In the 737NGX does VNAV work in an RNAV approach?

Hi there, I am a bit worried about my recent NGX 737 purchase because of my broken computer.I downloaded the NGX 737 on 09 January, paid by credit card and everything worked well. After several hours of playing my computer crashed completely (notebook, E-Machines). I am now unable to reboot the computer and fear that I need a new computer and/or lose all data. I still have warranty for the computer but the customer service employees (E-Machines) told me already that all data would be lost if they need to install a new hard disk. I therefore may need to re-download everything. I didn't even have the time to back up the downloaded files since the computer crashed only ho…

I have a question regarding the ATC restriction to maintain a certain (usually very high) speed to the outer marker (or some similar distance to the runway).Often when I'm flying on VATSIM and there's many traffic ATC tells me to maintain (for example) 170kt to the outer marker. But when maintaining such a high speed until I'm almost at the runway I can't slow down ealy enough to configure the aircraft for landing above 1000ft, which is the limit where you should have configured your aircraft for landing.How do you do this in real life?

Hey fallows,i saw this one: and it confused me, i am almost sure i heard from a real pilot the autopilot engaged 400ft AGL and the VNAV 800ft AGL, why they did not engaged the autopilot? after 800ft?

I have just purchased the NGX737-800-900 .Now I have downloaded some liveries and one of them is the KLM 800NGX winglet.Trying all the liveries I was amazed that the only one in the series that I have downloaded with no HUD was the KLM.Does this belong to this livery or is this a bug.Perhaps there are more liveries out there that do not have HUDs, due to compagnies policy.I have already re-installed the livery and the same result is the same.Does someone know anything about this??????????????Thanks in advance.Carlos

Hi,I'm currently doing some research on building a cockpit for the NGX. My question here is around the software that will power the flight displays on the MIP.I know we can undock the flight displays on the NGX, but this is a little limiting as some of the displays will be powered by other computers. So, I was thinking of using Orion 737NG DU.I've done some testing with the demo version of Orion, and I have found that there are several issues. As Orion is script driven, I'm sure these issues can be worked out, but it will take some time. I also wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel, so I thought it would be a good idea to ask the question here.Has anyone been able to config…

I noticed it just today. If you move far away in VC view, you'll see this white ''pmdg flying box''. What is it for? :(

I have a problem with the outside air temprature (OAT). Whenever flying the OAT rises up to about 15° at FL100-150 and then goes down again.I'm not sure if this is a problem with the NGX systems which are showing the temprature to me or with ASE which is actually inserting the weather into FSX.I only know that this is surely not realistic and so any help regarding this issue would be greatly apprechiated.

Will PMDG ever consider doing an update for the NGX which will enable the onboard weather radar to work. After just recently installing REX and flying with real weather I've realised how handy and cool it would be to have a weather radar onboard! Hey guys.So, I spent the weekend reading about different people raving about how good Lockheed Martin's Prepar3d is compared to FSX. I decided to try it for a month, paid the 10 bucks. I learned how to install the PMDG 737NGX, really easy, although it didn't work 100%, probably because it didn't write the DLL.XML with the correct information. The pressurisation font was weird, and I had no HUD, but everything else looked fine.I was thinking about ditching FSX and making Prepar3d my default platform, I loved that I could finally Alt-Tab to Windows and back to FS without any problems, that alone was worth it. Hi, I have recently been having a spot of trouble with my FSX. Part of trying to fix these errors was reinstalling the add-ons I had, including my NGX. I totally forgot that the download URL had an expiry date and I hadn't come round to backing up the files on an external hard drive. So my question is: is there any way of reclaiming my NGX without making the purchase again? Probably a stupid question, but any help much appreciated. Thanks - Alistair.

