Seeking some input from others who have tried or are using the leap motion with VR and flyinside. First off.. i cant get the lcds to shut off if the usb connection for the leap is active.. unsure what to do about this aside from remembering to pull the usb connection off the leap itself. The leap software is set to power down the connection when idle. Other questions.. related to the hands in cockpit.. is it just me or is it very buggy and cumbersome to get them to work all the time.. often the motions dont work and i can do the same task in 1/10 the time using a mouse.. perhaps there are settings to adjust in flyinside that may make it work better, or in the…

Hi Folks, Question: Did Aerosoft ever resolve the initial reported performance issues on KASE ??? Is it working better than when it was first released ??? I recall seeing massive performance issues reported without a response on Sacramento X and Nassau X (developer now on my no-fly list) - - - but I believe that KASE was a different developer... Hopefully this will help others who might experience CTD's with the latest version of P3D. I had a successful flight from KLAX to KSFO yesterday with the PMDG 737, AS16 weather, ProATC-X, and flying over Orbx/FTX Southern California. I had disabled Orbx's ObjectFlow for P3D as it still required an update for the latest version of P3D. Last night though, when opening P3D, I got a message that ObjectFlow had been updated and I allowed the update. Restarted P3D and no problems when I tried the same scenario from KLAX to KSFO. However I had to shutdown the sim early as I had AVSIM office work to do and did not try again until today. Today, I loaded the PMDG 737 at KL…

Unrelated to the new v3.2 install is that I cannot seem to save a scenario any longer. P3D crashes every time I select the Scenario/Save option. I also cannot load a scenario. On trying to load any scenario P3D asks whether I'm sure I want to exit P3D... I thought these issues might have been eliminated with the latest upgrade, but they haven't been. I've also tried a new p3d.cfg - no difference. Any thoughts?

I have for a long time used a second monitor to display pop-up displays for the 737 in my home cockpit. Suddenly this stopped working the other day (for any airplane), and I have not been able to get it to work again. My setup consists of 3 22 inch monitors set up in surround and fourth monitor which is my main desktop monitor. These are connected to the same graphics card, GTX1070. I also have two secondary monitors, a small LG touchscreen and a second 22 inch monitor that I use for the gauges and panels. These are connected to an older graphics card , GTX560Ti. The older graphics card has run the 2-D panels for the 737 mfd and other systems without problems…

Quando lancio OrbxFTXGlobalVector140, all'interno della Orbx cartella \ FTX_VECTOR non vengono create le cartelle FTX_VECTOR_AEC e FTX_VECTOR_APT. I have been using the free airports packages for North America and Europe for many months and really like them. I notice now on the Orbx web site, it says you need the Orbx base pack for $99 to use these free airports, which is not true and it never stated that before. I do not have and have never had the Orbx basepack and the airport packs work perfectly. I'll start-off by saying I'm not very tech savvy, so hopefully my question isn't too foolish. I currently run FSX acceleration (boxed) on an i5 2500k (overclocked ~4,3 gb), 8 gb ram, and GTX 1060 (3gb), operating on Windows 7, with a large suite of Saitek controls and instruments. I am thinking it might be time to try out Prepar3d, v 3,4 but I understand (??) that it is recommended it operate in Windows 10, presumably to take advantage of its 64 bit environment(??). However, I am also reading that FSX users, particularly those using Saitek devices, are having quite a few problems getting it stabilized in Win 10. My question is what do I lose in operating Prepar3…

Hi, Rex released WW Airport textures for default airports. They advertise: Experience airports in TRUE high definition... What is TRUE HD? As far as I know....1080p I have searched high and low (web site, manual, etc) but couldn't find any info about the texture resolutions. Does anyone know what it is? Their application has HD and SD setting: SD = 1024x1024 px? HD = 2048x2048 px? I'm only interested if HD is not 4096 because of increased VAS usage. EDIT: One more question.... The default P3D airport texture resolution, is that 512 or 1024 px?

