PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

Hi guys.I was flying today KPDX-KSEA (actually, 1 hour aga) and EVERY TIME the controller transmitted I had to mute the game (Q key) and then reply, then unmute the game. This gets quite annoying. Does anyone have some times on what I can do to prevent this? Could I maybe transmit game audio through my Logitech Speakers, and then controller voice only through my headset or am I asking too much?

Are PMDG planning on adding more failures to the NGX? I for example would like to see a failed Airspeed indicator!?

Hi Everyone,,I downloaded and installed the new service pack. Everything works fine but I can't install liveries. I had no problem installing liveries before. I have the ptp files for the liveries in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I aim for that location, choose the appropriate plane for the livery on the left side(800NGX WL)and hit the field ( I can't read it) just below where it says "to install a livery'. A window then opens with no ptp files in it. I then tried dragging the liveries into it and clicked on open. Then a dialogue box appeared that said "This texture folder already exists, please enter a new texture" No liveries are a…

I have been flying the above plane for a number of months and have had no real problems however that has changed recently. In mid flight (in the cruise) the plane lurches to the left for some reason. Payload and fuel seems to be ok as far as balance goes and have disabled winds aloft in Active Sky 2012. Can anybody think of a reason why this is happening, I am no expert so i suppose I could be doing something wrong!!!!!! Oh dear, my second topic in 1 day!!! :Hypnotized:Anyhow, I use SimRoutes to figure out my routes, and, just today (like in my other post) I was doing KPDX-KSEA and it said that a possible route was RIVR6 BTG OLM6The thing is, on my FMC I have RIVR7, BTG, and OLM7. Why is the number different like that? Only yesterday I was doing KEWR-KPHL (both flights on VATSIM) and the controller told me EWR7 departure, but I only have the EWR8. Is my AIRAC outdated? I'm using AIRAC 1108. Thanks.

Hello!Every tenth flight or so I get a master caution with that yellow zone temp indication on the OVH (see pic)I have no idea what is wrong because all temperatures are in normal ranges. Any idea what I can do?

I was shooting the ILS 33L into KBOS just now. Following the checklist, verify that both NAVs are tuned, identifier is displayed, and course is correctly set on both pilot and co-pilot displays. Capture the LOC, capture the G/S, Cmd A and B both selected and I'm coming in perfectly. I get to 500 ft and "NO AUTOLAND" displays. Not a major problem as I disconnected the autopilot and hand-flew it in, but I was wondering why Autoland didn't engage. Did I possibly miss something?

When I set my stab trim for takeoff I feel as if I am estimating the value on the wheel dial.I cant seem to see the actual value as in the tutorial (p44&45) when setting the Stabilizer value.Can any one point out how else I can determine if it is correct or is it safe anywhere in the green band and roughly to what is says in the CDU ?Would this be why every time I take off I have an audible alert, and sometimes not or is it that have a missed a step in the takeoff config ?

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix these lights? It's is ONLY this area, and it doesn't matter which variant, paint, or resolution I use. It's still there.

I'm repeatedly getting terrain and pull up warnings flying into KPHX when on track and glide slope - including autolandings. Is there a way to inhibit these warnings on final approach? - better I would have thought the NGX would auto inhibit these on final. Could someone please advise - I don't see this mentioned in the manuals or forum.

I flew KSNA-KSFO recently using the usual CHANL1 RZS J501 BSR BSR2 at 36000. However, at around FL280, the climb dramatically slowed to around 400 fpm (maybe less), and I got "unable cruise altitude." This seemed strange because at a reasonable rate of climb the plane could easily make 36000; they fly even higher sometimes in the rw route. Am I doing something wrong here?Thanks for any replies,Kyle

Hi everyone,I've been experiencing this problem since I bought the NGX. On some flights, I have all the sounds fully working (like gpws, TCAS, knobs and switches etc) but in oders they dont work at all, the cockpit is completly mute, altho the engines and other sounds work fine. Does anyone have an idea of what could be happening? I tried re-installing the NGX, and kept the same problem..now I installed the patch 1b and still have the problem. I'm trying to find a pattern on the matter to see If I can find out whats going on, but I can't find anything unusual that could trigger the problem...simply on some flights it works and others it doesnt, sometimes even reloading to…

Hi Folks, I have used the 800/900 paint kit to design a livery and have flipped and saved each fusilage segment at DDS files. But I'm a little lost as to where to place them and how to get them to work in FSX. I added a new config entry as the paint kit document stated, but must be doing something odd. The manual assumes I know more than I do :) Is there a bullet point type of step by step that may be available? I'd like to paint the tail too. I do have of course all the PMDG aircraft and frequent the Avsim forum for PMDG, who do a pretty good job of keeping us informed of upcoming SP's and workarounds. But how about all the other stuff. So we have the option to use the steam gauge standby instruments or the ISFD in the NGX.From what I learned, the ISFDs showed up around 2003 and are now delivered with all newer NG aircraft.What I'd like to know is whether there is a significant tendency among airlines to replace the analog standby instruments in already delivered/older NGs with ISFDs or if the analog gauges are considered good enough in most cases.Maybe someone with real-world experience could comment on this.Thanks

I tried all settings available in Catalyst Control Center and nothing solved.It was just solved when I adjusted in FSX the Global Texture Resolution to High and enabled Preview DirectX 10. It was not necessary to enable AA (anti-aliasing) both in FSX and in Catalyst Control Center. Read an advice a couple of days ago regarding video driver versions where someone suggested not to use the latest version but instead use a version that is known to be stable with FSX and then stick to it since not much will improve with new video driver versions in regard of FSX. The reason behind the suggestion was a guy who had problems using the latest Nvidia driver (280.26) and he reported that after downgrading to an older version (can't remember the exact version out of my head) his problem was solved. I know it should be possible to do the various BITE tests through the CDU, if I'm not mistaken I did some of them a while ago.However, I can't seem to find how to do them anymore? When I try to do them now, by going to the MAINT page in the CDU, I end up on the OPTIONS page in the PMDG SETUP section.Am I forgetting something here?

Hey all,So I completed all the checklists in toms tute, started the plane up went to the external view only to find a stationary beacon light??It was just a glowing red, but sometimes it was off?Any ideas?Also on the roof of the NGX next to the beacon light there is a raise in the fuselage? I know this is part of the 737 800s, but what's is it? And how come it only showed up after starting the engines?

Has anyone else seen this? Notice the fonts for the Flight altitude & landing altitude. The numbers are a weird font. Not "digital" looking like the MCP. I know this wasn't like that on the initial install. Tried re-installing. Same thing.
