  1. Started by tnorton776,

Could someone direct me to the engine start procedure in the manual. I always seem to be able to start engine 1 with no problems, but never engine 2. obviously im missing something. Please help! thanks

  2. Started by PHXRE,

There's something I noticed during climb-out with the 737 NGX.This "problem" was on the previous 737 NG and can be still found within the 737 NGX (even with SP1 installed). After take-off in N1 + LVL CHG mode I select VNAV when the flaps are fully retracted. The FMA says then N1 + VNAV / LNAV path. This does not correspond with the MCP however, because the N1 button is not illuminated, only the VNAV and LNAV buttons. Is this going to be fixed within a new update?PH-XRE

  5. I've searched the FCOM and couldn't find an answer.Like most of us, on norma ops I usually use the autopilot and autothrottles untill glideslope/glidepath capture and sometime before minimums disengage a/t and disconnect a/p. I disengage the autothrottle by pressing the disengage switch on the thrust levers. This also moves the magnetically held AT switch on the MCP from the arm to the off position. Here's what I don't get: if I decide to go around after having disengaged the autothrottles and press either of the TO/GA switches on the levers, will that advance the levers to go around power and restore autothrottle control of the thrust levers? If so, what happens to the A…

I have been working on a new Ground-roll sound for about 2 weeks now, I know a lot of us have AES which does provide thumps on the runway but doesn't when taxiing. U do get thuds when taxiing in real life especially over cracks in the tarmac or concrete and lights on the taxi-way joins. If this gets a lot of interest i will upload it for people to have. I personally like it and this is a matter of choice, in order to use this i have had to disable the AES runway thump sounds as it was over kill but now with this i can enjoy the realistic sounds from push back to lift off. They do get faster as well on the runway as your speed progresses.Right guys click to download the g…

Is there a technique, a procedure or something they follow? Or do pilots follow their own intuition and experience? Thanks,Teo Halfen

I thought I'd make this evening's flight more interesting with a failure. I was only going from Gatwick to Manchester - how bad could it be?Took off, started climing and at about FL150 all hell broke loose. A/P and F/D on the Captain's side dropped out, so quickly engage A/P B and try to figure out what was going wrong. I look at the master caution panels on both sides and they're both indicating mutiple failures. The yaw damper had droped out, as had both mach and speed trims, auto-brake, anti-skid and the primary pressurisation controller I was cleared to FL240 so let the plane continue to climb en-route as I needed some time to figure out what was wrong. I tried troubl…

Hi All,Since updating via SP1, my PMDG 2D Panel is a really shallow view and my GPWS sounds are so quiet they're barely audible- even though I haven't changed any settings.Any ideas? Sounds in the cockpit seems quieter in general.Cheers,Sam N

  11. First: PMDG 737 NGX is the best product for FSX!The only thing I experience now is that there are is a small stutter every 3 seconds when in cockpitview. In outside view or wingview it is all very smooth and steady 30 fps. Also when I have full screen view (via keyboard "W" in 2d view) there is no stutter.I therefore think the stutter has something to do with the virtual cockpit view and the systems. I don't have this problem in PMDG 747 or MD11 or in default aircraft.I really tweaked my system for stutterfree experience in FSX so a stutter every 3 second in VC is very anoying. Can someone please explain if there is any process that is causing this? Or a possible setup to …

  12. So I'm sloooowly becoming acclimated to my new saitek yoke and pedals (former flight joystick user)...and at this point I can properly hand fly it down from the point I grab the ILS to the runway. I disconnect A/T at about 200 ft above....but either I land way too hard or i float down half the runway. There are a lot of great 737 HGS landing vids on youtube which show all of the data during landing and it seems like most during flare will go to -400 v/s @ about 50 ft with a final landing of -100 to -150 v/s which occurs about 15-20 ft off the ground. I am trying to mimic this without much success.I did a full autoland and 'watched' the computer to see what it did and I not…

  13. I am thinking of trying Fs2crew Voice Commander for the NGX that is on its way as soon as SDK is out. Does anybody know of a good headset that will also accommodate Tracklip Pro and is of a quality good enough for voice recognition, that is not over the top price wise? Somewhere under $100 US if possible. Thanks in advance,

I Downloaded my 737NGX yesterday! It works fine. Since there is no 2D throttle, is there a way to know the trim setting with out using the Virtual Cockpit?ThanksJason [email protected]

Hi all, just a quick question, having seached all the docs and forum, is it possible to change the colour of the text in the NGX FMC? Used to be available on the Queen and the original 737 but sadly appears to be unavailable now.And before you ask... I just like green text!Thanx in advance.Regards,Gustav.

Hello,I noticed that you can engage the autopilot on ground...?I'm not talking about process, I know it. I would just like to know if it is normal. Many aircraft do not permit that. Not sure to have seen this before the patch. Some real pilot advice are welcome...Thank youRegards,Richard Portier

Anyone else try to get Place-Bearing intersections to work in SP1? I have not been able to get it to work.My specific example is BDL266/IGN084. When putting it in the FMC in the route section I get an invalid entry message.I can, however, get place-bearing-distance to work though, i.e. BDL266/25.If nobody else has been succesful, I'll submit a ticket.ThxRick

I have a small problem with override of the auto throttle.Hardware is the Saitek pro fight system. In the FMC I have the setting active " never override " AT.But when AT is active and I apply throttle to spool up the engines, it first is ok, but when I then press the TOGA button, AT goes off, and the engines only spool up to the set trust. I can activate AT again, but it will go off again after a few seconds. It will first work normal again, if I Move the lever to zero, or to the possition, where it must be to apply the needed trust. It doesn't matter, if I activate and calibrate via FSX or FSUIPC. Testet both combination.Someone else also have this problem, or have any ide…

The updated Southwest Airlines livery reflects the current options of the airline. They have no minimums callout, no GPWS callouts, no V1 callout, and also use the old analog standby attitude indicator. Clearly, SWA doesn't want a computer talking to their pilots. Would this be a matter of safety or economics?
