PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by ksta,

Hi. I've heard that PMDG built the NGX with Boeing's blueprints; however, this does not preclude PMDG from making mistakes (anyone who's watched the Nick's 737NGX Walk-Around video on flyaoamedia.com would be aware of this).I've attached a picture that shows a possible error with the NGX wingbox (indicated by green lines) where the position of the NGX ram-air intake is well forward of the ram-air-intake position on the actual 737 NG (compare the ram-air-intake position relative to the Krueger flap). I've also included a comparison of an actual 737 NG wingbox with that of the NGX wingbox to show the differences in wingbox shape (the NGX wingbox is more "rectangular" in app…

Hello, I am what you call a newbie here, just going through the steeeep learning curve and the procedural manuals (and, incidentally, also through these great [great for clarity and quality!] video tutorials on youtube made by 'fsxpilot767', no doubt an FO in the real world, thanks Mister!) all of this despite my over 2000 real flying hours -by this, of course, I mean flying, not pushing buttons, hence the tough experience ! but I really love it, thanks PMDG.Anyway, my question here relates to the fact that the livery manager fails at every attempt (see enclosed pic) although I know I am loading the right textures to the right model, etc.Anyone can help, please ?Thanks in…

Hi!I have a Samsung SyncMaster P2370 at 1920x1080 at the first port of my graphics card (see my specs). On the second one I have DualHead2Go (which is practically a second monitor).I am always running FSX+NGX on fullscreen mode and get 25 FPS averaged, but when I click e.g. at the ND and pull it down to the DualHead2Go monitors, my frames increase to only 19-20 FPS averaged.Do you have any ideas to improve the performance with multiple monitors? Or could Extreme FSX PC V2 an idea to improve my frames?Cheers

Hey guys,I´m currently hoping arround the whole Southwest network on the west coast. today I wanted to change the livery into the "Nevada One" livery but its winglets are unpainted, no Southwest logo on it. I´ve checked in the net and it appears that all logojets have their winglets unpainted. Has that any deeper logic?

Hello,Does somebody know what is the IRS drift rate for IRSes used in the b737-800? I was testing this error in the simulator, and after ~10hrs I have average drift rate ~ 0.1nm / h, which seems to me a little low, at least when compared to b737 accidents caused by IRS misalignment.Jakub

  6. Everyone,We forgot to specifically mention this earlier tonight:Panel states and aircraft option inis created with pre-SP1 versions of the NGX are not compatible with SP1. We tried to avoid this but too many things changed and they have to be remade. Livery artwork itself is ok, but the options ini needs to be remade in the SP1 FMC.Panel states need to be remade using the SP1 FMC as well - old ones are going to cause weird problems, we've already seen some reports that are probably the result of this.

Hi everyone,I use to have a look at this thread to enter coordinates for routes using NATs and PACOTs.But for the first time the other day, I had to fly to an airport, missing in the AIRAC.This airport is SCAS, coordinates are S45°2359.99 W72°3959.99What I did, following the advice of a real pilot, is putting another airport as arrival, but entering the coordinates of the real airport as a waypoint, so the FMC would drive me to destination (I did actually a Yankee flight). The above mentioned link gives a way to enter coordinates that are not fine tuned enough for this kind of flight, so I did put a 4 figures 1 letter (4572W) waypoint and arrived some nm far from the desti…

Hi I know there are quite few posts ont hese yokes already but I cannot make my mind up to buy one to go with my NGX so was wondering if some one could answer these questions....1 I have Saitek X52 Pro, will it be much much better with Yoke, quadrant and peddles?2 I checked this vid out about a review of it (if you want to see vid it is below) and at 5:38 the guy says the followingA big problem with the yoke is the calibration problem i.e. yoke not centering and that the fix is a registry fix on the Saitek website.Apparnetly it decallibrates itself then you have to run the fix again but you lose all your key assignments each time you do this.He also says it can decallibr…

Hello Everyone,I always hear everyone talk about how easy (or how much better) the VC is to fly with, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the hang of it. For instance to view the overhead.I scroll up with up arrow key and my view of it becomes sideways. Also the switch captions seem to be blurry.to look at. To view the switches on the overhead I have to turn my head 180 degrees to the right (face close to my right shoulder) and then try and cock my head to 90 degrees upwards at the same time, all the while trying to read which switch or toggle is which.Surely there must be a better way of navigating about this VC cockpit?Anyone have some good tips? (I'm still read…

Just on the real one its more of a matt contrast ..Thanks no worries if not just wondered....Thanks StevieSee example below . . . . . . . . . .

Hi captains :wink:i am currently looking at buying a SAITEK Proflight Yoke system.Reading the pro's and contra's here in the forum, i am still not fully convinced or oposed. What i couldn't find out is:Will the flap lever be able to set the various degrees like 1,2,5, and so on ?Will the spoiler lever work as supposed: Arm, adjustable, flight detend etc..Your opinion: sufficient buttons to put most functions (like real world and some more)Is there a ready made profile for this available ?Assign only one lever for both engines is acceptable. (for now )May be you guys, who own this thing, can bring some light into thisand/or talk me out of buying :sad:Oliver

Hello,I have a little question regarding ANP RNP and LNAV.I noticed that sometimes the magenta "diamond" on the LNAV scale from the Primary Flight Display wasn't always centered. With a "normal" zoom (20- 80NM) on the Navigation Display, I can see "0.0" under the white triangle that represents the aircraft with RNP 1.0 and ARP 0.06. But when I zoom in (for example with 5 nm scale), sometimes I can see 0.02 or 0.04 left or then right then back to 0.00, 0.01 then again 0.02, 0.04 L or R etc... So the aircraft is slightly right or left from the magenta line.I've read that some people had troubles with their FSX config and LNAV. I don't think it's the case for my FSX and 737NG…

I noticed that in SP1b the radio direction needles (ADF, VOR) don't swing anymore like they did in the RTM version. I have tried to find the item in the change list of SP1 and SP1b but it isn't there. I know there have been many requests to reduce the swing effect. However it seems to have been removed completely. I quite liked it.Could it be that while it was being adjusted for SP1 it didn't get added back? Or was it a deliberate decision to remove it?

Hi all, just wanted to report that with the latest NAVDATA from Navigraph installed (Cycle 1113), I get a "NAVDATA OUT OF DATE" message from the FMC.It apparently doesn't know how to handle "OpProgram=DEC15JAN11/12" in fmc_ident.txt when the year turns over.Is it a problem with the navdata information or with the FMC?

Alright, so this is a problem that I've heard one or two other people have had that has left me completely clueless.A while back (incidentally, immediately after I installed SP1b), I started seeing this strange problem with the NGX in the virtual cockpit view. Basically, a lot of gauges, knobs, and switches don't work. The list (or at least, the list of observed gauges that don't work)1. Battery switch2. Most lights3. The MCP4. Frequency tuning knobs5. Most of the pressurization and climate control panel6. A few others that I forgot (posting from a different computer right now)When I mouseover, wheel or click on the switches/knobs/buttons, the cursor appears as it…

With the release of SP1b I see that SIDs and STARs are not being loaded into the FMS. My question is though, if I import my plan into the FMS can I then edit them in or should I take the route inputs from the plan and manually build the entire route using the SIDs and STARS in the FMS?Thanks

Hi guys,I´ve got a very anoying "problem" with the NGX HUD: I most turns, the HUD will shift slightly to the side to which the turn was made and I have to shift my eyepoint a notch towards this side to get it back. It occurs in the air and on ground. Has someone an idea how to prevent that?Btw, I shifted my eyepoint a bit back, could this be the problem in here?