I just got my PMDG expansion! Happy with it, except every time I start a flight; the CMD autopilot won't engage.My FD is on, all my generators, my FMC is happy, that F%$# thing won't engage for the life of it. I had to stop a flight because it wouldn't engage!The only thing I can think of is my yoke isn't in "Neutral Position"; but what the heck is "neutral position", and how are you supposed to put it in neutral position when you're flying with headings your supposed to turn to... altitudes that the ATC has commanded you to go to!??Is there a way to turn this off?Thanks, don't mean to dong PMDG; they did an excellent job, but it's frustrating!

Hi,This is the second time I post this, and I'm not sure if it's NGX related, but since some time, I'm having lots of API.dll crashes. It happens randomly at any point. Around 1 out of 5 flight are with a crash. I have UiAutomationCore.dll. I have recently also the msvcr71.dll, I also have the newest version of FSUIPC (and my G3D.dll errors are gone). I just don't know what's causing this. My overclock is stable as I did 3 tests of 12 hours.I hope someone can help me with this.These kind of things is the reason that I'm getting fed up with FSX. It's is great game, but just too unstable for the pc's and OS's of nowadays.

The included degree isn´t degree at all in the NGX, the ac is doing the degee asmeter (or feet if one use that). So therefore the pushback wil be far to long and completly wrong.So I wonder if this would be corrected in the SP2?/ Leffe

So I'm sure I doing something wrong but not sure what. I'm trying to auto- land in Jackson Hole, Wyoming on RNAV Y 19 using Deceb as the transition. The plane gets down to about 20 feet but won't touch down on the runway and keeps flying. According to the FAA charts, the TDZE is 6451, Apt Ele is 6451. The FMC gives final attitude for that approach at 6501. When I attempt to change it to the published altitude (6451) I get an invalid entry notice. I'm sure the problem will be obvious to some but not to me. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what I'm doing wrong here.Thanks a lot,Brian

Last version form Nvidia Inspector 1.9.5.7, brings the preliminary fps limter in nvidia drivers.I have tested just a little with it, and i have seen that exterior views have some improvements with texture loading, some, not so much IMO.The cockpit view , has some jerky movements...need more testing with other values.If you want to test it, look for it in Common section of NVInspector...Best wishes to evryone.Miquel Egea.

All the 737's I flew before this one (including the previous PMDG iteration, and seeing it on film), had the ability to set full thrust by firewalling the throttles, and they would automatically set max N1 without going over. This 737 does not seem to do that. What am I missing? I know about the TO/GA button, but I've never had to use it. I flew in a full 737 simulator, again there, TO/GA not required.Sacha

On a flight from London Heathrow to Zurich, I had my first fire warning since flying the NGX, on any PMDG plane for that matter.I had noticed during the flight that the brakes were still hot even 40 mins after takeoff, so decided to monitor situation. In due course, fire alarm went off and wheel well fire light came on. After short period of indecisiveness, I read the QRH which told me to slow down so that I could lower the landing gear. This seem to work and the fire warning indications ceased. I kept the gear down but the brakes continued to rise in temp to 10c until landing.Just thought I would share. After the engines start and are running, I have to switch the generators on so there are no blue lights.And I switch the apu off.However I have had some trouble of late, where if I do switch the APU to off or switch the generators on. (I think it has happened with both). The power battery power goes off and the FMC resets itself. Also the fuel goes back to 100%. When I am pretty sure I set it to 1/3 in the FS options in the CDU?What am I doing wrong here?

Hello to all,I'm in the process of reinstalling my FSX computer. Almost finished and started installing aircrafts.I first installed the NGX 800 + SP1B. Lauched FSX and activated the plane.The quit FSX and installed the expansion. Launched FSX. On activation I messed up and put my NGX key...Activation was sucessfull.After loading the plane in game panels black and throttles were on full....I uninstalled the expansion.Reinstalled it again and activated it with the correct code.Activation was successfull, lauched a flight with 737-600 in Seattle. Panels still blank and no please wait loading bar...The NGX seems to be working fine, what should I do to get the expansion workin…
