  1. I was flying the PMDG 737 NG in P3D V2.4 and after a while 30 min or so, the aircraft does not respond to my elevator or my aileron movement from my yoke. (Saitek). I was not on AP. I was flying manual and juust a moment ago it was fine. I then loaded another GA Aircraft but that did not change anything. I went to the controls to see if my X-Axis and Y-Axis was erased but it did not.. It was there. All the buttons were working from the Yoke.. so its not a connect issue. Any ideas why this could happen? How do I debug the issue to figure out the offending item including user error?

  3. So I am playing around in Prepar3D 2.4 (still haven't jumped to 2.5). I bought a new GTX 980 and installed it. I wiped the shader directory out and blew away the Prepar3D.cfg file and let it build a new one. My settings are pretty high I will admit but I did this on purpose because I wanted to watch the performance on my monitoring software. My test bed was FSDT's KLAS sitting at gate C18 with 40% AI traffic. 2048 x 2048 textures. 4x MSAA. 8x Ani. All sliders maxed on the graphics except for the mesh resolution. It's one to the left. Autogen trees/buildings are normal and scenery complexity is Extreme. Lighting is full on with cloud shadows and obje…

I recently downloaded the new NA Global airports package, I had previously downloaded the individual packages. I thought the new download would cover some airports I didn't have. Upon examination of some of the airports I find an abundance to trees. Thy're everywhere on runways, taxi ways and parking areas. How do I get rid of them or how do I uninstall this package and revert back to the orginial that didn't have this issue?

  5. Hey all, I am very new to P3D. I have P3D V2.5 installed and wondering is there active sky next which supports V2.5? I can only find versions which support 2.4? As to Rex 4 ( i already have these addons installed for FSX ) do i need to download Rex 4 again? Or can i just use the one i already have downloaded and just add the textures for P3D? Cheers

Hi Everyone; I have finally migrated to P3D now that PMDG has joined in, however I am having extremely poor performance in P3D using the NGX and 777 with addon airports (FSDT, LatinVFR, FlyTampa, FlightBeam) I am also running REX texture direct 4 with soft clouds and ASN. When I mean poor I mean that when Flying in a 3rd party airport using a 3rd party airplane with REX and ASN I'm getting around 8,10,12 FPS. I have tried playing with the P3D settings, HDR, Volumetric Fog, Shadows etc... with no luck. My System specs are the following: Mac Pro (Cylinder)- Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) running natively using BootCamp. 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 16GB 1866MHz DDR3 EC…

  7. Hey, For those who are buying this bird, can you tell your VAS usage with FTX Global and Vector at minimum. Or how much VAS is consumed on a default airport in FTX PNW for example at KSEA with external views etc. I want to know if the VAS usage is lower than the 777 P3D version. Thanks, -S

It may have been mentioned before (couldn't find anything), but when switching form cockpit to outside view of the A2A Simulations Cessna 182 and the frame or textures take a little time to load, you can see a stowaway in the baggage compartment of the A2A Cessna 182. Or am I hallucinating?

Some folks may already know this, but add or change this setting in your Prepar3D.cfg [Display] TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=160 This works very well for my Titan Black, went from 30 fps to 42 fps with no stutters. Default value is 30. I must admit, it was the FSX:SE thread and I think Vic that mentioned this ... so give them (or others) full props. Cheers, Rob.

Hi Together, i hope this is the right forum for my question. I have the following system: 5820K @ 4,8 Ghz without HT 16 GB DD4 2400 Mhz CL12 RAM GTX970 G1 Gamer ( soon SLI) with one Asus 24" 120 Mhz Monitor GTX750Ti for the Second Asus 24" Monitor for EFB, ASN .... Only P3d Installed on a 250 GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD Now my question i found that i get nearly the same frames with my CPU set to Stock Speed ( 3,6 Ghz) as with 4,7 Ghz ? I can see that the CPU has "time" left so the most of the time the cores are between 40-70 % sometimes with spikes to 90 % only the Main Tread is at 100% most of the time. The GPU is mostly between 44 to 7…

  11. Hi all, After the latest hotfixes, I decided to go on a full scale re-install of my system. So, I formated my computer and installed in the following sequence the following: 1) Windows 7 x64 Ultimate 2) All Gigabyte Z77X-D3H oficial drivers (sound, usb, etc) 3) Latest Nvidia driver 347.52 for my GTX970 3) Remaining Windows 7 system updates 4) Chrome, Winrar, Adobe Reader 5) TrackIR 5.2.2, PFPX v1.9, TOPCAT, Navigraph Desktop Charts …and then I installed Prepar3D using the unziped folder from “Prepar3D_v2_Academic_2.5.12943.0.zip” which I downloaded directly from my account. The problem is that after installation (which hangs a lot at the end of it, but it finali…

  12. Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone here can help with this while I wait for access to the Milviz forum. Anyhow just purchased the B55 for P3D 2.4 and download it with my virus protection off. However when I install it everything is fine, but it looks like from the install list that a lot of files were skipped? And when it is complete there is no aircraft in the Simobjects/Airplane folder. Not sure why it is not installing all the files and gives me no error message. Also my my UAC is off and my virus software is off? Any thoughts. Thanks in advance... Martin

A friend of mine asked me to take a look at an issue he was having with no wet runways showing in P3D v2.5 and what I have found was kind of interesting. Keep in mind I am not a P3D user yet but definitely considering the switch. I have fsxse where I want it to be, so back to the alleged bug. Scenario You open P3D v2.5 at the menu you choose your settings, weather, etc... start the flight, its raining and no wet runway. :( Solution Disable the startup menu on startup, restart the sim and within the sim create a flight. Now you should have wet runway effect. or just change you p3d.cfg not to show start menu..... Please note this issue did not exist in v2…

  17. I have just migrated and, before losing the details, I thought it might be useful for others considering their own migration. I can only, of course, say what my own migration process was today, because I have an inevitably unique set of add-ons. The installation sequence was as follows: Prepar3D 2.5 plus any available hot-fixxes ActiveSky Next SP2 beta PMDG 777-200LRF Base PMDG 777-300ER extension + liveries from PMDG Operation Center Estonia Migration Tool (I don't know what I would have done without it!) Hi folks, me again. Got the fps stable now. But I now have another problem..... Blurry ground textures. The textures are quite blurry until I start climbing at which point textures near the aircraft and in distant start to sharpen up somewhat. I've tried many tweaks and this morning I have deleted my p3d config file and rebuilt it and only added the affinity mask, texture max load of 6, fiber fraction of 0.33 and terrain swap out time to 30. Those are the tweaks suggested by the p3d performance tunning guide. I just can't seem to get crisp textures. 23. Just brought PMDG T7 for P3D and did a test flight. It worked good most of the time but In heavy airport, I got very strong shuttering. GPU-Z shows GPU load is 100% in demanding situation. I currently have a 680 with 2Gb of ram. The card works well in fsx but I am not sure if P3D would get any better if i upgrade to...like 970 or 980?

Hello fellow simmers. I just bought P3D again after refunding it a few months ago and i thought i would give it another shot. Now it runs smoothly locked in at 30. I just wanted to know if any of you guys here are having any error problems with active sky next saying "ASN cannot control ambient weather parameters correctly, thus it cannot function properly at this point and will shut down." Maybe is it because ASN is still in 2.4? Thanks '
