Hi , I noticed my sky looks rather cartonish using latest build. Couldnt find anything in their forum but its a step down for me. Any one else having this ? Also again Vpilot is killing my FPS (it uses up to 10% CPU on my system even having allocated only one CPU core. Might try an uninstall Thanks Michael Moe

Hi, Have held off from P3D v5 for now because of the reported issues. It looks like - with a clean reinstall - many of those issues are fixed now, so I might give it a try. I understand that it does push more work to the graphics card though, right? My question is; with only a GTX970 do you think I am going to see any performance benefits from v5.1? Rest of the specs: i-8700k 16gb Ram, Windows 10 Home 64. Appreciate your opinions - many thanks, Daniel

I don't fly much at night so I didn't notice this until now, but none of my aircraft (including default aircraft) have landing lights after I updated to v5.1 with the hotfix. When looking at the landing lights in spot view I see the light on but it does not light up the ground like it should anymore.

Logo lights sometimes illuminate and sometimes does not. it does work if I load at night but if I load at dusk or dawn and then transition into day or night it does not illuminate. I do have immersion installed also but even when I didn’t it would do the same. thanks mike

Can it be that P3Dv5.1 dont support anymore the Vsync Options from Nvidia Controlpanel ? In the earlier Versions i use Tripplebuffer , Locked 30 FPS and Vsync Adaptiv 1/2 Refresh Rate in Nvidia Control Panel and in Sim no vsync and unlimited FPS. So i can play Smooth with my 60 Hz 4K Monitor without Stutters. Locked at 30 with Vsync 1/2 Refresh from 60 Hz was also 30 and therefore an smooth flying. When i try any Vsync Setting in Nvidia Controlpanel now with 5.1 i have strong Screen Tearing in Sim. Does anybody else use my Nvidia Settings ? Thanks for Feedback . After hours of trying out several things...I must say I am getting really tired of this fiddling and tweaking......try this...try that......o wait a bug......LM changed the bases....addons don´t work like they should.....Sudden weather changes.....sudden no clouds at all.....Reallight defect....and my list is getting longer and longer. V5.X changed so much.....that I think LM should have taken way more time and worked much more closer together with 3.Party as they did till today. Hi I`m considering purchase a Geneva airport scenery but which one is better? FSDT (7€) or Aerosoft (29€ -25% with code) is now on Black Friday sales. Do they both have installers for 5.1?

So I've been using SimBrief for my flight planning for a while and most of the times the correct SID is not given as an option in my aircraft (PMDG 777). So lets say hypothetically I was to fly from RCTP to VHHH, Sim brief would give me a CHALI1A departure, but my PMDG 777 FMC departure page wont have the option to select that specific departure it would have comepletely different SIDS, is it because it's outdated? I know for a fact the Sim Brief one is correct but what can I do to get that SID on my FMC? It would be appriciated if someone could help me with this, have a great day :)

I posted on Aerosoft Support forum about the simobjects of their addons shining through clouds/fog. It would be great if all of you, who have these issues (EA Mode - P3D V5.1) will reply to that message over there so that Aerosoft sees that an update is necessary. They state their addons are compatible with P3D V5.X, which they ere clearly not. It is the scenery devs who have to make updates on their products to keep them compatible. As Aerosoft states their products are compatible, we should reply to them they are not (at least not fully). Did some else noticed some sounds have bin updated? I did hear this since a few days with GSX2. Sometimes after landing I "went outside" and just walk around the area and today I noticed starting engines at the bagage trucks, GPU making lots of noise running full power serving my A320 FSLabs with power......also departing and leaving "driving engine sounds" from vehicles did not seem to be so monotone anymore but like "starting, getting ore RPM and driving away. This was indeed something I did not noticed before. It was always so monotone. Not sure how to describe my problem... the entries in add-on.cfg in User}AppDate\Roaming.. etc directory are correct the ones in Add-on.cfg in ProgramData\Lockeehd Martin too but when starting P3D there are entries missing. They are partally missing in the scenery.cfg after starting P3D. Furthermore the greyed out entries in scenery.cfg (those from Add-on.cfg) show the wrong paths. They all link to drive f:\Prepar3D V5 Add-ons... I had a look in the ProgramDate LM folder and saw a file called scenery_add-ons.xml that is generated every time i start P3D and inside are the wrong paths too... I have np clue what is going on here. Even deleting…

I made my last flight maybe two weeks ago and today after some night shifts I thought flying again to relax and fly thorugh the fog as we have in real life too. But P3D is starting, you see for around 1min the P3D screen. Then EZCA v2 comes in and in Win10 taskbar the micro icon appears. Suddenly the P3D screen disappears and thats all. Even after 30min nothing happens. In taskmanager it says it's still running using around 25-32% CPU and 666,2MB RAM.GPU is used with 1-3%. Except RAM all values are varying a bit. I did not install something new as I wanted to fly the leg back I flew two weeks ago.

Hi there, I think I messed up my 5.1hf1 update. Is there anyway to identify what I’ve done wrong from these pictures? I did follow the instructions and updated all client, content and scenery and after verified all files in ORBX. I also deleted shaders and P3D.cfg My sim was not overtaxed and runs on medium high settings at rock solid 30 FPS, and I didn’t have this problem before my update. Any tips before I uninstall and reinstall from scratch 🙏 🙏 Cheers, Pete

I currently use Envtex with ASCA and also use Envshade as I do not use EA. If I was to turn on EA mode, does it overwrite the shader files? If so, I assume one would have to reinstall the shader files again via Envdir / Envshade if I was to switch off EA to get the non-EA shader files back into the sim? I know when EA is on, ASCA is not used and Envshade is currently not compatible with EA in v5HF1, just when EA is off. Thank you

Hi, I am a Prepar3D newcomer from X-Plane, as I love flying airliners and I was unable to find PMDG/FSLabs/Leonardo SH alternatives for X-Plane. However, I am quite confused because of the hate P3D v5+ gets. How stable is v5.1 HF1 compared to v4.5 HF3? Is it indeed overall smoother and stable enough to be my main simulator? I really like the look of Enhanced Atmospherics but there are many people reporting lighting issues with it such as some regions of aircraft being dark even with direct sunlight and broken dynamic lighting, so I am torn between these three options. Without Enhanced Atmospherics, everything, including sky colors, looks ugly and I don't know how to …

I was in the sim today ready to fly out of Flightbeam KSFO and it was a slide show. FPS fluctuating between 6 and low teens. OK, I thought this region, SO. Cal and all, San Francisco, it is not normally the best on FPS, or maybe it was the Aerosoft CRJ Pro. Then I opened Task manager out of curiosity and lo and behold Amazon Photos was hogging 82% of my CPU. This is the first time I have ever noticed this. I googled it and it seems it is a very common issue if you use Amazon Cloud Backup. I do not know if there is a remedy for this other than removing the app from my machine. As an Amazon Prime member I am entitled to Unlimited cloud storage, so I used it. Of course I am …

Hello, I recently installed new version of P3D V5.1.12.26829, i have a VKBsim Gladiator joystick. P3D runs well, i got aircraft on choosen airport, when trying to increase/decrease throttle my joystick axe does not respond, the same for rudder axis, obliging me to deconnect and reconnect joystick to check wether i can get again throttle and rudder axis, nothing respond at all and when reconnecting my usb joystick P3D crashes. Hi, is anyone using Envtex and ASCA? Does this improve the visuals compared to just using EA? I read somewhere that with EA on, Envtex will be overwritten, ASCA I am not sure. Any input is much appreciated, may be also the settings you use. Peter
