Hi folks,today I decided to try a oil leak failure on the right engine. So I setup the failure and slowly I could see the oil level reduce. Once it dropped below a specific point, I noticed the oil temperature rising. Initially into the yellow band and then into the red limit. The oil quantity dropped to 0 but what do you know, the engine lived on happily. Oil pressure was still normal (a miracle?) After around 1.5 hours without a drop of oil indicated and engine still running normally, I decided to activate the oil pressure failure and as the oil pressure dropped to zero, the engine "finally" gave up.Now I know that not all engine oil is indicated when the engine is runn…

I'm flying a route on vatsim KSTL CARDS7 BDF BENKY1 KORDWith center I was assigned direct BENKY climbing out of KSTL (prior to BDF)...I selected that in my FMC, and then manually entered the crossing alt of 100 at BENKY. Unfortunately the rest of the altitudes didn't fill in like they normally do. They still say FL290 (my cruise alt)What happened and why won't they fill in to normal altitudes with a descent profile like normal?It's not really a big deal I just do the mental math on the descent to benky... but the FMC should recalc right?

Hi,I cannot locate the hot spot in the 2D main panel, to open the throttle panel. How does someone access this panel so I can set the trim? I have check all the books I have and also look at all the instrument view within the simaulator and I cannot see where it is.Pierre

Hi,Any chance of having a second ADF receiver fitted? I fly at several air fields in South America where the procedures require two NDBs to be tuned for determining position. No biggie if not, but it is a pain to keep switching between frequencies.Is there a way to assign a keyboard shortcut to the "switch frequencies" button of the ADF receiver?Best regards,Robin.

Hello, something's amiss w/ LM. I install a livery for the 800NGX WL variant and it installs just fine. Either an Alaska Airlines or Southwest Canyon Blue. Now, after a successful install, when I go to install the other, it appears to be installing just fine, however after the installation completes, BOTH liveries have disappeared! I can exit LM, then come back in, and they are still missing. When I open up LM after this occurs, I am asked if I want to delete the XXXX. folder because the livery is not installed. So, according to this mssg, what appeared to install did not install. Anyway, as it stands now, I can have only one livery (beyond the default PMDG one) i…

Good evening all! Quick question, Im lucky enough to fly this aircraft for a living and sometimes when we have time to kill on the flightdeck I mess about creating waypoints and saving them with names that spell messages out as can be seen in this video below at 1.23 mins in (Not my video but found on youtube). Good morning everyone,I always start my 737 NGX flights from Cold & Dark situation but there are lights or bleed switches that I don't know if are correctly set.Does anyone know what changes should be done to predefined C&D state to get a real one?I wish to save it for adding reality to my flights although I do know that pilots are not used to find aircraft "sleeping".Thanks in advance and have a great day.Xiropillo

I recently purchased the NGX and I'm having a little difficulty getting an American Airlines livery into FSX. I have downloaded the PMDG_737NGX_800WL_AA.ptp and it resides in my WIndows7 Library/Documents or my Documents library. Where do I unzip it to? When I use the PMDG Livery Manager nothing appears in the 'Installed Aircraft Variants' to select the American Airlines aircraft. What I'm I doing wrong. Can I unzip it to my 'Aircraft folder in FSX or something? I downloaded the intitial 737NGX software into C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Any ideas would be appreciated.Regards,jen noulet

Hi,when starting FSX and loading one of the NGX aircraft, this can take over three minutes to load before FSX then allows me to choose the airport, weather, time etc.I appreciate this is a monster program for the NGX to run, but once I get FSX started the aircraft, airfield, weather etc loads extremely fast.I recently upgraded my pc to an I7 quad processor with 8mb ram and 560 NVidea graphics card, which runs FSX with most sliders maxed out, I just have the initial problem in having to wait about three minutes for the NGX to change from the basic microlight initially.Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this as it is a new pc?ThanksWillie G

Hi Pilots,So i set random failures because its fun to deal with emergencies. However i have a question about setting them. Lets say i start out C&D - i start up with the battery and APU - then i go to the CDU and i plug in "2 Events per 10 hours" "Unlimited events" - then i click EXEC and i go about setting up the plane for the rest of the flight.Lets say I fly from KFJK to KDEN - no failures happen....thats fine...but if i quit the game and reload the plane from scratch, as in not load a saved flight - does it still remember the roughly 4 hour flight to Denver in terms of the "per 10 hours", or do i have to set it up again.If i restart the game after landing in Denv…

I can't seem to turn TCAS on help!And another problem is that the fuel system, I load 50% in the game but it shows thy I have 90% then 50% then 90 then so on.. Back and forth and weight keep changing also it happens on my PMDG B747/8i

Hello,I did some reading in de ngx pdfs and search here in the forum and also did some mid air tests but just can not understand what cws should do, or let it do anything for me.As I understand it, it should hold / take over a hand flown pitch and / or roll.So let's say that i fly under I steady streaght cmd autopilot and then use my stick and point that a.c. to a sertain point / in a steady bank the cmd goes off. Cws comes on and also cws p and r come in my pfd.I tried holding a 5 dgs turn steady but can not get the cws r from yellow to green and let the autopilot hold my turn.Could somebody explain the intended work for cws and or give a simple test idea?Thanks,Maikel R…

HelloFirst, I want to apology for my poor english.I have a very annoying problem with the LNAV and VNAV autopilot in PMDG 737-800 NGX- I set the flight plan, climb detail information etc. to FMC.- Enable the both FD and ARM the autothrottle, LNAV an VNAV before take off- Proceed take off with TO/GA, after a while about few feet above ground, the VNAV engage (button green light on), and later LNAV engage (but button light is off)- I am enable first CMD A autopilot, then LNAV- But first waypoint in SID procedure LNAV autopilot didn`t make it (LNAV disconnect), I am trying enable again LNAV but he ALWAYS disconnect after very short time (2 - 10s), VNAV follow- OK, then i fly…

is it possible to use track ir 5 only in the VC? i mean when i change to the wingview..i dont want to use track ir sight..the default sight, changed a bit with the tastatur..is is possible to chance something in the camera definition ..that track ir dont get "actice" in special sights? hope u understand what i mean :D

i have been thinking about PMDg making a FFS where instructor's stations are made. we can set weather failures, check out systems status, set the plane's position,etc. that will be cool. Is there any possibility that PMDG can do it?

I am curious what PMDG NGX pilots prefer, Radar Contact or FSCommander ? Perhaps there is another one out there that I do not know of. I don't want to spend the money if it does not integrate well with NGX.

Hi,I fly real life FAR 135 charter in piston twins, CE421. Never had any 121 airline experience. I was intriged by the post on minimum fuel requirements a while down the stack here at the forums. Our alternate requirements obviously concern weather, a slight variation of the 123 rule. However as part of airline policy, obviously it is ultamitly up to the captain, but if the weather is good do you guys usually have an alternate. I am not saying "file" an alternate but perhaps allway carry enough fuel to get their and then for 45 minutes thereafter? In my personal flying, even if the weather is good and the airport only has one runway(2) I always have enough fuel to get to …

Hi guys,what do you use for fuel planning withing the NGX? In the past I did it out of my experience (I have now arround 15 h in the 737-700 and about 30 in the -800) but these were mainly short flights so I was always spot on. But I´m now planning some longer ones (e.g. PDX-MSP) and therefore it´s very important to get the fuel right. Btw. does someone have the time to make a Excel sheet for fuel prediction? I had one for the 747 and it worked very well.
