The trim button disconnects CMD A, yet I can't see any assignments under the controls., in the p3d control settings. It has only just started doing this, but I am not sure why? Is this something I'm doing wrong with the NGX, or p3d? Many thanks Jools

Afternoon ladies and gents, I flew into KPSP this weekend w/ the 737NGX, the runway 31L-13R is listed @ 10,000 feet long. As I approach the runway I notice it has a displaced threshhold (a very long one on 13R). I adjusted my touchdown point so as to touch down on the runway markings on 13R, I was barely able to stop the aircraft before the markings on the other end of the runway, with full reverse thrust and autobrakes 3. So looking at the shorter parallel runway 13L-31R, I estimate the length between the markings on 31L-13R is about 5100 feet. My question is this, is it legal for me to touch down on the displaced threshhold? Or do I have to land within th…

How do you exactly pick the flap setting when landing? i noticed that most times i can land with flaps 30 where I feel I have more control but i am also faster compare to flaps 40 where i am nice and slow but i also feel like a hovering balloon rather than a plane. If it is windy I prefer less flaps, not more....but all this is how it feels to me....is there a more defined guideline in real life?

I kind of already skewed off on a tangent on somebody else's thread, so I figured I'd better start my own. I've been looking around for hours trying to get a few questions answered, I would like to post the questions here, as they are simple questions and folks around here are generally extremely up to date and knowledgeable on these subjects. The other thread convinced me I need to purchase EZDok, which I will be doing tonight. Surely there is a free benchmark somewhere of preloaded camera profiles as well as vibration profiles for the PMDG NGX 737? I've read Angle of Attack had the best for awhile, and people were saying AOA was going to distribute them out for fr…

  6. When I load the PMDG 737-800 NGX, the fan blades and spinners in the engine intakes are missing, the beacons appear as steady burn lights rather than flashing lights, and the landing lights have different combinations of being on or extended (often different between the left and right sides) in disagreement with the landing light switches. I've tried reloading the aircraft many times, restarting FSX many times, restarting the computer, reinstalling the liveries, and even repairing the entire 737 8/900 installation. The problem persists. I've had the for a few months and did not experience these problems until a couple days ago. I've considered reinstalling FSX, bu…

  8. Hello, I recently completed a flight from PHLI (Lihue, Hawaii) to KCPR (Casper, WY) in Prepar3D/PDMG 737NGX which took approximately 7 hours and registered roughly 2242 nm in the plane and 3,346 miles according to google maps. I achieved a maximum altitude of 46K (yeah not optimum for fuel I was beginning to mush through the air at the end), started with a full tank and landed with 2.5K to spare. I also had a full load of passengers and cargo. I was trying to reach Chicago, but when it became obvious I wasn't going to make it I landed at Casper (my first time landing there too). I have also flown once from Lihue to Las Vegas in the sim which is doable. I…

  9. I am trying to understand why i would be penalized if I descend to an OPT altitude from an altitude slightly above the MAX. Example, i am on FL370 and the FMC is telling on the CRZ page that my OPT is 344 and MAX is 369. If I STEP from 370 to 344 I am shown a penalty of 6,%....shouldn't i get a GAIN instead? am I misinterpreting the concept of OPT? isn't it referred to optimal fuel use? ps on another note if i want to add a pic to a post here i am asked to have on a URL....is there a specific website where to upload pics so i can put them here? thank you

If I am updating the NAV data for the NGX - is it better to also update the magnetic declination BGL file as well ? Or does it really make no difference.... Wondering about the pro's & con's of doing it ! Any advice appreciated. Cheers G

  11. I've done a reinstall of P3D and my PMDG fleet and now have something hanging off the top of the vertical stabilizer. It looks like it's hanging by a wire and has a red bob or something like that attached. What is it and how do I get rid of it? I don't see anything in my aircraft setup, but maybe I'm getting blind. Thanks!!!!

Hi, Why did PMDG just delete my post a few minutes ago? to resume my trim wheel is not working i have assigned my joystick normally to trim up or down but i can't adjust the trim it always go full up or full down as soon as i try to trim! I have the same settings on the P3DV3 version and it works but not for fsx. I have fsuipc registered but don't use it to assign my trim or axes. I use fsx for that. Thanks for a support. 15. It has been a while since I posted here and about the same since I last spent some time with wonderful PMDG 737, but recently I started enjoying it again, so please forgive me if I'm asking something already answered, but my quick search for past topics did not fully answer all my questions on this topic. These are really two questions. A few days ago I was flying on the route that ended with the ILS approach that required a procedure turn. I figured out during the flight that the PT was not programmed, and just used the HDG/VS to fly it, and it actually worked fine. It's my understanding that PMDG did not implement this in their code, but there is the proverbial …

  16. Hello, I have the PMDG 737 NGX, PMDG 777-200LR/F, PMDG 747-400X, PMDG MD-11X and the ifly 737 NG. With the ifly 737 I can edit the flight plan files f.e. zbaa.FLTPLAN with a text editor (Notepad) And i can edit the SID STAR files. Like that I can insert conditional waypoints. This procedure is documented in the manuals of ifly: FlightPlan Introduction.pdf and Procedures Introduction.pdf excerpt: Line #17.6: It is a flag which specify whether the airplane needs to fly over this waypoint. 0: No need to fly over. 1: Need to fly over. Line #17.7: It is a flag which stands for the property of the route associated with this waypoint. 0: Track to Fix. 1: Direct to Fix. 2: Co…

Hi, Please help. I'm using i7-6700 CPU @3.40GHz, 8Gb RAM, AMD Radeon R9 370 card, Windows10 On-board graphic card disabled. All Windows and graphic card update done. One version of P3Dv3 installed only. Almost every single time when I run 737NGX the prepar3Dv3 crashes and I get a message "Display driver stops responding and has recovered." When I run the prepar3d without the pmdg737ngx addon there is no problems. All drivers updated. Thank you.

  19. If i understand this correctly an approach category D is such when landing between 141 and 164 knots (correct?), but is that referring to the REF speed or the actual flight speed which is REF +5? example: if my REF is 139 I am a C but if i set the speed to 144 (139+5) am I a D or still C?

  20. So I finally bought a multi-screen setup to display charts and pfpx while I fly. Yesterday, I had problems losing all sound when moving the mouse to another window. I solved that by unchecking the "mute on lost focus" button within P3D. Now, when I move the mouse to a different screen, I still have engine sounds, but lose all of the NGX cockpit sounds. Is this something that can be fixed, or do I just have to live with it. It's not that big of a deal, but would be nice. Regards, Rob

So I'm getting the "Nav data out of date" message even though I'm fully up to date (as you can see from the date). Am I missing something obvious here? Having said that, there doesn't seem to be any conflicts with waypoints or airways. I have the same AIRAC updated across the board (PFPX, ProATC and other addon aircraft) and the NGX is the only one that's giving me this message. Like I said, everything is working fine. I'm just curious as to why the message still appears when loaded.

In the debug txt file these first 2 lines show up Creating systems: 01 02 Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_StarterTruck.wav) Can't access WAV file: 0 (Sound\PMDG/737NGX/Various/PMDG_737_AirTruck.wav) I looked in the folder /Various and noticed the file names are different PMDG_737_Airtruck_ext.wav and PMDG_737_StarterTruck_ext.wav How can I fix this? -David Lee -- As a temporary fix I got rid of those error messages by copying the wave files, and renaming them to what the systems are looking for. Any help in figuring out why by default the ngx is looking for the wrong wav files?
