would end in an almost instant BSOD with the error code 0116. A bit of googling suggested this to be the graphics card. The only thing I could think of was that I leave my AMD R9270X's in crossfire all the time. Turning this feature off solves the problem. Obviously P3D isnt geared towards crossfire anyhow, but this was never an issue with earlier versions. I have thought the BSOD's were due to me overclocking my system, but I have since proved this not to be the case. Thanks Tom

Hello all I just got my first OOM while flying (also for the first time) the pmdg 777. I know, it is a very intense aircraft, however, after I loaded a fresh flight at stock EHAM, and I start with over 2.7 of vas usage, which after takeoff is increased to 3 + already. What about you? My settings are "high"lod, 2x normal autogen, and no shadows except coulds till 10000. What are you experience for VAS usage? And hwo to tune ti correctly? vkr victor

Hi Guys, I would like to know how I can change the default position of the aircraft in spot view on startup. I don't care for the 1/4 front view and would like to see the airplanes from the side. I don't know how to edit the cameras or even where to start. I tried the FSX trick and placed the airplane in the position and saved as a default flight but when I selected the next plane it reverted back to the 1/4 front view. This has been bothering me for a while but I really need to figure this out once and for all. I mostly plane watch so when I click the next plane then I have to manually turn the plane with the keys which does because a pain after a while.I would appreciat…

I do have some problems with OOM sometimes. Should I stop thinking about these add-ons? Anybody knows if they use up a lot of VAS? I just don't want to buy any more software that I can´t use. REX ACCUFEEL GSX VOXATC FS2CREW

Added Fly Tampa KMDW to v2.5 the other day and have flown a couple of sorties into there with my PMDG 738; however, last arrival on the ILS04R had many but not all area (not airport) buildings (the autogen types) floating around at about pattern altitude. Looked like a stage setting for the movie "Up." I have ORBX Base, Vector and FTX NA on top of FS Global 2010 mesh. I ran the Vector airport tool and it has not added KMDW to the disable list and of course there are no elevation errors in the area. Is this just a quirk or do others have suggestions?

Not sure really where to put this,here or on the painters forum. This seems to happen more on P3d than fsx so guess it might be more p3d related. I have been making plans using AIFP and the many hundreds of Ai textures for quite a while and incorporate them into fsx and p3d using the add scenery option,(one folder for both sims)however I've noticed that in P3d the ai aircraft initial all start completley black before going to the asigned textures some change very quickly others it takes a few seconds. If I turn away and then back again sometimes they are still fully textured and other times they are black again any ideas what the cause of this is Cheers

Here's my argument. I've been flying full P3D for about 2-3 weeks. One week with my GTX970. As I have reported around some other post I am getting superb performance. For example I am flying right now JFK-PUJ on the NGX. In FSDT JFK and the NGX and 45% UT2 AI traffic I was getting 2 4AVG frames. Using ASN for weather. The thing is, I have not seen any weather scenario where I can see Volumetric Fog being used. I have flown in less than optimal weather about 3-5 SM Vis, Yet Volumetric fog was not actively used. Instead I had a cloud overcast layer and then haze around the airport. Back to my current flight. Just for giggles I turned of Volumetric Fog in the settings. I ga…

Hello, I am a passionate simmer. I think I do nothing else but searching for the holy grail of smoothness in flight simulator. Every day, I try to test different settings searching for it but until now I have not found it. I feel a little sad that after so many money spent in flight simulator, I still have not what I want. What drives me to write this post, is users expressions of ''smooth'' or ''butter smooth'' flight. And I would like to ask you hardcore flight simmers. I just did my first P3D flight in the NGX DFW-MIA (FSDT-LatinVFR). I was getting 30+FPS and it was very smooth on final, very happy with the results. However, the AA isn't the greatest and I can live with it, but I'm worried about Performance when I'm flying into areas like New York, Miami etc with a lot of cloud cover. So, should I use DSR or stick with what I have? What are most people using in P3D, I'm very new at this and if there is a DSR guide (I don't know anything about it) can someone send a link? win7x64 i2500k OC 4.8ghz GTX 970

I'm not sure what else you would call it. But occasionally in planes there are clickable functions that I can't find a keyboard mapping to via P3D - Settings - Control or FSUIPC vast pull down of commands. Is there a way to create one or is that something between P3D, FSUIPC and/or the plane creator? Example off the top of my head is with an A2A 172/182 plane and the Davtron clock. I just installed P3D 2.5 on a new installation of Win 8.1. I am upgrading from P3D 1.4. Everything seems to work okay but the problem I am having is these lines/boxes around all airport lights. Anyone know how to get these to go away?? Thanks!

Im looking for a pmdg quality ga airplane for p3d, how does aerosofts twin otter stack up? I was thinking about going for the majestic q400 but really I want a ga airplane more than a regional airliner. How about the c441? I dont know if I should go with one of these or wait for the p3d turbine duke.
