PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by Barthandelus,

Hi Guys,Im working through the 737-700WL paintkit (downloaded from the PMDG site just now, so assuming i have the latest version).Thing is, i have big gaps between the coloured boundaries in the Fuselage Master file (see attached picture). So i was wondering if i paint a graphic in the red area for example, and part of it overflows in the gray part, do i need to split my graphic and move the 'overflow' part in to the blue area?See, its confusing me a little - i could understand it if the boundaries touched, but it seems i need trial and error to get my graphics to line up in the finished paint and keep all my painting withing the coloured areas. Even the fuselage_1 file h…

  2. Guys,I have seen an advice in one of the thread which suggests to re-download NGX liveries since they've been updated to support the new options issued under SP1. I understand liveries which have been updated are from PMDG website only... what about those made by individuals to be found from elsewhere like AVSIM library?? will they work with SP1? or there will be some glitches?

  3. For the first time since I installed the NGX, I downloaded a few liveries. When I try to install them, I get a message 'PMDG Livery Manager.exe has stopped working'. I am yhus unable to install any liveries.I have SP1 installed and did not have any liveries installed prior to this (so should be no issues with old liveries). Any help much appreciated.Rushad Ed.

I just started noticing this after a fresh install of the NGX and SP1. I will have the bird sitting on the runway correctly set up for a flight with LNAV and VNAV armed. I engage TOGA and the LNAV and VNAV lights on the MCP extinguish as expected, however once airborne and at 500' AGL the VNAV button becomes re-lit as it's supposed to but the LNAV button does not. It's strange because LNAV is engaged as shown in green letters on the PFD but the MCP says the opposite. If I re-press the LNAV it will show the light on the MCP and everything show's normally. I'm confused because this hadn't occured prior to SP1 and with an aircraft that had such a large emphisis on detail an…

  7. I would like to request assistance from the Forum in resolving CTDs events that I have been experiencing since the installation of SP1. Before I begin, I have filed a support ticket with PMDG, Ticket Number 19F-16516662-9243. Ryan is aware and has responded. I'm in the troubleshooting phase right now.In the FSX\GAUGES folder, I have three related to PMDG:PMDG_737NGX.DLL - 92.5 MBPMDG_737NGX.DLL_2 - 4.3 MBPMDG_737NGX.DLL_3 - 524 KB - kilobytesMS Event Viewer reported that at three of the recent CTDs resulted from the PMDG_737NGX.DLL file. The huge size of this file compared to all the other .DLL files in the GAUGES Folder leads to me to believe that this file is corrupt. …

I have selected the speakers in the FSX sound options but there there is no sound device recognised in the NGX CDU- I am thus missing cockpit sounds etc. I bought the product after SP1 was released.I see that others have a similar problem but I am confused with the suggested solutions.David West

  10. Captains,I got my much awaited new system to fly the 737NGX but to my most unexpected imagination, somehow my Saitek X52PRO, just doesnt seem to work with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. The moment i plug it in, I just cant open any browser as such, or fsx for that matter and have to completely reboot, Downloading the drivers or software, from the website is not possible, because that too freezes. Any of you gurus out there with a possible suggestion or solution , I can promise you a lifetime of unlimited help flying the 737ng from real world prospective if any.Which are the other joysticks good enough to fly the 737ngx on fsx ?

Bit of a random one...But I really wish that FSX was scrapped and PMDG had their own simulator world. It's such a shame. because the NGX is an utter work of art, beautiful and according to a programmer friend "an incredible piece of software", but it is almost tragic that it has to run via MSFSX. Do many people share these views, or are most people very happy with FSX?

I built a new computer so I have a new installation of the NGX. After installation of NGX, both with, and without SP1, I don't have mouse-over controls in the VC. Overhead panel controls work fine and control wheel assignments work on VC systems. Any ideas?

TeamFirstly, i couldn't find any notes / posts on the above.I will also only make it a short note as i continue to log any further examples ... given i have only done about a dozen flights so far (waited for SP1). Flying KJFK to KDORD, before TOD, I selected an RNAV28 Approach from the PAITN star. This Star has a few (real world) speed & altitude restaints not included by Navigraph.I thus made (& apparently had accepted ??) those vertical revisions but the VNAV Path did not recalculate. The FMC kept the original constant descent profile to the Approach IAF that it calculated before the revisions.I completed the flight using V/S and Speed. The next time I flew the …

So no matter what plane I select it loads the actual previous flight of any livery. For example when I select a default livery which has zero hours on the frame to do stalls or really push the plane to it's limits and then select a southwest livery to do a normal flight it loads up what the default livery panel state, oil levels and everything. Is there a way around this?

I love the pushback feature in the CDU. Is it possible to have an "auto" option that will automatically align you up with the taxiway without having to quess the distances? Much like the AES pushback. I allways seem to find myself stopped in the grass or in the service vehicle roadways where a fuel truck or forklift will drive through me.Cheers.

Hi there guys,I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of these little dots in my cockpit displays. The cockpit displays shows a lot of dots, how bigger I zoom in the smaller they get (I don't have a screenshot at the moment). There is way, this by turning on my "super sampling" on my ATI HD5970 but this creates a huge performance hit.Has somebody a idea?

Hi,I downloaded the -600 painkit today (10/31/2011, 14.31 UTC) which already has the fixes in it.However, using the red, blue and yellow -600 paint regions to split up any artwork that crosses these boundaries results in something that does not match up in the FSX model.I compared with the PMDG -600 house livery .dds files and found each of those paint regions still a couple of pixels off, and with the help of the house livery .dds files I could align my artwork properly and bring the paint regions to the correct sizes for any further work. The paintkit responsible might want to have another look at the -600 paintkit in that regard.Thank youDave

Couple of things I was wandering about if they have been fixed and/or general questions1 In the set up for default trans altitude, pre-SP1 no matter what I put in there, the default everytime I loaded up, would still be 17000ft [as opposed to American 18k]. Has this to your knowledge been addressed when I just tried it now, it didn't default when in the perf page of the fmc.2 In the set up panel options I couldn't see blank out co pilot's displays, has this been moved to the performance manager? If so what is the correct way to blank them, I only want to do this, not get a "low res" version of the flightdeck.3 Locations of previous saved panel set ups? I uninstalled every…

I have always wondered why the FMC pop ups a " Drag Required " warning .I assume it's cause of the wind changing but even if it was like that I guess the real time reaction of the FMC should allow immediately to auto-reset the remaining vertical route accordingly to the wind changing, just like the LNAV does when lateral wings injects. The LNAV does not ask to the pilot to turn a few degrees to correct the wind intervention so why the VNAV does that instead ?Thx
