Does anyone know what display options (and various other options) SAS equipped their 738 a/c with?Reason I asked is I noticed the other day when flying with the real 'Freja Viking' that she is equipped with the newer style Collins MCP which I didn't know before. Shot a number of both external pictures as well as from the flightdeck and will post them here if anyone is interested when I get back home.

I have been struggling to manage to get the NGX activated, and was waiting for the hotfix. However, after trying a few things I have now managed to get it activated. The problem was that I have my FSX set up to load a flight first, which I was loading up and then switching aircraft to the NGX - which never asked for activation and managed to bomb out every time. However, if you "END THE FLIGHT" first and go back to the "Home" screen, THEN select the NGX it then asks for the activation details (or at least it did in my case), activates and works. After that it loaded fine and was sitting at a stable 30fps (locked) at PAVD ready to play - damn shame I have to go to work !!!…

There are so many questions in the forum didn't want mine to go missed. I installed the hofix - but on the last segment, I clicked cancel because i decided to do the fix under administrator. It still showed "installed successfully" and i clicked finish. Can i assume that all is well - or should i reinstall the hotfix under admin just to be sure. (it did delete my liveries as it said it would). Thx warren

So, I did a couple of flights yesterday. KPDX to KSAN and then PHOG. I left it on the ground at KSAN for about 90 minutes, with ground connections, but left the ELEC HYD pumps on (my bad). So, when I got back, I had two overheats. (Now, in real life, I would be fired and the flight delayed, but I carried on and per the QRH turned them both off and continued. So, while flying with the active failure, I had a freeze to CTD. When I reloaded, no failures. Do they automatically reset when you reload? Is that normal? Thanks.

Hi, A really simple question, i hope! Am I correct to expect an RNP arrival to select from the DEP/ARR page in the FMC, or am I doing something wrong? I dont have anyway of selecting an RNP approach, but not sure if im doing something silly!

Dear PMDG, Just wanted to thank you for this awesome add on. After years of having products hyped and then becoming disappointed with them on release, it is soooooo nice to have a rock solid product that does almost anything that you ask of it just the way it is supposed to. Sure, it has its little niggles and hiccups but good Lord,...the aircraft performs so well so much of the time and the systems are just incredible! To top it all off, the smoothness of the simulation is second to none(even on my middling rig). I have just figured out the HGS runway overlay thingy and completed a short flight in IFR and peasoup conditions at night without a hitch! I didn't see anything…

I've been told it should be there by other forum members, but no matter what I try, there's no external sound for ground power. Is anyone else experiencing this one? I'm not sure if I've seen it mentioned.

I welcome the Hot-fixes - even up to 1-2 a week, as bugs are corrected. This at least allows a large base of users to "Gamma" test the changes, and provide feedback, and users see a conatant improvement in the operation of the sim. My worst fear is a rush to put out a SP1, that still has significant bugs, yet to be corrected, and then a LONG wait to any possible future SP2, and having to live with those bugs. It is unreasonable to expect such a new and complex software product to be released "Bug Free".PMDG is doing an amazing job in responding so quickly to customer issues. In comparison, Microsoft (the "experts"), are constantly putting out OS updates to fix "issu…

The 737 is serviced from the RIGHT side. Strickly speaking, should not the GPU be on the Right Service side, ( along with the other services). ? Placing it on the Left side, has the potential to interfere with docking and undocking .. etc. Geoff Opps: Subject should have been GPU .. ( cannot edit/correct that -- maybe a MOD can please. Tnks )

When the whole hydraulic system is depressurized after engine shut-down (pressure <100 PSA) shouldn't the yaw damper switch flip to OFF by itself? Just something that I noticed and that would seem logical to me. Not sure anyway - just a wild guess. Someone with hands-on experience on the NG will know better. Oskar

Hi, and thanks for a great add-on. I just bouhgt a new system (mainly because of this airplane) with Win 7 64bit as recomended. I only get a dead "moc up" plane after installaton with no clickspots at all. Mouse pointer is black and unresponsive in all areas. No gauges, displays, no nothing. Not even the the hud is there to flip down. I´ve tampered with everything for hours now( i,e applying writeable files in FSX ´cause all were read only in properties). It seems I cannot make them remain writeable after removing the tick in the box that says "read only". Am I missing something here. Please advise. I want to get out there again flying this bird. And yes, I´ve clicked yes …

I didn't try to duplicate the CTD error this created last time, I just preemptively removed them before my test flight. Just wanted to give a heads up. Edit, I'm referring to the PMDG dll files listed under the [trusted] section of fsx.cfg

Greetings all,, I've searched the plane, and the manuals, and can't figure out exactly where this switch is. Probably right under my nose, but so far no luck.

