Took my first truly immersive level flight in P3D v5.x this morning...and man, did I miss GSX and all its wonderful immersion level features and visuals. Nah...P3D ain't ready for the Flight Sim Retirement Home, any time soon. So many great features, AND...visuals...that MSFS in present form has not eclipsed. Will be run, side by side.. Glad I didn't, in the MSFS fervor,...delete it. Same for v4.4

Hi all, I've noticed for the first time (after many years simming!) That if I trim back, I lose full forward elevator effectiveness, and the same vice versa trimming full forward. This hasn't been an issue until I got a Brunner FFB yoke which ignores the internal trim position and does its own thing. Does anyone know how I can get full range of elevator motion without having to move the in-sim trim? Help greatly appreciated, James

Hi... I have a slight dilemma that I'm hoping someone here will have some insight to.... I'm running P3Dv4.5 and all its addon's on my D: drive. My Win10 system is on my C: drive. I recently had Win10 get corrupted and had to have the C: drive wiped clean and Win10 reinstalled, while the D: drive was left alone. Obviously there are some system files that P3D puts out there as it will not run now....I get an error msg on startup that says "The license type is undefined due to an unsuccessful installation" Lorbi's Add On organizer (also installed on D) shows all of my manual addons as green, but the P3D default stuff (all the areas and base folders) are pur…

Hi guys, Looks like I have finally achieved on what I have been wanting to do for a while with my hardware. I figured out the trick for people with 8GB video cards and having at minimum 30fps with the following addons installed - including one of the most fps hit area that has plagued almost all of us for ages. Finally pulled off Slick FPS at 30fps with 30hz 4K monitor (TL/DR - see also pics) - My VRAM stayed around 5.2GB in SoCaL area with all that autogen and flying. AT KORD area it jumped to 6gb but still tons left. with Set the following in P3Dv5 and CPU - My tweaks are even less in the second round but the addons complexity increased insanely. …

Hi Community, I would like to create my own static camera view outside the airplane, e.g. a better tower view in P3D v4.5 (or to have a better view over the airfiled, a position, I want to create myself to have a nicer look at airplanes without paying for ezdoc or chaseplane) Is that possible and how can I do it exactly. Hi there, I have a problem with my scenery. Please see the issue in the attached screenshot: https://imgur.com/RGmYX5C Strange lines appear when looking upside down on airport as well from distance. I have the suspicion that it has something to do with runway or photo scenery. I tried disable some bgl files but to no avail. Could someone suggest me what the problem could be and how to solve? In P3Dv5 when whitecaps appear on waves in the water, they seem to occur only in a small radius around the aircraft. I'm curious to know if there is any way to make the radius larger. Thanks. Don

Hello, I am trying to use Autopilot (from Avsim) in the Cera Sim Bell 412, but unfortunately it causes me problems with the rudder. I have tried to change aircraft.cfg and modify the autopilot yaw part but not results. I have seen a Prepard3D forum post of a person who created a gauge to have the autopilot panel on the main panel. Does anyone have it? Bad textures, low frame rates, bad modelling... Am I the only one who thinks that SimWings LHR is really bad?! Even with sliders pulled to the left it performs really badly and doesn't even look that great. It's probably the worst performing airport out there. Why haven't any decent scenery developers tried to do it?

Hello guys, is there a chance to peform a push in at some airports like EDLW? I remember that GSX wants to create a push in feature years ago. Are there any other ideas?

As some of you know I use two screens one above the other. I was round a mates house and he just got a second screen. The FPS in the NGXu are not great but "we" found a trick to double your fps. pop one of the ND's etc out and undock it, move it to a second screen or if you don't have a second screen pop open a screen and move it to the very bottom of screen (out of view) It took his FPS from 30 to 62. I still don't have it personally so I hope Eric does not mind me contributing this time^^

Hello, everyone. I am having very big problems in P3Dv4. My specs are really, really bad for flight simming: it is a laptop with i7 620M, 6GB RAM, GT435M, 500GB HDD. In PMDG aircraft I get solid 20-22 fps on relatively low settings, but whenever I want to fly during nights, FPS drops to less than 5. I know that shouldn't be the case because I did not have these problems in FSX never. FPS was the same during days and nights. I have to tell, FPS is not always low during nights. When I turn more and more lights in PMDG or MJC Q400 it starts lagging. If I turn on like NAV lights, it is ok, but if I turn 1-2 more lights it drops very high. With all the important outside l…

Hello, I feel like I may be the odd one out here, but I am seeing far better performance in v4 over v5 on my system. I have tested both versions with the same addons and v4 yields better performance overall. I am not measuring this based strictly on FPS, but more so how smooth the sim runs. If I use Riva Tuner in v5, I continue to get stutters and am unable to lockdown the FPS, but if I use RivaTuner in v4, I can lock at 30FPS without any stuttering. Is p3dv5 technically still in beta?

Hi, keeping it short: P3d V5 HF2 QW 787 latest Service Pack (aug 2) Aircraft, while flown seldom has performed as designed at least once I have been putting in some serious hours with PMDG AC FMC and I have adequate skills to fully use the FMC from takeoff to landing Starting yesterday, after just having flown this flight plan successfully the day before (KLAXKJFK) the Aircraft repeatedly performs a series of events which result in a spectacular crash in less than two minutes. I have used MSI afterburner and RTSS for p3dv4.5 successfully for frame rate limiting (x/2) and OSD monitoring. But now with v5 it seems not to work anymore. Neither does it limit fps nor can I see it monitoring. I'd like to add that with MSFS the MSI AB / RTSS combination works just fine. Is there a special trick to get it to work with p3Dv5?

I installed p3d v5 to F:\program files and now getting some add on install issues. I thought it was that I was not admin, but I am an admin. I tried making a sym link to f:\lockheed martin\p3dv5, but I still get issues creating folders and files. admin has full control to F:. I try running the installer as admin, but still have issues. The error is "setup cannot create the file or folder". In Windows Explorer I can create files and directories... I don't see errors in the windows event logs. Any ideas?

One of the things I notice as most striking in MSFS is the ability to construct sunsets & sunrises with quite strong red & pink tonings. Via manipulating the weather, cloud cover, time of day & so on. I went back to P3D v4.5 to try & replicate this, but so far can't get the red/pink into it. Yet a year or so ago I could get good red/pink/gold sunsets, then there was an update of something, & they went away I am using P3D v4.5, Active Sky, ASC & Rex Sky Force. PTA is also on board. Each year, been doing this for 8 years, I fly out of Philadelphia (Kphl), after visiting my elderly Aunt and return to Australia. The American Airlines (AAL) flight departs Philadelphia some time between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, sometimes direct to KLAX, other times with a short stop over at KATL or KPHX.
