I understand that when within 2NM of an approach fix such as a DME arc etc or 2,000 ft above the destination airport the FMS switches to VNAV approach logic. I was wondering if this is modelled in the NG?

Hi fellow NGX pilots!I am currently at FL280 (using the great internet-service that Norwegian.com provides) after a day of pilot aptitude and skills assessment tests, which I passed and will begin my training in July.I just wanted to say that what PMDG has done with the sound package of this aircraft is just ridiculous. I've been toying with making a custom shine model for the NGX. I personally found the included environment map a bit strange (or at least, the effect it caused). So I've made an entirely new environment map and Fresnel ramp. The new environment map should eliminate the white/misaligned 'corners' that inevitably form on many envmaps that use the box method. I've also looked into the nosecone area, since the shine on nosecones when viewed from the front never look particularly good, because the environment map is basically being projected onto a half sphere causing any impurities or details to become extremely visible. Hi,installed the SP1c today, everything worked fine. First flight was without problems, later that day, I started another one. Destination Innsbruck (LOWI). After a disastrous approach, I executed a G/A due to weather and set Munich (EDDM) as new destination with an ILS approach. The FMC legs page now showed in the first line no waypoint, followed by a discontinuty and the FAF (BEGEN) for the ILS. My intention was to create a custom designed waypoint to intercept the ILS. I entered BEGEN230/5 in the FMC and wanted to set it in first line of the LEGS page. With pressing LSK1 flight simulator stopped working, sound continued, but no reaction, no crash report.Did I anything …

Hi just taken off and went to retract the landing gear, and noticed had a warning indicating that my right hand gear was still down while the others were retracted. I than recycled the gear with the same results so searched the qrh chapter 14 14.8, 14.12 and 14.18 and didnt see any fault findings that i could solve the issue, so had to turn around and land again.

HiFairly new to this so please excuse my ignorance....I've been reasonably successful with it, but on page 112 it states to turn on both VOR pointers and DME.....is this just flicking the two VOR switches up?If I do that, then the part where the RTT NDB needle starts to appear (P116) doesn't happen, but it does if I move the left VOR switch down to ADF.If someone could help by explaining this approach I'd be really grateful. I've tried following the tutorial to the letter (whilst pausing the sim a lot!) and I still can't get it towork right. I do have a decent knowledge of navaids.ThanksDominic

Looking over the wonderful Tutorial #2 I've found this on page 33, second paragraph: I'm guessing this is a mistake and that the sentence meant to continue about having the correct temperature on upper DU? Or is there a relation between the outside temperature and the FCC showing the maximum thrust sooner then on a non-aspirated probe?In any case, I'm wondering, if the NGX indeed simulates an aspirated TAT probe, should it not have a TAT TEST pushbutton on the Ice panel below the Probe Heat buttons?

Hi everybody,After installing the SP1c I noticed that sounds of the switch, flaps lever, parking brakes, TCAS test, GPWS, gear, seat belts sign etc... didn't work anymore.I uninstalled the 737NGX, then re-installed it again with the SP1b and every sounds worked perfectly. So I tried to reinstall the SP1c but it's the same story. I just have the engine sounds working.Does anyone have an explanation to this problem?Thanks in advance.Vincent.

HiI do not know what you think about this but you who have 737ngx and has knowledges of the different systems, can not you teach us your knowledges, thinking especially of "Automatic flight" and what to do with the autopilot and its different modes?I think most people do not think the flying is the most difficult part to understand. The hard part is the landing. If you can share your knowledge with us so can the rest of us who are not so knowledgeable also get to enjoy more of this aircraft.I have AoA and it's very good but to get some of what you can, are not wrong!?Best Fredrik

Hi Team,At the outset, let me thank you for Sp1c and the myriad update and fixes. This beauty just keeps getting better and better :)One of the things that I noticed that remains unfixed from earlier is the switching logic for the Displays Control panel switch. During my normal preflight actions for the flight instruments(PFD), this is what I do.1. Set the QNH on the Capt's side2. Set the Mins Baro bug to the Thrust reduction altitude on Capt's side3. Instead of repeating the same thing on the F/O side, I just move the Displays Control Panel Switch on the FWD OVHD panel to Both on 1.I verify that the F/O PFD displays the same data as the Capt PFD, which it does correctly …

Included in this post is a picture showing RW25 elevation at EPKK. According to the FMC data it's 829 ft. According to the charts it should be about 781 ft. I have been trying to locate the datafile containing this information in order to change it. I have been looking under SIDSTARS folder for the PMDG folder and NAVDATA folder under PMDG folder as well. I can't find the datafile containing information on EPKK RW25 elevation which gives 829ft. wpnavapt under NAVDATA folder file contains values close to 781 but FMC does not upload these values. Any suggestion on where the 829ft data is located is appreciated. I am experience some strange problems when using ILS 25 EPKK. I…

First two holds I tried, one on approach reversal and the other on the miss procedure were entered and flown very precisely. On my second flight started from an already aloft situtation file to the same airport. On the approach reversal hold (teardrop entry) FMC flew only a 10 degree intercept angle and then turned way into the non holding side. I manually caught the error and corrected it. Then when reaching the Miss Approach hold which was also a teardrop, the FMC turned the wrong way toward the non holding side. I captured the intial turn and have attached it to this post. As the title says, if I try to select an arrival / approach for the airport which I just departed from, the sim freezes and I have to shut it down.For example, say I program the FMC to go from PAKT to PAJN, and I load a complete route. Then, after takeoff, I want to come back to PAKT (because someone forgot the Colombian coffee) so I select DEP/ARR page and then press the LSK for PAKT. At that moment, the sim freezes. Happens at every airport, not just these two. The only way to select an approach to the same airport which I depart from is to make it the Destination in the RTE page 1. After that, I can select an arrival in the DEP/ARR page.Anyone else seeing this? Want to…