Hi Avsim Community.. hopefully someone maybe could point me in the right direction on what is wrong here.. To put it short, whenever I install REX soft cloud or REX textures into P3D they do not cast shadows. At all. But whenever I re-install P3D content and Client, when the clouds are back to default, the shadows work. What could be wrong here? I have the latest P3D V3 version. Thanks for any help in advance

I installed version 1.52 using FTX Central 3 and now FTX England is completely broken. There are trees in the sea around the Isle of Wight, and random tiles, some with water, appear whilst fling over land. I've raised offiial requests with Orbx who told me to seek help from their forum. My post there has yielded no reponse. I would dearly like to uninstall the upgrade and reinstall the original version of FTS England, prior to SP5, which worked beautifully. At airports as LFMN or KJFK there are powerfull lighting towers at night ment to illuminate the environment. My own 320 as other airliners too, remain rather dark when moving on the tarmac (only tail section is lit - plane is black) Any advice to lighten things up a bit ? HDR makes no difference on taxiing planes. Planes moving to the gates are suposed to be lighted by gigantic light masts, no ?

I'm having an issue with GEX suddenly.. i was trying to uninstall things to install FTXG.. i had a backup folder for the GEX files.. upon disabling/uninstalling in the GEP3D window, it didnt restore the textures.. Then i thought, ok, ill use a clean copy of p3d and start fresh with GEX.. so i ran the wizard again, enabling GEP3D, but nothing got backed up to the backup folder. I'm at a loss here.. i need to at least get a fresh install and the backup done from that so i can restore the files to my main p3d folder.. unless there is some manual way of doing this.. Has anyone ran into this? Thanks

Hi, I purchased 3 Orbx/Ftx DVD's (one from FlightStore and two from PC Aviator) about 4 years ago, and installed them on a PC that I have now replaced. So I have not used these products since and I have forgotten completely how to start using them again on the new PC. The DVD's were for USA Canada Pacific Fjords 1.0 , USA Canada Northern Rockies 1.0 and Unitied States Central Rockies 1.0. How do I start afresh and get back into using Orbx/FTX ? Thanks Ray

If you are a MyTraffic 6 user I'm sure you are getting tired of seeing all those FedEx aircraft at every airport you take off from or land at. This morning I landed at Orbx Global Grand Canyon Airport (KGCN) and there were 5 FedEx B727s parked in the general aviation parking area. Are they flying in construction supplies for a new Trump hotel? That was the last straw so I got rid of the FedEx aircraft in MyTraffic. Here are the culprits. Hi guy's, as I know nothing about afcads for P3D, do I need to do anything? I'm using Orbx scenery with a few of their airport sceneries as well, Flytampa, Flightbeam, Fsdt, Taxi2gate, Imagesim, GSX, Rex4, HD Airports, Pro atc, AS16, Mytraffic 6 and I read about afcads, so do I need to do anything in regards to afcads, if it makes the experience any better where do I get them and what do I do with them, is there some form of guide on this somewhere that I could be pointed too? I was wondering how come my system drive grew so big and tonight I decided to go to the bottom with it. Also the system drive on my laptop (also a Win 10 computer) is some 20 GB smaller and I haven't that many applications installed on my main PC that I don't have on my laptop and certainly not installed onto the system drive so this made me even more suspicious. I went ahead and downloaded the free Treesize application and what I found was very interesting! As you can see from the screenshot below I have 3 subfolders located under C:\ProgramData\Package Cache and they all seem to belong to P3D and the total amount of space these 3 subfolders occupy is roughly 20 GB!…

This is my first shot at testing out SLI, ever..so i may be missing things here. I have two Nvidia Hybrid FTW's in SLI.. i used the asus sli ribbon cables, both of them, to sli the setup. In Nvidia control panel it says SLI mode. I first tested 2D P3D, no change in performance there, but that was expected. Then i tried flyinsideFSX and P3D.. same exact performance.. Flyinside reports sli is enabled. I see the same 23-25 fps with 3 layers of thick clouds + rain + ut2 traffic + xpoi airports enabled in VR that i did before, nothing has changed. Is there perhaps some NI settings that need set, or something else I may be missing. I knew there would…
