I have been loving this new feature of using the keyboard to enter data into the CDU. How many of you are using it and how many are still imputing data with the mouse and buttons because you feel it is more realistic. At first I thought that and then I realized that real pilots do not use a mouse to input the data.

I am unable to delete the 240/10000 speed restriction on the VNAV CLB page. I can delete the one in the descent page, but not on the climb one. I press delete then line select it up and it provides an execute prompt but keeps the 240/10000 displayed. I tried typing a different speed restriction and line selecting up but it just won't take it. Anyone else seeing this? Is it a bug, design limitation, or did I miss it in the FCOMs (FCOM 1 page SP.11.17) ? Thanks

Hello, During my last three flights I departed during the day and landed during night. On every of this flights landing lights and strobe lights were not visible from the cockpit after landing. Ground around was totally dark. After I closed FSX and loaded it again with night time at begining - everything was correct. Landing and strobe lights were normally visible from the cockpit. My system:Windows 7FSX SP2ICore 7 @ 3.8GHZGTX 5806GB DDR3 Sorry for my English. Chris

Hello, Here are few things that are bothering me for a while. I'm using Radar contact for ATC but it doesn't matter because I think problem/procedure is the same in real. On departure I have ATIS so I know active runway and can select runway and SID for departure. But what with arrival airport? I have last route point but can't select STAR and runway because I don't know active one, or what will ATC assign me. Same goes If I don't want to use STAR but want that ATC vector me to final. What to enter in FMC so I don't have end of route if I don't get landing runway form ATC before crossing my last route point.? I would really like to know correct procedure. Best regard…

Ages ago, I set up FSX graphics with the aid of Nick Needham's guide using nHancer. Now I'm reading a lot of recommendations by Ryan (at PMDG) and others who talk about setting FSX graphics up with Nvidia Inspector.... So, which is better or can/should they both be run together? Thanks for any guidance! Toni.

Hey hardware gurus, I really have no idea if there is something one should pay special attention to with the process. Do I somehow need to uninstall old drivers or such? I've been running a very old nvidia card and upgrading to a more current one right now. The only thing I've always been having were the drivers from their homepage. No additional tools (nvidia inspector??), no OC'ing whatsoever. Sorry if it might sound like a dumb Q to some of you. Or just rip out the ole one, plug in the new one and good to go? Advice would be appreciated.

  11. Is not a big deal at all and is probably a simple fix but the landing light (CLTR+L) on the right side of Alaska Airlines 737-900WL is not align correctly.. The passenagers windows goes above the texture windows when the light is activated... Hopefully I make sense here... But just wanted to give Ryan a head up on it.. THX.. P.S. If you would like to for me to take a picture of it just let me know Carlitos Colon

  12. had my worst flight ever. all started with nice weather at coffs harbour YSCH. programmed everything nicely for my trip to YBCS. All went well when during the climb at approx. FL120 suddenly the copilot PFD quit working. Just said MAP (how funny! possibly a remindfer) in the middle. Then I a horn went off. checking for sign of malfuntion I just saw 1 red light on the overhead: the EQUIP light was on. nothing else. but no enough. checking the FMC failure section in an attempt to cheat I saw that the passenger oxygen masks were deployed. Tried to service them while sinking at a rate of 4000ft and 300 kts overspead but the masks deployed right away again. same time the first…

Hi all, When turning to line up to the taxi-line during the pushback the aircraft makes a very wide bend. The aircraft has nearly to start turning right from the p/b to be centered. Am I doing something wrong ? Is it possible to modify ? Thanks for reply.

  15. Ever since I installed the PMDG NGX, activesky evolution works fine for like 15-20 mins but then the weather just goes clear skies and unlimited visibility. I have only experienced this since I installed the NGX. Anyone else having the same problem? The only solution I have so far is to restart active sky. Any Ideas? Ayush Rustagi

Good to all the time of day!I have a problem at the expense of a new MCP (COLLINS). In the windows HEADING and CRS has two digits instead of three. The last digit is not visible. (35 instead of 350-359, 27 instead of 270-279, etc.) Give that do.

Was just thinking, as the PMDG recommendation is to not follow the "FSX tweaks" regarding shutting down various Windows services what is the esiest way to restore them? Any sort of "restore windows to default" button, or is it a matter of following those guides "in reverse"?

Hi, Did the tutorial flight several times now to get a little bit familiar with the plane. In the tutorial there is this altitude transition from 5000 to 6000 feet at page 64. There it's said to switch the altitude on the MCP to 6000 and press Altitude Intervention. Whenever I push that button after I set the MCP altitude to 6000 nothing happens. Am I missing something here? Pipster

Hi all! Based on the past few days of flight testing and learning about the NGX, I successfully made an autoland and put the necessary steps in mind. I would like to share such to my fellow NGX pilots to clarify and clear their doubts. I'm not a real world pilot nor an "expert" but this information may help you. Here are two screenshots of my flight from SPIM-MPTO on final. The FMA and ND displays have been in "zoom mode" for clarity purposes. Autolanding sequence (important points only): 1. Place plane on landing configuration; gear down, spoilers, armed, autobrakes armed, flaps deployed in relation to final speed in FMC. Personally I use Vref + 5 as my final speed. 2.…

I was just wondering if it would be possible to simulate rain on the windows of the 737's when it rains or snow when it snows? And maybe some icing on the engine and wings I think that's the only thing truely missing from the "realism."

hello,Excuse my English but I'm french ...I use a triple screen Eyefinity and as many addon on the use of 2D panels from the virtual cockpit causes a bug (crazy mouse) by loose a lot of fps ....it is possible to change this ratio through the panel.cfg (meeting starts at what I do) but it is extremely tedious and not necessarily very beautiful ...is it possible to find a solution to this problem or allow users to exchange their panel.cfg to avoid too much trouble ...thank you

Hi,I have some trimming issues at take off and landing and want to ask if this is normal. 1) Takeoff. With a derated take off and almost immediately after leaving the ground the FD horizontal bar lowers and it needs a lot of down trim to keep the aircraft following the FD. Is so much trim normal at that phase? 2) On finals.Upon disengaging A/P at about 500 ft from touchdown (just to handfly her in tha final phase for more fun) the aircraft has the dendency to go suddenly nose up and needs fast trim down so as not to overshoot the threshold. Also normal? Thanks,Christos

"Real Simming", possibily an oxymoron, or is it?I started simming back in 1983, when "measuring" fps was not an issue: you could actually COUNT the frames on your screen ...After nearly 30 years, I have experimented a lot, spent an obscene amount of money on hw upgrades just for those 3 frames per second (know the feeling?) but there are only a few magic moments that I call "Real Simming". I will name some:1) my first IFR flight in FS2 (VOR to VOR Meigs to Champaign)2) soaring around Half Moon Bay in Flight Unlimited II3) a full Heathrow - Kai Tak with Aerowinx PS1During the last 5 or 6 years I had lost interest, and sincerely I thought that simming was something that bel…

I did a quick search for this in the forum, but can't seem to find anyone else who asked. Out of curiosity, where is the Boeing House and 'Chromate paints that were on the livery availability list? Any word on their availability? If anyone knows of a particular post this was already answered, could you point me in the right direction?
