  1. Hi, This is a first. Yesterday while flying at cruize altitude FL390, the aircraft started to roll from left to right appreciably and almost banked at 50 deg. As a result 1) I started getting "Bank Angle: warnings 2) LNAV switched off many times as I tried to manually stabilize the path. 3) Autopilot switched off CMD-A. I could never get it back on. There were no warning signs other than the bank angle. Is this something to do with winds at high altitude? Are there any simple resolutions? Thanx Sanjay Dhareshwar

you guys talk a lot about locking down the FPS to 30. Are we talking about limiting the FPS in FSX or using an external limiter? I've got *******' tweaks which work extremely well, and even he mentions "set FPS to unlimited and use an external limiter". I've tried setting FPS limit =30 using the nvidia inspector tool, but this makes performance considerably worse, and I've read other posts where it can actually cause problems with the sim locking up or freezing. So the question is, which frame rate limiter, how do you use it?

  3. Ok first of all, I am having the same issues as this guy in this forum: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?249821-PMDG-737NG-VC-problem Basically in the VC, everything is black, pfds etc, I am unable to control anything via my mouse i.e click on objects, I have also calibrated my yoke/quadrant but, only the throttle works but is not reflected via movement in the pedestal. Flaps fail to work also. Basically its a cold and dark set up but with movement, everything else is dead?

  4. Can anyone give me any hints with the NGX landing RNAV 02 at MHTG? Can I break away from the magenta flight path towards the white dashed runway lines to align myself for the runway earlier as I can't seem to make that short sharp turn just before the runway, or is that not proper procedure? I end up being to far out to the right. Also before installing LatinVFR MHTG I was able to hear the ATIS on 127.75, now nothing. I have a similar issue with Queenstown, NZ after installing NZSI. Any ideas what causes this or how it can be fixed ? Cheers, thanks

  5. Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to change the assignments for the NGX's popup 2d windows (the ones that are usually brought up with shift+1...9) because its a bit fiddly on fsx with trackir and movement etc. I'd like to replace the lighting panel (shift 2) with the 2d mcp which currently lies outside the 1-9 range. Any help would be greatly appreciated and a huge belated congrats to the PMDG team who still have me hooked on this plane. Thanks, Sam

I got a route from KLAX to KCVG from my virtual airline so I went to simroutes.com and download a flight plan in PMDG format. I then loaded it into the FMC but was unable to use autopilot with it. I then tried to manually make it in the FMC following the first tutorial's instructions. But while I was setting waypoints I didn't know which ones to use as there were so many. I selected one with vectors which was actually another problem further along. I took off and was able to engage autopilot but soon realized the plane would not follow the waypoints. There was no purple line connecting to the first waypoint and all the plane wanted to do was go to waypoint (VECTOR) which …

  9. Hello, i just tried a short circling around EDDF Frankfurt/Main, setting ANEK6L Sid for a runway 18, after levelling off at the FL100 i chose a STAR for ILS rw 25C, and then the pc froze. After some tests, i came to the conclusion, that this crash occurs only, when in cruise setting, tried it in climb for example and nothing bad happened, using Airac 1108, sp1c.

  10. Also I have just started using Active Sky 2012, using VATSIM weather when flying the NGX. I was wondering if anybody else was experienceing any issues that make flying difficult. Tonight I really tried to fly in to the destination airport nice and slow and easy. The weather was very thundery and there was turbulance which I set to medium in AS. At about 5000f the controlller gave me a decent of to 4000f and then quite quickly to 3000f. The speed though just kept rising even with the spoilers out all the time. I even put some flap out 10 knot to early (over the green marker) to try and slow things out. I know your not meant to slow the plane with flaps bu…

AS my FSX starts to fatal more and more I have bitten the bullet and installed an SSD to fun FSX. Its 2 years since the last install so you can imagine the add-on's that need to be installed again Is it OK to run the NGX on the 2 systems until I get fully up and running on the SSD? Many thanks. I'm trying to complete the tutorial and get stuck in the physical part of it when setting up for takeoff. It tells me to arm Lnav and Vnav but it doesn't tell me how. I read somewhere that you have to use the FMC but I recall hearing that there are switches in the cockpit.

