Hi all, I'm on a completely fresh install of P3D and it seems my contrails are appearing too bright and white for night flying. I notice it most in the PMDG 747 using the immersion pack, They are as bright at night than they are during day flight. Does anyone else experience this or know of a fix? Thank you 🙂

This seems very strange. I am using the Carenado Saab 340 and the Fuel capacity in the aircraft.cfg file reads 850 gallons, the actual RW capacity is 5,690 lbs. The P3D "Fuel and Payload" screen shows 850 gallons, the same as the aircraft.cfg file. That's fine, it's reading it properly. Has P3D always shown gallons of fuel, I thought we could change that in preferences? All other items are shown as lbs. I didn't notice this in other versions of P3D. Even so, if I convert the 850 gallons to lbs (850 x2.2) it comes to approx. 1,870 lbs.Capacity. way off the RW capacity of 5,690 lbs. I have to say that LM did an amazing job improving the simulator even further. Fortunately I'm not experiencing issues I keep hearing about on the forum, except for one in particular issue and I feel like it's more the operator than the software. Using the latest build of Active Sky, I'm not able to get clouds to display. Temperature, visibility and pressure is correct but the sky is always clear. When I open the P3D weather menu and select the Active Sky theme I see clouds for a few seconds until they start to dissolve and the sky going back to clear. Hi fellow simmers, Whilst SODE has been available for some time now, I have not pay too much attention to it so far, having other simming priorities. I have several SODE compatible airports and each installed the SODE software. I've been on the SODE website https://sode.12bpilot.ch/ but did not find any user material (there's only a developer guide). I saw that 12BPILOT, the company behind SODE, also sells a visual docking guidance systems (VDGS). I'm a bit confused. Two questions: 1. This thread is about trying to solve or at least trying to minimize the clouds grid in V5.1. Everyone who wants to try to modify settings in the VolumetricClouds.cfg file ( Drive - Users - YourName - AppData - Roaming - Lockheed Martin - Prepar3Dv5 ) can post his experiences here. Anyone ever run in this issue in P3D in the past? I was sitting at the gate, all of a sudden it started showing up out of nowhere and now I can't load a flight.

Hi folks, Now sure if anyone has this problem with ImagineSim ZSPD v1.3.1 but the following issues I have encountered. Please note that I don't have any other scenery of ZSPD installed or Obrx or programs of that kind. Its P3Dv4.5 and ImagineSim that is only installed: 1). ILS DME Z runway 16R was off course. When about 200', I had to correct myself manually for landing because if I didn't, I would have landed on the taxiway. So what I did was, in the C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Scenery\1002\scenery, I changed the APX80200.bgl and APX80200.bgl.ilsbckup to the following: APX80200.bak & APX80200.bak.ilsbckup. I have been experiencing some very concerning frame loss scenarios when ulocking (undocking?) a window such as AS, VoxAtc or FS2crew and dragging them to my second monitor. They would literally drop to between 12-15fps! At first I thought it had something to do with Vsync or locked framerates and then of course, why should that suddenly appear out of nowhere? Sooo.... it appears that the Nvidia control panel is the culprit. I had been trying out limiting frames, using adaptive Vsync and a couple of other things in the list and saving the changes specific to P3d. First I thought the issue was limiting framerates in NCP and then perhaps using adaptive Vsync, but it seems, a…

Just downloaded and installed v2.22 and it works fine with P3Dv5.1 with the recent Hotfix. Also launched the Flight1 GTN Update tool and updated it to version 1.20. Things are moving in the right direction. Joe

Can I take my Aircraft from 4 to 5...???...several paywares and default's also....love 4.5 but would like to try 5.1....but with the planes I've been used to flying !! I just noticed that the FSDT airports seem messed up since I updated P3dv5 yesterday (I did reinstall Client, Content, and Scenery). I went to CYVR first, and there was a mixture of default and FSDT building, plus two control towers overlapping each other. I checked out KIAH next and it was messed up too. I ran the FSDT updater but this did not resolve the problem. I assume all of the FSDT airports are like this. Does anyone know if a complete reinstall of the FSDT airports is required? I have UK2000 and the Court Line L1011 is a tight fit. Right now I have a parking gate 17 set up with GSX to accommodate a heavy, but am concerned with traffic parking in its spot or the spots on either side. It's probably something pretty easy, but I've never done any editing like this. If you can help out, I'd appreciate it.

Back when I started simming using FSX (I know, I know - I am still a relative newbie), there was a nice little utility called FS Water Configurator. It allowed rivers and lakes and oceans to be different colors, with different wave patterns (I think). Then when I migrated to Prepar3d, starting at V1, we had the excellent water texture/color offering from REX Texture Direct. You want Dazzle? You want Sparkle? How about a 10 different types of tropical water and coral reefs? We got 'em all! Now, as of V4 when we went 64-bit we have... nothing. I'm really sad especially that I have now completed my collection of asian airports (Singapore, Tokyo, Hong-Kong, Taiwan...). Are you aware of a project of landclass for Asia by another developer? I've been playing around with the Vertx DA62 and apparently uninstalled and reinstalled it too many times. I have always pointed my Installation to C:\. I just checked my C:\ drive and noticed almost a mirror image of P3Dv5 in C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv5. I only noticed this after Updating Client, Scenery and Content this morning for P3Dv5.1 HF1. I did not Uninstall "Prepar3D v5 Academic". It looks like P3D was pointed to C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3Dv5, I did not do this. It should have updated C:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5. I am not sure what to do now. Should I copy the files over into the proper Directory or uninstall and reinstall the 3 components? I do not think I had a choice to point the install file to the proper directory path. This coul…

Hi mates, I own the PMDG 777 and I am considering to get the QW B787. 1. I know there is an option to get HD displays. Is there a huge difference with the 'standard' display? 2. It seems to me that there is an option to change the colour of the PFD (I'm refering to the blue for sky and brown for earth). Is that correct? 3. I'm very used to the PMDG system for Fuel, payload, ground equipment management, aircraft and simulations options, etc.... All is done conveniently through the FMC. I just updated to P3Dv5.1 HF1(All 3 Components were updated) and everything loads fine but when I Looked at my "Vehicle" list I could not find any of my Payware Aircraft, Carenado, Majestic, PMDG, QW, Tfdi717. These aircraft reside in the Prepar3D v5 SimObjects Folder. Do I have to reinstall these aircraft or have a missed something here? When I load the sim I also got this message: ??? Vehicle Initialization has failed for: Cessna Skyhawk F172P D-ECJB you will now be placed in visualization mode ???? I assume this is a Default Aircraft, maybe I should reinstall the "Content"? Today my Inno3D iChill X4 3090 will arrive. As performance of V5.1 is very good I am thinking that maybe I better return it and get back the 1700 euros Now using a 2080 Ti connected to 2x 4K in NVsurround. Since V5.1 + EA I already increased LOD from High to Max. EA clouds at Max. AG range still at Medium. AG vegetation still at Very Dense and AG buildings at Dense. Cloud shadows High . Clouds + Terrain cast shadows. Terrain + Objecrs receive shadows. I still use 25 hertz / Unlimited. - - Anyone of you upgraded already from a 2080 Ti to a 3090 and willing to share your experience? I recently purchased the P3D v5 and upon startup it crashes if I either use a PMDG aircraft or if I use an addon airport from FlyTampa or others. My P3d V4 has been working great but dissapointed with the v5 issues. Any help is greatly appreciated!