Hello, When I'm on Approach my speed is always to high. It isn't possible to bring the speed manually down to (i.e) 170 knots. I use my speedbrake. I changed the FMC, I'm out VNAV.Etc. Do I have to set the A/T on or off. What is the best thing I can do to bring the speed down. What I'm doing wrong In other PMDG planes there were no problems to change the speed manually.. Thanks in advance and with greetings from Holland Henk Scheffer

i dont know if this should be like that or is an error of my NGX. When landed, and REVS is activated the Autobrake is disarmed. I have to manually push the brakes to stop. Any ideas?

I am curious as to whether PMDG has contacted AOA and asked, have they had any freeze problems with the NGX, considering the fact that they must have logged many hours already with this aircraft. My reason for this question is this: When i first purchased the the NGX, i tweaked it to somewhere close to reasonable performance with help from threads in this forum and a ticket to which Ryan replied with some welcome suggestions and then srarted flying. Firstly i just set up a quik flight from KSFO to KPDX and got as far as descent stage and got a complete FSX freeze when setting up my runway, star, etc in the FMC. So that was the end of that and i whent back to search for mor…

For the PMDG 7378 No Winglets livery, I reset the defaults for ACCEL ALT, REDUCTION ALT, & CUTBACK ALTITUDE to 1000 ft instead of the default value of 1500 ft, which I beleive is more in line with US airline practices. See attached screen shots: After making this change, you can see that the FMC TAKEOFF REF page 2/2 still shows ACCEL HT at 1500 AGL and REDUCTION at 1500 AGL. However, during takeoff, it appears that the aircraft when VNAV is used begins accelerating at 1000 AGL and the thrust is reduced also at 1000 AGL as programed on the default page. Has anyone else tried to reset these defaults and is your behavior on takeoff the same? Thanks, Rich BollWichita K…

I hate to criticise anything about this a/craft, which is truly a masterpiece. However, there is something about the wing flex when on the ground in spot view that just doesn't look quite right to me. Maybe it's just me but the wing movement seemed exaggerated both in speed of movement and amount but particularly the speed, which looks like a flick, as if the wings have no weight or inertia and can move rapidly. But looking at the wing view, from inside looks ok to me. Does anyone else agree? Iain Smith

May be a dumb question, but here it is anyway: Is the previous hotfix still needed with the "new hotfix 15AUG11" released? I stayed with the RTM version (As i was not geting any freeze) waiting for a more definitive fix. As now, mr Randazzo stated that it´s a mandatory hotfix i will install it, but first i have to know if the previous hotfix is mandatory too. Any help? Thanks!

Hi,One question - If the service based failures are enabled, the aircraft counts the numbers of hours and tells you when you need to perform the next maintenance. Now, with this hotfix story you need to remove the aircraft (livery) and re-add it again - By doing this, i assume the time will be reset to 250h. Where exactly are those hours logged? How can i make a backup of those hours?

So it seems that I just can't seem to be able to make it through a flight on the PMDG 737 NGX. This is the second flight I've tried, second flight I've failed. I've wasted almost a total of 6 hours trying to make this thing work, only to be bombarded with bugs, which is somewhat disappointing after observing the number of hours put into this project. It seems that during flight, when I switch the DU to PLN from MAP, then cycle through waypoints on the LEGS page using the STEP button, all the DU's on the cockpit panel crash completely. They freeze on whatever was last being displayed. I find that the PFD becomes frozen, however the PLN screen can be played with. Cycling th…

Hi All Firstly just to say I'm very impressed overall with the new offering from PMDG. I've done a few flights now and I've noticed a few things with the aircraft, maybe 'bugs' maybe 'aircraft quirks'. Firstly though, a few issues with my setup in terms of performance etc: I've followed the introduction manual to the letter and ran my CFG through *******' tool. I've also been using (up until now) the external frame rate limiter. After a bit of testing I noticed that if I use the limiter locked on 30fps on a default a/c, I only get 15fps in the sim at a default airfield. However if I don't use the limiter and leave FSX set to unlimited fps, I get about 100. So I've been us…

Hi all,This is just for the record. System specs are at the bottom of this note. I've tried more than two dozen flights but *all* have frozen and CTD'd or just CTD'd. All but 3 of the flights followed the tutorial. Some CTDs were while on the ground, some during the takeoff roll, most in the air. All setup instructions from the Introduction that can be implemented have been implemented. As the PMDG MD-11, 747X, & J41 all work fine, I'm going to assume there is a PEBKAC and put the 737NGX aside for a while and watch this forum for a while. (Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair == PEBKC). Dan "lensman" Davison SysSpecs: Asus P6T MB, 6 GB Crucial CL9 RAM, Radeon …
