Hello,Still can't make a decision for a new graphics card for FSX. I was planning to buy the MSI GTX560ti Hawk, but after hearing about some heating issues, I'm starting to doubt. The GTX580 is really out of my budget at the moment so I was thinking, what about an AMD card? Are they any good for FSX (and the NGX)? I was thinking about the AMD HD 6950 1GB. Not too expensive but seems to be a good card. Anyone else having a good experience with AMD card, FSX and the NGX? (No panel freezes for example) Thanks in advance for the advice. :-)

Hi all I fired up the NGX on a flight from Auckland (NZAA) to Sydney (YSSY) last night at FL360. I even dialled in the MARLN 8 STAR SY transition for Rwy 34L ie. you approach Syd from SE, overfly Syd airport at 6000ft, hang a left for downwind and then you're set up for 34L. All went to plan and at TOD I reset the ALT to 6000 and the bird started descending...at about FL250 the FMC gave me the 'descent not achieveable' and just left me there. This has happened quite a few times. is there an issue with how the descent is calculated, particularly TOD? from the times I've had this issue (not always), it seems that the TOD is too late and descending at 2000 fpm isn't sufficie…

I don't get this very often, but after crashing after a 2hr VA flight, I'm a bit miffed now. Could you please take a look at this video? Decent running smoothly then all of a sudden get massive fluctuations in IAS with a chuffing type of noise. In the past is has stopped about 5 mile out but speed shoots up to 250+ kts. This time got to vref approach speed then I dropped out of the sky. Can’t see what I have done wrong as I follow a checklist. Possible bug or just me? Thanks for looking. I know it is common practice to start the right (2) engine first, just wondering what is the reason for this? Not disagreeing with it at all, just trying to expand my knowledge. Thanks

Some time ago there was mention that the PMDG 737NGX's Cockpit would be made "SHARABLE" with a proprietory system from PMDG called MultiCrew. Is this still a reality, and is it planned for release at any time in the known future , or has it been determined that this functionality is not possible with the 737, ? An update on MULTICREW from PMDG would be appreciated, for those excited about its potential for realistic Pilot / Co-Pilot operation.

  10. hey guys, i was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as i am. i have found that on approach the aircraft will freeze for about a second then unfreeze for about 2-3 seconds, once it has started this cycle will not stop. i experienced it once before when flying into a heavy scenery airport and thought it was just because of the scenery but last night i was flying into default scenery and the same problem happened again. its not the biggest problem in the world but after completing a long time its a bit of a waste when you get to the end! i have checked that it has nothing to do with squawkbox or any other 3rd party addon. does anyone have any suggestions?

    1. Uninstall any installed liveries with the Livery Manager's Remove button.2. Delete any aircraft.cfg and aircraft.cfg_old files from all four PMDG_737NGX folders in FSX\Simobjects\Airplanes. If you do not see a file specifically called "aircraft.cfg", please go to Control Panel\Folder Options and uncheck the one that says "Hide extensions for known filetypes.", that will make them show up correctly.3. Rerun the hotfix 4 installer, answer yes to any warning about it already being installed.4. Should now have the correct cfgs - reinstall liveries.

Hi! i have noticed that the brake temperature goes down extremly slow if at all... is this correct?I just took a flight and had to brake pretty hard to make the taxiway so my brake temp went up to about 4... i had a rather long turn around, so i was on the ground for 40 minutes, and at takeoff the brake temp was still 4... shouldnt it have lowered at least a bit?If it doesnt lower during this flight i think ill have problems during landing in an hour... ;) /Niklas Eriksson

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone could share their setup regarding the flight dynamics. What I mean is, the controller sensitivities and such. I did a forum search and came across the "sticksensitivity=0" or something like that, but I found that it interferes with the autopilot in a way that the plane overshoots headings and has to correct almost making an S shape. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong as i've found no other posts regarding this. Currently I have controller sensitivity set to minimum within FSX and have removed that sensitivity=0 thing from my fsx config. Like I said just wondering what somebody who has it fine tuned has done and do I need to …

  21. I have a CH yoke and Saitek throttles. Other than the buttons I use to control EZCA views, I have already mapped for all aircraft (not just NGX) flaps (inc/dec), gear toggle, trim (nose up and down), autopilot on/off toggle, FSX ATC window #1 (most common response to FSX ATC), auto-throttle toggle, TOGA, engine 1 cutoff, engine 2 cutoff and pause toggle. (I also map through the axis menu in FSUIPC throttle, spoilers, reverse thrust and left and right brakes. In something as well done as the NGX, I like where possible to use the mouse to activate a function as it keeps some perspective as to where the particular function is located in the real a/c. But with several …

Is there a way to remove the 2D panel from the set of possible views? When I cycle between camera positions in the VC (from Captain's seat to Center Pedastal) I'd love to not have to go through the 2D panel since I never use it. Thanks Bill Rowe
