Ryan and PMDG team, thank you for this great Tutorial #2. Although I know 737 quite well (only through simming, years of experience), I went through this tutorial in all detail and although I know LOWI approach quite well - flew it quite many times, one of my absolute favorites - still I managed to learn some new things!Already a quite good approach is now nearly perfect. I'm going to be using fixes now way more often and I'll remember to open flaps and gear way prior to descend! I love RW08 landings btw!And oh yeah... real world weather. AS2012 gave me some taste of the real world! Some shots, enjoy!

Hello there,I have a quick question about the FCOM manual that ships with the NGX. There are 3 different procedures for Takeoff, cruise, etc based on different Airworthiness Directives, Master Caution Systen Logic Change and Automatic Shutoff. After a bit of searching I could find out what AD stated for, altough it didn't help me choosing the right procedure for the 800. So, what do those different procedures mean?Thank you!

Hi there, in the 737 selecting the CLN8R SID from EGSS the 737 crashes and makes fsx unresponsive. No idea what it is, and only happens with this SID. I have installed the update and initial hotfix and no joy. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

When programming the FMC, it shows a slot for Gate. How do I enter that for KJFK that has multiple terminals. Like if I was at Terminal 8 Gate 7?

I posed this in the FSX forum as well. I just received my Saitek yoke, throttle and peddals and was looking for any set up tips. (formerly used CH products). One response was to just use FSUIPC to assign buttons. However the introduction manual seems to discourage this so I am looking for tips from PMDG and Saitek users here. On the throttle quadrant the middle lever is for flaps but with no dentents how certain are you that you are setting the correct flap setting without starring at the gauge and hoping it doesn't slide by. Latly the spoiler lever, can you move it part way to arm as you would on teh PMDG throttle s it still best to use key strokes. Thanks

Hi,I am experiencing a strange autobrakes behaviour: after landing, and after autobrakes have been disarmed by manual braking or forward movement of speedbrakes lever, if autobrakes selector is reset to the "no autobrakes" position while the aircraft is still taxiing, this causes a sudden full braking action which brings the aircraft to stop unless toe braking is applied again (as if autobrakes were armed again and needed to be disarmed again).I don't think this is normal behaviour....do you have any idea how to fix it ?ThanksRegards

This probably me or my mouse but I thought I'd ask in case any of you clever guys has any ideas.Since SP1c I seem to get double keying on the FMC. For example I'll think I'm keying EG and when I look I see I've got EEGG.Has anyone else experienced this?Iain Smith

Captains-We have just made the PMDG 737NGX SP1 patch installer available for you to download. This SP1 update is a rollup of all the changes/tweaks/fixes and additions that we have made the the PMDG 737NGX Base Package since it was released on 04AUG11.What Does the SP1 Do?:This SP1 focuses on stability and efficiency while also correcting some logical errors and adding some new functionality in the process. How do I install SP1?Easy! Just download and run the installer!Note: The installer includes a vast number of changes, and it is going to overwrite your aircraft.cfg files, which means that your liveries will need to be installed. This being the case, we generally reco…

Hello there. In the 737 when engaging the VNAV below 10,000 ft the aircraft can climb far to rapidly initially and then steady out. Is it possible to set a maximum climb rate within the fmc to ensure VNAV doesn't exceed 3000 fpm ^ ?

Dear All,Happily enough, I can see that most of the frequencies published on the NDAC charts are working perfectly in FSX, namely the ground stations and the ATIS frequencies. To my understanding, the ground stations should be tuned on the VHF NAV radio, while the ATIS frequency should be tuned on the VHF COM radio, which both of them operate on same type of waves (VHF) but in different ranges (although quite near to each other). Now, while preparing to descent to Larnaca (LCLK), I should be tuning ATIS on the VHF COM radio to hear about the weather and available runways for landing. I do that using the VHF COM 2 radio. The chart - for some reason - says that the ATIS freq…

Good evening (to most of Europe anyway). Was hoping I would be able to run through Tutorial 2 today and I was in fact doing quite well until my 737 just stopped responding to me. I was on the ground at EHAM (Ok maybe I wasn't doing THAT well) going through the ALTN DES page as described through the tutorial. I got to the part where the tutorial reads Which I did and firstly all the values that were in on the page which were calculated from current position were gone. I thought it may be calculating so I left it for a couple of seconds and still nothing. I thought I would try going back and trying this portion of the tutorial again but to no avail. The FMC would not respo…

Hi AllMy question refers to Ryans Tutorial 1 and is a general question. In this this tutorial we plan a flight from EGKK to EHAM and in the turorial the route is input into the FMC from take off to landing. My question.... in normal airline ops would a pilot be aware of STARS and active runways in use before departure or would this be obtained during the flight ?If it's available before the flight is this info available to the simmer ? I understand this could change due to weather etc., but I am more interested in 'everyday' procedure.Loving this fantastic product and thanks for the awesome guides Ryan :-)Kind RegardsMark Lindley

On page 49 it saysArm the AUTOTHROTTLE by clicking the switch on theMCP up into the ARM position. You’ll see a green lightappear confirming that it’s on. The PFD flight modeannunciator (FMA) also shows ARM. (A green box appearsaround the mode for a few seconds to indicate the change)I've gone through this with a fine toothcomb and cant work out why the FMA doesnt show ARM.Any ideas please?thanks

Hello 737 captains out there,I've a short question: Does anybody of you also have this strange issue of an open hatch in the back of the airplane (right side, near the rear cargo door)?I'm not talking about the equipment hatch behind the front wheel...Funny, but that hatch was always closed prior to updating the beatiful 737 to 1c...Still I'd like to say THANK YOU to the whole PMDG team for this excellent job and continous support.By the way: There is even a lot of realism concerning that open hatch, because the problem is only on the ground - during flight the air seems to push the door almost in a closed position:-)Always happy landings to all of you, kriggelb

Hi,I have a problem with the front window view with the PMDG NGX.I've installed the SP1c-Version right now (Win 7 64-bit)The first sight after using the NGX is looking like picture 1. You're looking directly to the runway. It's not possible to change the view angle.Turnaround solution at the moment to fly the NGX:Create a new window (picture 2) This front view is normal.Afterwards close the first sight view to get the sight of the new window (picture 3).The problem repeats after looking to the right or left.I hope somebody could help me (it's not real looking just in the front especially flying online).best regardsUwe

Hello all, My request is for a panel state that would be similar to the state of the aircraft found when a new crew enters the aircraft for a flight. Basically, if a new crew was taking over the aircraft, during the normal course of the day (not the first flight of the aircraft), what would the panel state be when the new crew comes on board?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Respectfully,Mark B.

I would really like a 2D 3840x1080 cockpit for this bird, the PMDG 737NGX.1) I guess it's possible to have a 3840x1080 with two gtx580 in sli, to begin with?2) Can I use FS Panel Studio in FSX for PFD, ND, warnings etc. for the FO side? Does FS Panel Studio work with 3840x1080?I have made the "PMDG_NGX_Main_Wide.BMP" into a picture with both sides on, so background for both the captain and the FO - in 3840x1080.3) If I can't use the program "FS Panel Studio", is it possible to do it by editing the "panel_Wide.cfg"? (and should I also edit the "panel.cfg"?)4) Is it possible to see all the available gauges like"gaugeXX=PMDG_737NGX!MasterCautionSystem_Captain" but for the FO…
