Today I bought the new Active Sky P3D to replace ASN4 and got a P3D connector notification that I have an incompatible P3D version and ASP3D is designed to be used with P3D versions 4.5.14.34698 and this got me to thinking....what is my version of P3D? Turns out it's 4.5.13.32097. Anytime that I am flagged by add-ons (FS2Crew, charts, etc) that there is an update available, I do so immediately but for whatever reason never gave any thought to P3D updates, nor does there seem to be a method for prepar3d to notify you of an update. So I went to my purchased products page and I do see a complete download link for 4.5.14.34698. As an aside, ASP3D seems to be working fine …

Hello all, I am wondering if somebody here is running Aerosoft's Torp scenery (https://www.aerosoft.com/en/flight-simulation/flight-simulator-x-steam/sceneries/1139/torp-sandefjord-x) in a later version than it's made for, like P3D V5.1 HF1? Does it generally work, or are there any deal-breaker issues? Thanks a lot.

Hi: I need to re-arrange the order of some of my sceneries...for example ORBX is above some of add-on airports. But they are greyed out and I can't make any changes. Any ideas how I can change the order and not screw everything/anything up. Thanks.

All, First what a great program, If you need a light in a place where one is not to include a better light for lighting up the runway this is the program for you. I am so impressed by it. 5 stars for sure. Now that said one weak point is that you have to manually a lunch the applications and then turn the lights on or off from withing in that application. Not a big deal but it requires effort and a pause away from P3D. Now supposedly there is a pop windows that will allow you to control the lights but it is not DirectX 12 compatible at this point. Now, let me say I am not a programmer at all, but can anyone figure out a way to use a simple key stroke to turn on …

Whatever happened to these guys? I remember they went silent for a long time, but recently popped up and said they would be updating their sceneries for V5. Is that still happening? I only have their Orlando and their TFFR Guadeloupe scenery. Both running nicely after various changes to make them play nicer in V5. While I only have these two sceneries, certain aspects of them I like very much. Despite being older. So I for one would love to see them come out with some updates or the rumored Indianapolis. Has anybody heard anything?

Hi all, Trying to start a flight from SimWings EGLL with QW 787 that I've done a million times. Get to the menu screen, select aircraft, airport, click ok and then the whole programme crashes to desktop every single time. Please help! B

Hi folks. I just noticed that Envshade has been updated to fix the issues in P3Dv5.1 HF1 that produced glowing terrain at night when using EA. Anyone tested it? Success?

I am trying to uninstall v4 but I get a message that "the account already exists" and it stops the uninstall. I did a search and saw people say to download some Microsoft tool but that didn't seem to work. Anyone have this workaround? Would manually deleting this folder be a good idea? Has anyone else had this issue. Reverse thrust sound is nearly missing. I have tried all sound options in Sim and NGXu sound options. It is present but very, very quiet. I have even tried the NGXu sound emersion package to no avail. It was fine and even loud in 4.5. Any thoughts, ideas or tweaks. Thanks

I notice, that actually there are much less complaints about P3D 5.1 HF1 compared to the situation when 5.0 was introduced. I hope the reason is, that it now works stable and great for most of us as is does for me. But, of course thiere could be other reasons for the silence like 1. Most who had issues went away to MSFS or even XPlane 2. they gave up to complain anyway 3. LM has managed to raise our pain limit significantly

Did anyone noticed the moon shadow on ac (737ngxu for eg.), is inverted?. Moon is on the right side of the ac but it illuminates the left side of it. This is on p3dv5.1 hf1 EA on, dynamic refl: low Thx

I have a small problem at UK2000 Glasgow 2020HD. When I load my aircraft at this airport, I am dropped from a considerable height onto the ground. Can anyone else let me know if they experience the same issue? This is in P3Dv4.5HF2, with ORBx TrueEarth GB North installed.

I currently run ASP4 with REX Sky Force 3D and REX Environment Force which as most people here know looks pretty good and works just fine. Can I expect to see any improvements if I upgrade to ASP3D and not run the REX products? In reading other posts I would say that improved weather depiction at the expense of a darker VC cockpit is not a good tradeoff, if that is indeed the case. Bob Koehler

I'm considering coming back to P3D v4.5 for awhile as MSFS is still sorting itself out & there aren't any radials yet. Miss the sound.😀 Anyway, everything I fly in P3D is working ok in v4.5. My question is, if I go to v5.1, is it worth it - will there be noticeable improvements in scenery or sim performance, & are there aircraft that fly in v4.5, but not v5.1?? T45

Hello, Has anyone noticed that there is no visible rain with EA turned on but there is with EA off? The strange thing is there is the sound of rain but its just not visible. Tom

Once I can have this experience in MSFS2020, with similar flight models and AI, I'm all in. Until then, P3D is the best sim in town!

Hi guys, I know about Flight 1 and RealityXP GTNs. I myself have Flight1. I was using it in P3Dv4 but haven't installed since then for P3Dv5. Last time I used Pilotedge was with XP during last spring. I barely got time whole of last year to really learn and focus on PE. This year, I do have some time available in the evenings for PE (for now). Which approach should I go for when it comes to navigation. I do not have access to real Garmin updates and latest Garmin trainer is cycle 1909. Will that be okay with either Flight1/RealityXP GTNs for P3D? Or should I just do XP11.50 with Navigraph updating default G1000s. For P3D, I will need fsAer…

Hi, Can anyone who owns both LEMD versions (LatinVFR and Sim-wings) compare the VRAM consumption? With LatinVFR I reach almost 9GB out of 9.9 (and this is with the non-PBR version) so I may move to Sim-wings if the VRAM consumption there is significantly lower. Edit: this is on a 4K using SSAAx2 with EA on, 2048 textures and shadows on medium.

What is the best weather engine for P3D v5.1? FS Global Real Weather or Activesky? I can't decide which one to get.

From what I can see there are two products at about the same price 1) Active Sky P3D 2) FS Global Real Weather I have Active Sky Next for FSX and as I can see I am not able to get Active Sky P3D at a discounted price. So I think I should consider both options. After reading the product descriptions for the two products I find it hard to decide which is best. Or maybe I should ask what are the strong and weak points of the two products ?

Is there a web page or site that would show all the variables and entries for light effects ? Like to brighten a few, move a few and find out how and why the gauge lights automatically turn off at sunrise.I did do several searches but not sure I am wording them correctly as the results had nothing to do with the Effects files..
