In my never ending quest to make P3d more inefficient, I stumbled across this thread: http://www.avsim.com/topic/485840-autogen-question/?hl=%2Bimage+%2Bpixels+%2Bautogen#entry3395121 It discusses this entry in the cfg file: [TERRAIN] IMAGE_PIXELS_FOR_AUTOGEN_POLYGONS=16 The values range from 16 (80 m rasterization) to 2048 (0.5 m) and the default (at least for FSX) is 16. The entry controls how accurately autogen trees are placed within a polygon, with the default value being the least accurate rasterization of the polygon. I only ran across this cfg entry while creating an airport for my own personal use. Even at 2048, the setting doesn't seem to impact …

Hi Rob, We are a few that suspect FTX Global MESH to have a VAS memory sort of item. We are also a few at the thread of P3D3.4.9 experience thread that can reproduce a VAS memory hog in at least London Would you mind to do the same test with us ? The test is EGLL at 27L BGK7G and monitor VAS all the way from departure to at least TOTRI Note: Take VERY close note between BGK an TOTRI (about 7.1nm from TOTRI) Thanks Michael Moe

Hi to all I am still quite new to P3D and have a question: Aren't the Runway-lights supposed to work when there is rain or bad visibility? For example, i am at Nice LFMN right now (Payware for P3D version) and the weather is quite bad. But i can't see any the Runway- and taxiways-lights. The lights work during night but not now. The actual METAR is LFMN 141130Z 05018KT 8000 -TSRA SCT016 FEW026CB BKN033 17/15 Q1005 NOSIG). I am using ActiveSky, that works perfectly. The wet-effects on the Runway looks amazing, only the lights are missing. Thank you very much for your help (if someone know). Cheers Franz

Hi Guys, I have these 2 problems and need a solution please. Any help is appreciated. 1) My airfield makers( signage) seems to be floating instead of being on the ground. 2) There is a ghostly effect when i take off and on flight. What should i do to resolve this please. Regards

I can't afford pmdg right now and I don't think it would run well on my specs and I want to have a life. I have the QW757 and I do like that a lot, but I would like a nice 737-700 or 800 I think I could a lot done with one of those. Any recommendations? I want something with a nice VC and hopefully a FMC of some sort. I don't want something where you have a default pop up gps. Thanks.

Hello, does anyone know why there has been no announcement of FTX Germany on the AVSIM front page? I think this has been a major release and in my opinion it would have belonged there. I even traced back the front page for the last half of a year and while there are announcements of updates of even little freeware tools there has been no mention of any ORBX product at all. Certainly, someone has to submit an announcement first. However, I did that. I tried it twice via the web interface without success in September. Hi all im using P3D 3.4. . when i start a scenario after about 5 seconds. P3D shuts down and disappears completely. I find this only happens at UK airports !!!! i have disabled all my orbx products and it still crashes. i have repaired P3D and have reinstalled the v3.4 updates. But still no luck, i have looked at the event viewer.... but its giving me no fault path. any ideas other than a complete new install?

I installed Orbx trees last night, and today I noticed on a long flight that my FPS which has been flawless since I got P3D is now kind of jittering around instead of staying right at 30FPS where I have it locked. I also notice that I see auto gen popping up, which I never noticed before. The thing I like about P3D the most is it's smoothness, and it looks like these trees have messed that up. Is there anyway to get back to the default trees?

Has anyone here tested FS2Crew Voice or Button control in Prepare 3D, such as the default 737 version?I haven't purchased a subscription yet, but am curious to know if my software works okay.It should work fine, but you never know.Cheers,

Hi everyone I updated p3d to the latest version and it was not straight forward. It took a few attempts to get it working again and when I did I thought I would check my orbx scenery. It was all messed up and I have had to re install it all as fx central 2 would not work. Anyway all went well until I came to my pilots fx2010 global terrain software. I downloaded all the files from flight sim store (about 22Gb) and set the install wrapper going (after un installing it using the built in app) the wrapper asks which version of the installation I want, so I choose p3d v3, it then says it's getting ready to install and then when it says it's ready to install I press ok and it…

This has no doubt come up numerous times, but i haven't found an answer that works yet... I can't get any version of Simconnect to install on my P3D machine. Am I missing the obvious?

In FSX my cockpits are crystal clear and the colors sharp but in P3D they are fuzzy/blurry and washed out. Thoughts please?

Does photosceney in P3D do the same as FSX, as in all load at start up?

Wondering if anyone has had success in VR land, using ezdok? I read awhile back there were issues with it and with vr, i cant seem to find where i saw that or what those issues were? I'm thinking if it did work, that in conjunction with DWVAC voice commands to trigger various views might be quite good. Thanks in advance

I run 2 networked PCs and use KVR (Input Director) using one keyboard and mouse for both. No issues whatsoever but suddenly today as soon as the mouse touches the screen edge a semi transparent ATC menu appears and I have not been able to turn it off. The ATC setting are disabled since I do all my flying on Vatsim. Grateful for any feedback. regards

Hello All, I recently started noticing a new issue with some of my aircraft effects and even the lights on my AI. It seems as though they are flashing rather rapidly and I cant seem to nail down what it is. Is there a corruption in my effects folder? It happens with any smoke effect or lighting effects on my ai and even at certain airports such as Flytampa and some others. Any help would be appreciated, I have attached a short video to demonstrate the problem.
