I have purchased the boxed version of PMDG 737NGX and I'm working through the tutorial and the printed manual. IN the FMC I see this information navdata active airac 1108 jul28aug24/11 and in the scratchpad nav data out of date Is this a problem? If so what should be done? Jan Friberg

Hi everyone. Does anyone know if PMDG is planing to bring to 737 Polar Navigation option to the 737NGX as a selected option from the FMC ? I do get to simulate a lot of flight above 82 North and as per Boeing flight manual , the maximum flight operating latitude is 82°N and 82°S except for some regions. Maybe it will come with the 777 update or with a future BBJ expension. Your thoughts ? AFL581

Hello! Please could you help me? After take off with the Boeing 737 900 NGX, I activated the Flight director and the speed control, all was working perfect Then (of course) I wanted to activate the Auto Pilot and I pushed one of the four Auto Pilot buttons, BUT NO reaction of the system! Only a little part of a second, the button flashed with a blue light, but this was all According this, I was not able to cruise with AP and was not able to climb up automaticly to the selected flight high etc What is the reason for this failure of the Auto Pilot ? Thank you so much for your answer in advance Best greetings Arno Vienna Austria

I'm not sure how many have delved into the fail operational autoland logic in the NGX (or how many want to!) but I've been experimenting tonight with a few things, and some odd things have come up. It seems to be that the airplane is happy to engage and continue with LAND 3 even with 1 ILS receiver failed. When I fail one ILS I get a 'No Autoland' message on the engine display - as expected. I'm then expecting the autoland status indicator on the PFD to say 'NO AUTOLAND' when passing 1500' RA. It doesn't - it engages in LAND 3 and does the autoland. Should this happen? In another failure situation I fail the standby ISFD. I get a 'NO LAND 3' on the engine display …

Hi all! I'm sure this has got a very simple answer and I've just missed it but how do you get the plane to descend when going down on vnav and reaching the altitude set in the mcp? Once reached this altitude the airplane levels off and even after changing the altitude in the mcp it stays levelled off. I usually go in level change but I'm suspecting this might not be the correct procedure. Apologies if this has been previously discussed. Matteo Capocefalo MED1473

Hey I have a question about the FMS concerning procedure turns in the 737NGX. Upon shooting a full approach with the procedure turn (HOLD) the airplane should be entering the procedure turn (hold) in a teardrop, but it's actually flying it backwards. The entry is right turns and since i'm coming from the opposite direction it should be doing a teardrop then established inbound it exits the hold and shoots the approach. You actually can shoot either a parallel or Teardrop but the teardrop makes more sense. The airplane is literally flying the hold backwards and never establishing itself on the approach. NOW, i'm sure i'm doing something wrong here, the FMS I use at…

Hello everybody, i run fsx at high settings, which always gave me good fps-rate (above 25). Yesterday I bought and installed the pmdg 737 ngx. The exterior view is no problem for my pc, still good fps-rate. But if I change to the interior view, my fps go down to circa 5 pfs...unplayable. If I set settings to low I get 30 fps for the pmdg (by comparison: if I take at this settings the standard boeing, I got over 100 fps^^). Problem is, sooner or later, this setting will hurt my eyes. I only can accept medium settings at least, but then I've only 15 fps with pmdg interior view...it stutters... I already installed SP1c. Has anybody an idea to improve the fps with…

Hi folks, those of you scanning also the Turboprop forum know that I there posted day-by-day plans of the JS4100 operating airlines Eastern Airways, Brindabella (Australia), and Airlink (South Africa). My motivation is always the same: I like to fly some legs of a given aircraft, so I tried to analyse the aircrafts' day plan. So, here you find my (incomplete) findings on the Canadian carrier WESTJET. (See link below) The rather small carriers mentioned above allow a quite consistent analysis of their JS4100s. The format here for Westjet's 737s is different: The vast number of 737s at e.g. CYYC make it rather impossible to decide, which aircraft takes over th…

LM have come out and said they will be supporting the Oculus Rift (http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/118938-Oculus-Rift-Designer-Forsees-Indie-Devs-Driving-VR) with Prepar3D: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/381702-oculus-rift-and-prepar3d/ I have supported this project on kickstarter and I cannot wait to try it out with the PMDG 737. Thoughts?

