Hi, after reinstalling my FSX the PFD/ND/Upper/LowerDisplay show no letters and no numbers. What can be the reason for that? (WIN 7 64 bit) Regards Peter

Just flown into KORD in the 739 NGX WL (in UA colors, actually this replicated a flight I did recently, to the same gate at KORD, although it was a -900ER model in RL)), and used gate C12. This may be more of a question for the FS Dreamteam forum, however I thought I would try here first. I have the FSDT KORD, also use GSX from them as well. When parking at C12 (which works with the -900ER in RL), and invoking the GSX ground services, i get a GSX error "This parking is too small for your aircraft, ground services are not available". I used the Flight 1 AFX to see what the gate radius is in the FSDT KORD (C12), it shows 78.74 feet. I'm not sure how that correlate…

Attempting to reset my TQ and require a couple of N1 readings from you guys. 1. N1 reading with the power levers all the way back on the idle stop both engine 1 and 2. 1. N1 at full power with the levers wide open to the stops again for engine 1 and 2 All with the aircraft sitting on the ground and brakes on. Cheers, Delf

I purchased and downloaded the 737 package in full (including the 600/700 variants) about a week ago. I am wondering if the downloads include the latest service packs already applied. I did not see anything on the purchase site saying something like, "If you download this after (such and such a date), you do not need to apply SP's 1 through 3" or words to that effect. I see there is a SP1c and am wondering if I need to apply this? Thanks very much. Glenn Davy

In 2006, a Learjet 35 crashed soon after taking off from Campo de Marte (Sao Paulo, Brazil) allegedly due to fuel imbalance: http://www.pprune.org/biz-jets-ag-flying-ga-etc/299010-lear-35-crashes-into-houses-sao-paulo.html * My cousin, who is a 737 NG captain, had troubles with fuel pumps on a flight some years ago and had to land with almost twice the allowed fuel imbalance for the 737-800. But he said to me the 737-800 is able to fly with any fuel imbalance. * In the aircraft mechanics couse I'm attending, the instructor doubted a 737 could fly with much fuel imbalance. * So, what is your opinion? Thanks, Teo Halfen

Ok guys, nothing major, but they should be fixed. 1) The door open warning lights on the overhead panel shut off as soon as I hit door close button in the cdu, in reality, I guess they would only turn off after the door is closed and locked, the light is asociated with the button command and not the animation itself. 2) windshield wiper animation goes out off sync: try flicking the wipers to on, and just as the wiper blade reaches top of its travel and heads down turn it off. The wiper goes back to top, and then down to stowed position. Shouldn't it go down straight away?

Hi I'm looking for the 8.33 Mhz radio spacing on the NGX. The chapter 5.10.2 don't provide informations of how manage this feature and I don't find it on the MCDU (probably I miss it) Could you indicate me how display this third digit? Thanks Guillaume Paulin

On approach to runway 27L at KPHL the NGX's autopilot will not track the center of the localizer, it's tracking inbetween the middle and one circle over to the right. The winds are calm and there shouldn't be anything else causing this. On the pedestal I have 109.30 tuned into both nav radios and the course selectors are both on 265. I checked if the course and frequency given from the FMC was accurate with FSX from the Map and it's exact. I tested it in a Fail operational aircraft to see how the aircraft behaves with a full autoland and rollout and the aircraft never moves to the center of the localizer. The runways also do not line up on the ND to where they are in…

Hi Folks! I've got a repaint-question. how is it possible to create a non-reflecting fuselage. I mean a fuselage, which is not so shiny like reflecting steel. Some aircraft are painted with a mat color. I tried to solve the problem with a black alpha channel, but the result is a transparent fuselage. Anybody her who has any suggestions for me? Thank you, Jack

Hey all- I have found that I am constantly fast coming down from T/D. Some times to the point where the FMS pretty much gives up on attaining speed/altitude restrictions. I deploy the spoilers and drop back to idle but still have some trouble getting slow enough. Should I do an altitude intervention prior to T/D or drop back to idle and do some a speed hold? What do you guys recommend to stay on speed and target during descent. Do get me wrong, I am close but I still end up using speed and V/S to get things under control. Second question - what is the relationship between ALT intervention button and FMC? At what rate will alt inv descend? Th…

Hi I need some help with the 737NGX autothrottle logic for building a motorised throttle quadrant. Could someone tell me how I could determine when the plane commands the autothrottles to on and when they're commanded to off again throughout all the flight modes? I need to power up my servos only when the plane is commanding the throttles and then remove power again when the AT disengages, for whatever reason. I just need to be able to determine when this is happening. Initially I can check for the TOGA button "press", but after this I still need to know when the AT disengages. I'm currently using FSUIPC to read the throttle positions from FSX as well as t…

