Just purchased 737 NGX for FSX and finding it another great PMDG product even though my hardware fairly modest. Wondered if anyone had views/experience of the stock soundsets against 3rd party add ons? Cheers, Nigel Thomas UK

I just read this in the Operating Manual Volume 1 under normal procedures: "Check the center tank fuel quantity. Both center tank fuel pump switches must be OFF for takeoff if center tank fuel is less than 5000 pounds/2300 kilograms." I've never done this, because I didn't realize you were supposed to. Whats the reason for this and did anyone else overlook this as I did? Would you taxi out with the center pumps on or would you turn them on after takeoff. Honestly I've never heard of this procedure in the real world either, but I assume they do it.

I have been using PMDG 737 NG with FS2004 and absolutely love it. Now I would like to upgrade to PMDG 737NGX with Windows 7 and FS X. I'm not a lover of 3D cockpits and like to fly 2D. From what I've seen of FSX, most 2D cockpit views have the view out front partly obscured and I get the feeling that I want to raise my seat a notch or two. Before I invest $1500 in a new PC and 737NGX I would like to know if the 2D panel in 737NGX has this problem? Is it possible to do approaches in 2D with unobscured views for VFR landing ? Thanks in advance for your replies.

How loud is it in the 737 cockpit? The reason i ask is because i am using these new turtle beach headphones and have no idea what to set the overall sound and bass to. Any ideas on how loud it is in the cockpit from flying to taxing is greatly appreciated. Corey

All the sudden I'm getting a traffic alert for an aircraft right under my nose but nothing is there. I've already set the filter for not showing all traffic in the setup within the CDU. So any suggestions on how to correct this would be appreciated. I'm using Ideal Flight also so not sure if that is the problem or not. CaptMac Don McDaniiel

Please see the attached picture of the cockpit issue I'm having - my PFD's do not work at all, and in fact seem like they are intended to be taken out of service, if you will.. It looks like the displays were removed by the ground crew! However, the PFD's will work if I click on their locations, and they bring up a separate window with the PFD in it - those show up without any problem.. I have done some checking around in the forums, and a few people have recommended going into the FMC and changing the equipment settings for the PMDG setup, but I have checked and unchecked all of the ones that are even remotely related to the PFDs, and nothing has helped. I also n…

Hey guys. I have just moved on from fs9 to FSX for about a week now and did 4-5 flights on NGX already. I really am in love with it. However I usually set autobrakes at 2 and after landing the brakes always go to disarm even though I didn't tap brakes at all. Been flying pmdg 737 and ifly 737 in fs9 for ages and never had any problem. I researched on forums also and I tried calibrating again and tried via FSUIPC also and even reset it but nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me? Would really appreciate your help. I am using Logitech G490 by the way. One weird thing is that even since before in fs9 when I start the sim I need to click calibrate within the si…

Hi Guys I love the NGX. Yesterday I was playing around with some graphics settings in FSX. I was just seeing if I could push the envelope a wee bit more. I didn't like what I got and so I reverted back to my old settings, which normally give me a pretty sweet looking bird anyways. Now however, its as if the antialiasing and anisotropic settings in FSX will not apply to the NGX. The NXG now looks like I'm running the settings in FSX on the basic setup. I dont think it is a problem with FSX as this issue does not appear with any other addon aircraft or sceneries. In fact I was toying around with the settings again today to try and determine if it was a FSX problem, an…

Hello, In the supplied FCOM, chapters PD/PI, weights are in LB. Whereas in QRH, chapter PI-QRH, they are in KG (but only for 737-800). Where can I find PD tables in KG? I have found some tables in KG for 737-800 on the Internet, but not for 737-700. Regards

I remember Thursday evening of August 4, 2011 getting ready for bed, and checking my computer one last time only to find out the NGX was ready! Some losers based overseas tried to ruin the party with a DoS attack, which was quickly countered. The NGX worked like a charm from the start, and needless to say, I showed up with little sleep, but lost of adrenaline to work the next day. CONGRATULATIONS PMDG TEAM! You have set a very high bar, and I can't wait for the 777, 747v2, and whatever comes after that.

Although I use the VC, I undock the PFD, ND, Eng DU and FMC onto another screen, as it's easier to glance down at the main displays than move the VC view on final approach. I know it is possible to undock the MCP, but there doesn't seem to be a way of undocking the EFIS controls (i.e. BARO, map controls etc) I'm guessing the answer is that it wasn't modelled to to that as PMDG focus on VC's, but since the MCP is undockable I thought it was worth asking the question...? Thanks :) R.

Hi I tried following tutorial #2 to the word and got some differences between those that described in the tutorial and what I got. I am using AIRAC 1207 and that might explain some differences (like having a new waypoint named PIGAB between ELMOX and DKB ) but does AIRAC explain new waypoints in the final approach to LOWI (OEV19 and OEN17 instead of OEV18 and OEV16 with new heights) ? After I entered all the waypoints and went into the first LEGS screen I see in the tutorial that I should have seen height restriction of 6000 ft at IVLUT but on my FMC I see no restriction. And finally and more important I see route discontinuity after RW26 which I cannot elimin…

Hi everyone, I have a 15,4" col notebook, which is not a powerhouse but with little exaggeration we can say it is fairly enough to run the NGX. The only problem I have is the resolution, 1366x768 is the res. of my laptop's display, which is unfortunately strongly under the minimum requirement of the resolution of the NGX. My question would be the following, is there any possibility to decrease somehow (or I don't know what the possible ways are) the size of the big res. textures in the virtual cockpit in order to get a correct view (otherwise I always have to zoom in a bit to get a nice look, to get detailed and more readable panels)? Thank you very much eve…

I'm flying the NGX since release, but since SPb nearly every flight I face difficulties following the planned route with CMD in LNAV-VNAV mode. First I thought its the sick S turns, but AS2012 and FSUIPC are set up mentioned so many times already, and still my 800 and even the 600 can't stay on route. They start turning , sometimes even the BANK ANGLE warning can be heard, lots ofl times I gave time to recover, but they just loose the route totally. Even switching to heading mode didnt help. Its like my Autopilot has gone crazy. I have to manually fly the bird back to ther right direction, but after couple NMs, it can happen again. I didnt see any specific reason, even a…

Hi all! I recently noticed a prompt after entering the IRS position on startup that says "set IRS heading" on the FMC. I've never noticed that before, does anybody know what it is and if has always been there or just appears at certain times. Is it the current heading that I have to imput? Cheers all, Matteo Capocefalo, MED1473

I fly a lot in and out of Canadian Airports, most of them are pretty small and have RNAV Approaches. When I look at the charts for these Approaches they say; "LNAV/VNAV: NOT AUTHORIZED" in the minumins section. So if I want the autopilot to fly this approach I can ONLY use LNAV + VS correct? The only time I can use VNAV/LNAV is if there are published Mins? Cheers

Hey all! Angle of Attack has completed it's GroundWork Training for the PMDG 737NGX. This training took us a good while to produce, but we ended up with 9 Hours and 27 Minutes of jam packed video training on the systems of this aircraft. It's been a huge pleasure to work with this fine simulation. It really didn't let us down when we got in there and put the systems through the ringer. It's now my duty to give you guys a trial opportunity for GroundWork. I'm finally done and ready to share! Watch the Video and Sign-Up Here Hope you all enjoy! Throttle On!