Hello all, After a long time away from FS, I upgraded my PC and delved back into the FS scene. I downloaded the latest copy of PMDG 737 NGX and was impressed. Until I tried to fly. Within one minute of FS it hangs completely, and doesn't budge. This does not happen to stock FS planes, nor with PMDG B747400X. My PC is: Asus Rampage IV Extreme Intel i7 3930K standard at 3.2GHz 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 Kingston (KHX2133C11D3/4GX) nVidia 680 GTX 2048MB Windows 7 64bit 256GB Samsung 830 SSD for windows, and 3TB drive split 3-ways for FS and other uses. I have no other addons installed yet - only the two PMDG planes. Would a BIOS update help? Thank…

Hi, I´ve just heard of the time-triggered thrust reduction from a pilot. This means that CLB N1 is not initiated by an altitude but by a certain time after takeoff has been initiated (pressing TOGA). Does anybody have some information on this? I guess this isn´t modeled in the NGX. Cheers, Robert

I have noticed for some time that on the EFIS the the left VOR has the facility for loading an ADF radio signal whereas the right VOR has INOP which I interpreted as inoperable. Tonight I did flight to Hamburg(EDDH) and tried placing an ADF signal Hamburg 323 into the right VOR/ADF and it worked showing a light blue alternating signal I then used the left VOR for the ILS radio. I only mentioned this as some might take the INOP as true. On the approach the ADF was static on the beacon. Give it a try. richard welsh.

Hi all! I was wondering if anybody can enlighten me on the correct management of cruise FL changes. I'm familiar with the STEP CLIMB procedure to adopt a higher, more economical FL as fuel is burnt during cruise bit what about a LOWER FL? What is the correct, most professiona way of doing so? I'm refering to FL constraints at WPs that are often encountered (especially in Europe). As an example I often fly from EGNM or EGSS to LIMF and although the optimal FL is always around FL370+ there is on the route (wp XAMAB) a FL constraint for flights directed to LIMF. Unless a massive diversion is done I am therefore required to cross XAMAB at FL350. But XAMAB is around 150+ NM…

I cant find where the cutout switch is for the annoying warning horn for the "landing gear not down" situation if you have flaps 15 or more selected. Sometimes I would find it conveniate to silence the alarm. FCOM just says that it can be silenced by pressing the cutout switch but could someone point out exactly where in the cocpit can I find the button/switch? :)

I have had the 737 NGX for about three weeks now and feel I have read, read and reread the included information but can not find how to create a “CO ROUTE”. I have searched the Internet and find several others who have this problem but have not read an answer. I have looked through this forum for the answer as to not request something that has already been answered. But if someone could help me out with this I would appreciate it. I have saved to FSX but that did not show as a “CO ROUTE” in the FMC. Love the PMDG.

Hi all, Does anyone have any idea why I cant get the warning sounds when running the stall warning tests from a flight that originated from the cld and dark cockpit. No failures set and the aircraft readied for flight as per tutorials (all the way to brakes off). All other sounds are present. I do get the warning sounds if I start with the default flight loaded. This is for the 600/700 and 800/900. To be honest I'm not sure if this is a new development for my installation or if its been like this from the start when I first got the NGX when released. Thanks Simon

Hi all- Ever since I first purchased the NGX, I've noticed that I am not able to input winds aloft data for every waypiont along my route. I looked through the NGX manual, but couldn't find anything that mentioned this occurance. I also talked to a friend who also flies the NGX, and he said he couldn't recall ever seeing this restriction occur when he was inputting wind data. As far as I can tell, there's no ryhme or reason as to which waypoints I can enter wind data for. At first, I thought it had something to do with the SID/STAR that I was flying, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Is this normal, and if it is, could someone please explain it or refer me to …

I have seen on videos that the vertical speed will show values of 750, for example. In the NGX, however, I only see values of 700, 800,etc. Is this a customer option, or is this an error?

Hello All. I have been unable to fly my 737-8/900 due to illness. i bought this beautiful looking plane the 26th Sept 2011. Since then, according to my records, On the 28th of Dec 2011 I installed a patch, On the 7th Jan 2012 I installed SP1B which then gave me 3118, then 5th June I installed SP1c. Could someone who has their 737-8/900 completely up to date please tell me if I have completed everything correctly as i want to get serious and start teaching myself how to fly this lovely plane. Regards and thanks, Jim zl2bmh.