I thought I'd chunk them all together... I've been flying NGX since it was released, and two of the questions I've never found an answer for. Let's start with my recent Q: With the new 1207 navdata cycle some procedures are messed up... take for example, the PEBLE3 off KSAN. If you load the DP you'll see a loop-d-loop off the departure end. Has anyone seen this and what can be done about it? I ended up flying it manually for that leg. #2: Upon rollout with autobrakes set to 2, then manually breaking, I'm getting a lot of sloppiness, mainly I'm pulling to one side when I try to brake. Is this because of the brake temps? They aren't too bad from the re…

In 1988 TACA flight 110 from Belize to Louisiana was both engine lost. The aircraft make a safe landing in a grass levee. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TACA_Flight_110) The Boeing engineers and test pilots perform an engine change, and the aircraft take off with only one engine. My questions are: 1. Is it possible that a NG take off with only one engine (starting in idle power with only one engine)? 2. What adjust i need to make in control surfaces (rudder, aileron and pitch) for a safe departure? 3. If is possible, can you includes a maneuver example, with left or right engine running? Thanks!

Hey all, I have the CH Products throttle quad that has detents for reverse thrust. While I got the reverse thrust working well and consistently with the PMDG 744X, struggling to achieve the same on the NGX. Best I can do is get a very slight rev, not a full reverse - as if the lever has not been pulled all the way back. For the forward power range, throttles work perfectly. I am using FSUIPC to handle this. I have read elsewhere that PMDG does not encourage FSUIPC with NGX, but what other option do I have to get rev thrust then? I have tried repeatedly with calibrations on the axis but rev remains a hit and miss. Has anyone got this working reliably and consis…

Hi all, This one has been bugging me for quite a while now: I am trying to fly the tutorial from Gatwick to Schiphol, but autoland is putting up a fight. Here's what I do, see if you can spot what's wrong: a. I pass NIRSI, deploy flaps 1. No DRAG REQUIRED AFTER NIRSI message at any time. b. 2.5 miles from EH608, I press the STD button as I pass through 4000ft, as set as transition altitude for our descent. Confirmed 1013 hPa displayed. c. Immediately after b, I press VOR/LOC, confirmed armed (white) VOR/LOC text on PFD. Plane turns onto approach, green VOR/LOC text, flaps 5. d. I press APP, confirmed green G/S text. LNAV and VNAV MCP button lights go out, as in…

Hello. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a real life operations of a 737NG dvd. A while back I purchased the Martinnair MD-11 which was fairly good. However I would be more interested in a dvd that includes full cockpit prepartions as well as the flight etc. Thanks

I have just started flying circuits with the VC but I am having problems. With the 2D panel I have set the zoom view looking over the instrument panel to 1.0 and it all works fine. In the VC at the same setting I cannot see the instrument panel and have to undock the PFD to avoid searching for everything on short finals. Everything also happens so fast when compared to the 2D panel. Is there a setting I should be using? I have tried the view over the panel at 0.4, 0.7 and 1.0 in the VC but it still looks like a 2X simulation rate arrival and the landings suffer accordingly. Any ideas from VC users as to what is best? Gerry

This might be a completely clueless question, but as I get more and more information under my belt with the NGX I accept more and more real world information and try to integrated it into my flight... i.e. I only use real weather from jeppesen (sp?) on every flight to make said flights more realistic... What this introduces is a very real possibility that my shiny and perfectly planned STAR approach that I can fly with my eyes closed will suddenly change on my approach to the airport to a completely different set of runways and approach direction star choices. This happened just the other night where when I contacted my destination airport KSFO expecting runway …

I reinstalled my entire system a few days ago and have had several problem free sessions with the 737NGX since then. Without any apparent reason, FSX has now started to crash when I try to load any variant of the 737NGX. The default aircraft and the PMDG JS41 load successfully. I get a 'Fatal Error occurred' message and FSX restarts. I've tried rebooting to no avail. The Event Viewer gives the following information: Faulty Module Path C/FSX/Gauges/PMDG.737.NGX.DLL Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem and why it has suddenly arisen? Thank you W7 64 I7 2600 AMD 5870 12 GB RAM OS and FSX installed on 256GB SSD

Hey guys, I have used Jack_C's great turtorial videos for managing VNAV descents in the past, when I go back to those posts now (links below) the videos have been removed from vimeo. Does anyone know if these videos are available elsewhere or if anyone has them can they reupload them please. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/344441-do-you-really-need-speedbrakes-video/ http://forum.avsim.net/topic/344559-do-you-really-need-speedbrakes-video-part-2/ Thanks Denis
