Hello What is the procedure for landing at a controlled or non controlled airfield where there is no precision approach and no star, may or may not be PAPI or VASI, how far from the field and at what height is the aircraft in the landing configuration given the lack of landing tools, I assume at a radar controlled field you will get vectors to final but what height would you usually be and how far from the field gear down at Vref given the lack of landing guidance, thanks RegardsWayne

  2. I have noticed a slight discrepancy in the the fuel figure reported in the perf init page vs. the FMC fuel loaded page. See screenshot below. Fuel in the Plan/Fuel box is always about 200 pounds more than what I asked to be loaded. Can someone explain why? I did see a note in the introduction document, is this the result of a modeled "quirk"? Fuel System:• Engine Valves and Spar Valves have emergency power packsattached to the valve actuator unit.     I cannot get the plane started. I am hoping someone would send me a saved start state with engines running. I have tried to eliminate last start state in options.ini file as well as attempting to start plane from cold and dark as well as the other available states. It seems there is an electrical problem as the panel which shows the power draw (above battery lever) has nothing in it. The drive lights are also lighted. There seems to be power because all the other indicators are lighted and I can start the apu, but not the engines. I am sure this is related to something I am doing so I am looking for help here rather than submitting a ticket. Thanks. Mike Marzettunplugged…

  5. Out of curiosity and a possible benefit for PMDG to know, which 737NGX have you been flying the most so far? If you fly more than one variant, please choose the one which you plan to continue flying the most until the release of the 737-600/700 package.     I love this new tool, but I still think the MD-11 is tops. Has anyone noticed the Course and Heading display in the MCP only show the first two digits and they are aligned one space to the right? Also, I have had an intermittent problem with some displayed data freezing up, particularly in the CDU. A couple of times I have been happily poking around in the CDU setting up a plan when suddenly all the data fields will disappear. You try to enter data into the scratchpad and it doesn't show, but if you line select it, particularly if the data is invalid, you know it did take the data because you get the Invalid Data message (but only after you select a new page).     Ok now another problem introduced by the latest hotfix. I am able to zoom in/out in the virtual cockpit before I use the CDU. After programming my route I closed the CDU and tried zooming in (+) and nothing happens. The hand pointer appears and each time I hit the + key the finger moves down then back up but no zoom for the panel. I tried exiting FSX and reloading it and the same thing happens. Zoom works fine until I open the CDU. At least it hasn't CTD yet.

HI I just got the ngx a couple of days ago, and its going good so far but its just some few questions I've been wondering about I'm pretty sure all this is listed in the manuals but I havent got time to read trough them all.. First off the seat belt sign. I see that theres a auto button for it, usually I turn it to auto when there's no more steep turns in my route, but I feel this isnt quite right when its coming to altitudes and such. Something I'd just like to know. Something else i've been wondering about is the cargo distribution. It seems logic to me that there is more in the aft than in the front so you float less on landing etc. Please fix me on this if its wro…

  14. Just took off from Halifax Intl (CYHZ) enroute to St. John's Intl (CYYT). Departure was the CYHZ3 Departure off RWY05, runway heading was 054. Upon takeoff I engaged the heading select and turned selector to 054 (it was on 053) and the aircraft did a complete 360 turn back to heading 054. Did I do something wrong? or was this a little bug I found. If anyone wants to try and recreate this my route was CYHZ3(RWY05) YHZ J575 LEXAK BURIN9 ILSRWY29. Like title says, I've never had a single issue with this aircraft until that happened, and who knows, maybe I forgot to do something or set something up improperly. Does anybody have any ideas?     Is there any way to position oneself in the VC centered directly under the overhead panel ? This would make viewing the overhead panel much easier by just looking up instead of paning to the right (or to the left) where it's difficult to see what's on the far side. The overhead panel can be opened-up from the 2D panle but in the VC, the switches are crystal clear, not the case in the 2D view. Also, what's the command for switching to the FO side ? Thanks,Zach

    I don't understand why programming the CDU can be so quirky. Sometimes I can enter all the required route and performance information and the speeds/altitudes are automatically populated for all the legs. Other times I get nothing at all until I exit FSX, reload, then go through the same exact steps and it works fine. I have also had problems on occasion arming VNAV on the ground and the same thing fixes it....closing FSX and reloading under the same conditions. It just seems quite buggy. Am I the only one having problems like this?

  22. Doesn't RTM usually mean Release to Manufacturer? Does that mean it's some how going to revert me back to the clean install version of the NGX? When i ran the hotfix it said it would update it to the latest version ... .2992? something like that? And at the end it windows said it might not have installed correctly, is that just windows trying to be precautionary, or did it really not install correctly? Hi all,I have difficulty in following the FD during take off.After Vr and first phase of take off the horizontal FD bar lowers making me to trim down so as not to overshoot it.What is going wrong?     Hi everyone - the 'Ol Blackbird here........I have a question about the wipers on this new "Bird". When I put the wiper switch on to its first position (Int), the wipers should wipe the windscreen once then wait a couple of seconds in the "resting" position, then wipe again - yes? (Like interval wipers on my car). This is not happening for me - they just automatically go to the first "regular" wiping speed - continuous slow. Anyone else have this issue? Am I missing something?