  14. Greetings; I have quick question. I would check myself but as the sim is in construction this is not possible. With the NGX is it possible for the pilot to override any auto throttle logic that maybe operational by moving the throttle levers ? Thanks, WilloW

First of all let me say I recently bought this aircraft and I am very pleased by its performance and realism. There is one thing though that I'd like to improve and that is the aircraft lights and in particular strobing. The red, green and strobe lack potency/brightness. Wondering if there is any way of improving them by tweaking or other means. Thanks

Hi all, For those of you that have the PMDG 737NGX, you probably noticed that there are 5 panel files in the Panel Folder of the PMDG 737-800NGX. Only one of these files is named panel.cfg. There's a file named panel_4_3.cfg, which is for the 4:3 monitors, and another file named panel_wide.cfg, which is for the widescreen or 16:9 monitors. I'm using a widescreen monitor and my panel.cfg indicates that I'm using the panel_wide.cfg file, but with the file name panel.cfg. My question is for those who are using a 4:3 monitor, does the panel.cfg file use the panel_4_3.cfg file automaticlly based on the monitor or does it have to be edited manually? If it selects the file auto…

I made a thread about my issues with the NGX and navigraph's recent 1207 database... can't find the thread anymore. Anyway someone suggested I upgrade to revision 3 (or 2) of the navigraph data... Where can I get the latest revision, is it at their site or PMDG's site? edit: nm... it's at navigraph and I already had rev3.... hmmm which means some of the DP's and STARS are wrong in 1207...

  19. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I think I've figured it out. I was flying into Ontario CA airport yesterday. As soon as I got to around 2000ft about 40 AI showed up on the TCAS. Looking at other software I use to show AI I only seen about 10. I THINK the 737NGX's TCAS is picking up marine traffic when below 2000ft and in an area that has them. Anyone else see this happening? -Rick

  20. 1. Hello. Does anyone know if there are any good/compatible soundset addons for the pmdg 737? Allthough its a great addon and generally I think the sound enviroment is cool I would sometimes like to here some "shaking and squeething" sounds in the cocpit for example when penetrating rough turbulence? I think in real world turbulence causes that kind of sounds (at least in the passenger cabin:)). 2. Another question regardin flying through turbulence: What would be the correct procedure? If there is heavy turbulence and airspeed bounces, should I disconnect the autothrottle and maintain manually a little bit slower airspeed? How much slower? (I use AS2012 for weath…

  23. I think I take flying the NGX pretty seriously :) That is, I pay particular homage to the technical nuances of the operation and flight of the aircraft, the adherence to procedure, the precision and accuracy of inputs and the care and feeding of the machine itself... All of this has sort of coalesced into what feels like a "personal challenge" of sorts, trying constantly to sort of outdo my last flight in how easily I could adapt to changes, or how smoothly I could perform and manuever or execute a procedure. In essence, I sort of "got into my own head" about the experience. Just recently, I discovered a show on the History Channel called "Air Disaster" :( I…

    1. Could you please add option of voice of captain or first officer announcing the level of flaps when increased or decreased. I find it extremly distracting and inconvenient to turn and look at the tiny flap indicator in the VC. Especially when hand flying. 2. ^ Also for gear deployment and retaction would be helpful. 3. This last one involves trim. I think this is a fair request considering we not only fly lonewolf (as of time of typing), but arent actually sitting in cockpit with full awareness in every sense. Could there be an option to have displayed on either the PFD or ND the trim levels for rudder, aileron and elevator. I realise trimming is probably a 'fe…

  25. Hi folks, I know there are already a lot of instructions of how to concert FS04 liveries to FSX liveries. I have already tried a numerous ways, but all of them didn't really work out. So does anybody has a clue, of how to convert FS04 liveries to the PMDG 737NGX FSX version? I am really thankful for all ideas. Thanks in advance, Chris
