The Prepar3d Forum

I have questions about Prepar3d before I make any decision on what platform to advance over to. I currently use FSX-Steam but I know with much newer platforms out FSX will start to enter the dustbin. I am deciding between Prepar3d, MSFS 2020, and Xplane 11. I am leaning toward Prepar3d mainly because a lot of my addon content can work with Prepar3d. Are there visual and functional improvements in Prepar3d 4 or 5 over FSX? I hear turbines are better simulated. I just want know the improvements over FSX. Thanks. Gary

I have an issue here. I use Aerosoft Heathrow, and in the install (like many airports), it asks what runways you may want to use. I usually use without a problem, but now it ignores what runway you want. In this image, you can see that I want Takeoff North, Landing South. Hello: P3Dv5.1 w/ HF. Windows 10 64. I notice that when I load the sim, even though I save my settings to slider full right, the "Rate at which weather changes" somehow always changes back to full left (off). As such, if I don't change it back to slider right, the WX from AS and cloud art do not load. Anyone know why the slider resets itself back to off when I load the sim? Thanks!

I hope everyone is doing great. I'm having an issue with FSDreamTeam KLAX V2 and Orbx True Earth Northern California. As you can see from the screen shot below, there are double runway markings.. I'm assuming this has something to do with conflicting files? https://imgur.com/gallery/Rw48bdQ

Can someone provide a couple photos (or a link) showing what downtown Vancouver (BC, Canada) looks like with and without Orbx PNW, Global and Vector? I am trying to confirm that my install, using P3D v4,5, is working and I'm not sure I see a big difference when I toggle Orbx on/off, Many thanks, Brian

Hello, I love my Dash 8, but I never have any turbulence effects. I used it from the beginning (I think 2013) until now with different PC's. I also use Active Sky. Turblence is set in the ini file to 0.75 (I've also testet 1.0), but nothing. No effects. Even in heavy wheater. I have turblence effects on my other aircraft like PMDG or FSLabs. Any idea? Thanks

Hi Guys, I'm having a real issue with P3Dv5 Dynamic Lighting. I know that the dynamic light settings changed with P3Dv5 and I am editing the fx files from the visual editor in the SDK to get them working correctly but I cannot get the effects to show on the ground outside of the visual editor. Pictures show: Full Dynamic Light shows from visual editor when clicking Do Effect But when I reopen P3Dv5 the effect shows on surrounding aircraft but the light splash on the ground doesn't show. This only happens when I am creating Dynamic Lighting files so I can presume there is something I am missing that allows the groun…

I participated in the free upgrade program for ASP3D. I'm doing a reinstall and my license key is for ASP4. Am I entitled to a free upgrade and if so how would I get the new license key? No biggie either way but free is good...

I was taxing in the airport TO the runway, like i usually do, but for some reason it came up CRASH. Is there somewhere I can see where that would CRASH be located in a log so I can see why? Gaz

Hi, when I am loading into the scenario my P3D V5 gets stuck at 99% compiling initial shaders for a long time. anyone know how to fix this maybe ? Thanks

Anybody tried this out yet? Looking to get it for P3DV5. Looks ok in simmarket screenshots. I don't like how the parking lot looks however. And the screenshots need to be redone with better Anti-Aliasing. but curious if anybody has tried this yet.

Hello, Is there a place on the Internet to find the daily use SIDs and STARs and the runways at certain airport? Lots of airports have many runways, SIDs, STARs but in real life only use couple of them as main. For example, my local airports can have 2 pages of approaches but use mainly couple of them for each runway. Just want to be as real as it can get. Thank you

Hello i downloaded P3d v4.5 a month ago and i struggle to get realism and good fps at the same do you have tweaks and what should i put as settings in P3D options I would like to have best options possible pls i run withe 30 fps with the ngxu and everything on low exept autogen building and vegetation. Hi all, I have the QW787 v1.4 installed and have a question about performance. Everything seems to work properly when I enter all the data needed for a derate on the performance page of the EFB, but it only ever allows the "optimal" option on the calculation. That is to say; if the optimal derate is TO1, and I change the setting to TO to check those numbers, it continues to display the TO1 derate (after I hit calc again) Am I doing something wrong? How do I force it to check another derate? Is anyone else seeing this? Appreciate any help, Daniel

Dear Community, I finally decided to ask somebody for help because I ran out of ideas how to solve my low fps problem. My System: Intel Core I9-9900K 3,6 GHz GPU: RTX 2080 Super (8GB) 32 GB RAM Simulator is installed on its own hard drive and I'm using up to date Windows 10 and an up-to-date P3Dv4 version. My FPS when running the Simulator: Flight in remote area: 60 FPS / Flight in "Normal" area: 30-40 FPS / Landing on a normal Airport: 20 FPS / AND NOW THE BIG ISSUE: Areas like New York, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, London, Paris,..... where I receive between 7 and 12 FPS. Hi all- Just installed EZCA into my P3D 4.5 hf3. Everything seems to be working except for one thing. When using the coordinates window to adjust the X,Y,Z, pitch, Zoom axis camera position, etc. the green arrow, upper left hand side will not save the new position. Clicking on it does nothing. Interestingly, the new camera position will stick on it's own after closing the window and EZCA will ask to save the change when closing the app. Any suggestions on this? Thanks, Mark

Hey everyone, I was experiencing a very annoying issue with P3D v5, Whenever I load a flight (an aircraft is loaded and I can go ahead and fly) FlyChrono as you know waits for the sim and when it finally loads it knows where you are in the world and changes the time accordingly. the problem is that whenever the sim loads again after the flight has already been loaded it gets to 63% and then crashes, (no error just closes), this doesn't only happen with FlyChrono, it happens when you load the sim after it has already been loaded (examples: Change the position, change time, change aircraft). Why is this happening and how can I resolve it?

Has someone been able to solve that elevation issue at ZSPD. The airport seems to have 2 layers. I have tried to contact support a few times but it’s not been that productive so far. thanks chris
