Can someone help out with the proper technique on how to prep for installing 2.5. I currently have 2.4 installed with a few add-ons. Do I delete this, keep the add-ons, wipe everything...etc.? I don't know. Is there an installation guide? How does one keep the add-ons without re-installing? These are things I need to know. Thank you. Gus Lane

Has anyone had success using Friendly Panels in P3D (Ver2.5) specifically the Proline 21 install for the default Beech 350. Would appreciate some help in this matter. Bob

As My title says, I am looking for an honest opinion on the latest version of P3d, Ok some back ground had 2.4 could not get it smooth ALWAYS stuttered in turns and sideways views regardless of scenery and aircraft. I know that Vsynch plays a part here and it still is not implemented via NI not at this time has Nvidia supported with a custom made profile. So basically gave up after trying anything and everything and got a refund...so cannot get another refund now if I start again and re purchase hence this e mail.. System is I7 2600 OC to 4.5 GTX 770 4GB 16 GB corsair RAM so not the fastest but not a slouch. I see a lot of good things being said about P3D …

Guys, I just finished a 13 hour flight in P3D 2.5. So far, very pleased... Both departure and arrival was very smooth, and so I was one happy bunny! To give you a quick idea of what I was running: 1) T2G VHHH 2) FTX:G 3) REX4 4) ASN 5) FSDT KLAX --

I figured I'd post here since this forum gets more traffic... Upon loading a saved flight in P3D, keypresses become extremely delayed. For example, if I want to go to an external view, I press S normally. However, if I load a saved flight, I'll have to hold down the S key for about 1 or two seconds: P3D will pause, and then finally switch to the external view and un-pause itself. By pause, the sim simply stops/freezes momentarily- it doesn't enter the pause mode. Anyone have any ideas?

Hey all, It seems that i just cant get P3D as smooth as i had FSX, visually P3D wins hands down over FSX. I am using the NGX with P3D and the sim feels very choppy ect... Hi everybody, I would like to restore my Prepar3d v2 default clouds but I have lost the backup folder where REX saves all the default textures prior to the first install of any REX textures. Does anybody know whether it is possible to extract the default cloud textures from the installer files without having to reinstall Prepar3d all over? My system runs absolutely fine and I would hate to do a full reinstall. Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

At the moment, I have a vanilla P3D v2.1.1 ( no add-ons whatsoever) running in W7, and I was wondering if there is a need for a registry fix for P3D, such as the Flight 1 fixer, available for FSX. Specifically:- 1) Has anyone come across the same problems in P3D that the registry fix corrected in FSX 2) Can the Flight 1 registry fix be adapted for P3D ? 3) If I placed a dummy FSX.exe in the P3D main directory, and used the registry fix ( in order to point FSX add-on installers to P3D ) what would be the impact on the functionality of the Flightsim Estonia migrator tool ? ( I'd like to have the Estonia tool available, just in case I need it. ) Any info …

First - a disclaimer - I know NOTHING about scenery. SItuation is this - I have UTX, UTX Europe, FTX Global, OpenLC Europe, Orbx Norway, PNW, Vector. I have no add on airports installed. I have two (so far) airports where I have trees and houses on the taxiways. Currently scenery cfg has all UTX items on top with the OpenLC entries sandwiched between the UTX Vegetation and urban landclass - below that is all the orbx sceneries - Vector is disabled. If I disable the UTX exclusion file OR if I disable the FTX Global Airports file - the trees disappear. What I'm trying to understand is what exactly tells P3d to place trees on the taxiway or in reverse - w…

The only thing that has me holding back is having to repurchase all those add-ons again, or do I? Are there any add-ons that offer discounts if you own a previous version? I am just getting tired of tweaking the old girl to just fly occasionally, and I mean occasionally because so much time is spent messing with her.

Hi i have not been able to download and install P3D v2.5, I'm still flying with V2.4... simply do not have the time (or maybe I'm lazy) to download and reinstall all the addon (I can fly barely 15-30 minutes in the evening). I am pondering about what exactly I'm missing, and if i should sacrificate an evening for setup and internet connection to download it... I read the changelog and some thread on the forum but opinions do not seem univocal What are the main differences? FPS? Graphics? Also are ORBX scenery compatible with the new FTX Central (V2) and ORBX 02/2015 libraries for pr3d? thank you very much!! Alessandro

Hi all I sometimes come across what can only be described as 'blobby' lights in P3D - over exposed halo. Are there any light replacement packages that anyone can recommend for P3D? I remember using UTX light replacement in FSX (I think it was UTX) and they were pretty good - but that was a while ago. Cheers

After not loading P3D for a few weeks, a really strange thing happened to my default Maule M7. I used to find it the easiest aircraft to fly, so I'm very familiar with it - it was the one I used in about 60% of my flights. Now, though, I can barely get it above tree height. Almost as soon as it's off the ground, it starts to lose lift and yaws to the left, as if something is stuck. Every flight ends in a sideways crash within 20 seconds. No other aircraft behave like this, so I don't think my controllers are at fault. Is there any way to reset a 'broken' plane? Can such a thing even happen?

Good evening, I am a recent convert to P3D from FSX (This week). As I am bringing some aircraft over, I am noticing that the textures while in VC mode, actually even in spot mode, are not as crisp/sharp as they are in FSX. They are a bit fuzzy and have soft edges. Is there a simple setting I am missing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello everyone, I have been using vPilot for a while now and have recently found out that I can use the FTX AU AI traffic 4.20 for model matching with vPilot with the FTX AI .vmr file. However when trying to download from the ORBX website, the download stops and says that it is finished at around 130MB. Is this a problem with the ORBX website at the moment? My friend also tried Chrome and Internet Explorer and he couldn't download it either. Thanks in advance for your help

Basically, all you have to do is edit your cameras.cfg to add up to 16 shader effects to the views you want. P3D ships with example shaders. Fisheye, for example, perfectly works in VC view when added : Now, this leads me to think it should be possible to implement atmospheric effects to P3D via an appropriate shader. I have the Saitek throttle quadrant and assigned the flap axis to the far right lever. It accepts the assignment and shows on the calibration screen but it does not control the flaps on any airplane. The other two levers do work to control whatever axis I assign them to. I am also having the same type of issue with my Saitek X52. I assigned the rudder axis to the wheel on the top of the throttle and it shows on the calibration screen but it won’t control the rudder. The Saitek throttle will control the simulator throttle. I have installed the three simconnect files but I’m not sure those are meant to correct this kind of problem. If I assign the same axis to the same cont…

Hi, I have a problem, the autopilot does not respond, either flying to test for "casually", or the VNAV and LNAV on, does not follow the beaten path, in short the autopilot is not working when asset may be due to failure? someone else will happen?

Reading all this recent P3D disparagement, LM not doing their job and everything, I see a fair few of Johnny-come-lately's whinging, but few of the people using P3D for a long time are complaining. Let me put it this way. Like Rob, i've spent most of a working life-time in IT, though I'm now retired. I've used FS on and off over the years in many iterations, but seriously got back in again with FSX in 2008. I do a little development. The FSX limitations were already apparent even then, and the ACES team were already gone. Hello all, first off, I apologize if this has already been addressed but in my defence, Avsim does not like 3-character search criteria. Now that I got that out of the way, has anyone installed F1 GNS 750 with the latest 2.5 patch? Upon launching a plane with the 759 I get an error saying I am running a newer non-supported version of P3D. Just would like confirmation if possible. Thanks!
