    Hey all,I'd like to learn the basics of a flight from A to B using my own route. I've flown the tutorial loads of times, and whilst it's good for familiarisation it's not helped much in terms of making my own route. Is there way or palce that can explain to me how to generate a route, and how to enter it into the FMC? Something that is a bit more useful than the tutorial in explaining using my own route? I'm not even really sure how to generate a route, but I think once I've got the route making nailed, I can start to enjoy the aircraft more!Thanks :)(p.s, I am a bit of a noob.   2. I'm a long-term user of the excellent PMDG products. I bought the new B737NGX yesterday, which installed without a problem.However, when the aircraft loads in FSX the only PMDG menu option available (in the usual spot in the FSX menu bar) is "About PMDG" --- no options, fuel, etc. I've loaded other PMDG aircraft (B747 models) and their menus display as normal. I've tried both VC and 2D displays for the 737NG, I've done a complete uninstall and reinstall, all to no avail. The PMDG menu shows only the "About" entry.   5. I've submitted a ticket for this problem, as I didn't for the first CTD to see if it was an isolated incident. I was flying a relatively short route online with VATSIM using SB4 from YMML to YWLM, which is about 1hr10min or so. At FL390 with a 13kt crosswind coming at me from a north-westerly direction while I flew on a northerly heading the aircraft started behaving like it was being hit by 200kt crosswinds, banking left 30 degrees and then right 30 degrees. It even missed the TOD and then I had the CTD. Anyone else had this? I was using real-world weather downloaded from Jepessen.

I can't say this is really PMDG's fault (maybe more FSX's ridiculous wind modelling at higher altitude), but with any wind shift and resulting change in IAS, the autopilot "very aggressively" uses pitch to get to the desired IAS as soon as possible. Even with a wind smoothing addon like ActiveSky that limits the wind changes to a few knots per second, it can still cause the autopilot in climbout mode to go from 1500fpm to 7700fpm (!!) within just a few seconds, as I saw earlier tonight. That kind of change is easily a couple/few g's and would make a lot of passengers vomit and/or scream. Also in the real world, no 738 would ever climb at 7700fpm.So this isn't so much a bu…

    How do you actually increase Temp or vice verca when on ground and maybe not powering up apu for instance.I also notice that the temp is pretty unstable when you are about to put the bird on grouind power ore APU powerSomtimes it starts with 22 C on Ground power but the outside temp is only 8 CWhat do you do ?I recall a flight in a bad winter comming to the aircraft warm and nicely :-)/Michael

    I know most of you guys are pretty savvy with software, but for people like me who are more knowledgable about hardware than software, today I had my first CTD with the NGX. I restarted FSX again and then the NGX kept freezing up on me. I couldn't figure out what was happening since it has never done it before, until in the middle of the flight FSX didn't crash but it got minimize by itself, back to desktop and my anti-virus gave me the message that the scan was completed, BINGO!!!. After that no more CTD or Freeze for the rest of the flight. Could this imply that some CDT happening to others could be from programs running in the background or program add-ons running alon…

    since downloading the SP1 the NG has performed fantastically. BUT the last 2 flights EJJ-EHAM and EHAM-EIDW at altitudes of 330 the acft suddenly starts to wander around the magenta line. watching from outside if I was a passenger, boy would I be sea sick!any clues?thanks

    I use default fax weather realtime update 15 min and squakbox for vatsim. Fsupic also. Not sure why I get wind shift n my airspeed has huge swings 30 to 40 mph a sec shifts autothrottle goes crazy. Anyone know or hve had this

    Hi All...I bought this excellent piece of simulation technology only yesterday, and think it's a masterpiece. However, I have a problem with the autopilot. I am going through tutorial #1 and everything is fine through the 5000 altitude restriction. Then at the Detling VOR the FMC is saying RESET MCP ALT, and my FMA pitch mode changes from VNAV PTH to VNAV ALT.. (all as expected). But when I change the MCP ALT from 5000 to the next restriction of 6000, it disconnects the autopilot and the A/P FIRST button flashes red....The tutorial suggests that as good practice, keep changing the MCP heading to match the LNAV heading, incase you have to quickly switch to HDG SELECT (good…

  19. Now that I have tested SP1 and everything seemed to be performing well I enabled Maintenance failure options and began several flights using different aircraft. Out of curiousity this morning, I checked my maintenance cfg files and found that the time was being logged to models that were different than the ones I had flown! I then went into FSX aircraft menu and compared tail numbers displayed with what was in the aircraft config files and discovered than they were all mixed up!!!     After the initial problems, (wrong livery manager, old livery version etc) after installing the SP1 it was GREAT!. My one studder per second was gone, the planes fly smoothly incredible!, I was able to save flight and load any of the planes.After I downloaded and installed SP1 update, things went wrong.     Gotta say that SP1 improved my flight experience a lot, but i still have the main problem unsolved:bellow 10000ft the plain fails to maintain 240 knots and keeps increase speed until 270kts (forcing me to use the spoilers too much).... and when on final, i have to bust the flaps speeds and to lower gear earlier that usual to achieve the VREF speen before TD.....it makes manual landings more difficult and surely unrealistic.i don't have that problem with any other add-on i use (PMDG 747, MD11 and LevelD 767).what am i doing wrong?Can someone advise?Jonathan

    I had this weird problem happen to me about 10 ot 12 times since I bought the NGX a couple months ago. What would happen is I would be setting up the plane and whenever I would go too fast and click around the APU Bus area the mouse cursor arrow would turn into a plus sign. When that happened I was screwed and could only turn knobs one way but not back and sometimes things would not even be clickable or the mouse wheel would not work at all. Of course this meant the end of the flight and was a major pain in the Butt !!!!!!!So today I finally decided to try and track it down and what did I find?
