I just bought and installed PMDG B737 NGX. I already have the B747 which I have no problem with. I read the tutorial #1 and followed the instructions to the letter many times doing the flight EGKK - EHAM. I also tried a flight using the same instruction CYYZ-CYOW. My FMC is programmed as per the tutorial and the screens of my FMC are exactly as per the tutorial. When I take off, the plane climbs to about 3500 ft slowing down dangerously close to stall and gain speed to about 190kts and stays there. What did I do or not done to cause that problem? Anyone can help please? I spent the last 2 days trying, searching and just cannot pin point the problem Marcel.

Hi folks, checking curiously on whether there is an undetected failure, I found really one: 'EMDP A HYD LEAK' on the hydraulics page, but so far no indication on the real displays, gauges etc. QTY% A is during my current flight (EHAM-KLM1673-LEBL) stable at 69%. Hmm, let's wait whether something happens. What is it? Am I able to detect it without peeping into the Failed Items page? If not, waiting is the best I can do.... 8^)

Hello Everyone, I dont use ATC in flying routes however today I opened FSX and selected PMDG737ngx house colours and after initialising an ATC small window with radio options appeared. I clicked it off and ended the flight. I restarted my PC and went through the same procedure as before using a different version of the 737 and the same thing happened. I went into the settings menus and the ATC section was inactive. Is there a section in the FSX.cfg which I can delete to stop this occurring. Many thanks for any replies. Richard Welsh.

I went into the FMS to choose the panel state cold and dark which shuts everything off. I go through the checklists. APU has power etc but then my engines are always started and I haven't started them. My fuel lever is in cutoff. As well as my indicator lights show the engine valve is closed so there has to be an error somewhere. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone When performing an ils, one gets the descision heights off the airport charts. the number is usually bold (for eg ils 26L EGKK is 400) followed by a number in brackets (200). i have worked this out to be the descision height in MSL (bold) and AGL (in brackets) - but which number do i enter onto the BARO settings on the instrument panel? Thanks Rory

I am almost finished building/coding my very first RNP approach, but I need someone's technical advice to be able to complete it. THE PROBLEM I can get my aircraft to fly the designated descent path in LNAV/VNAV, UNTIL I reach 250 ft, which is about the altitude where the RNWXX waypoint kicks in. The problem is, after passing 250 ft, the aircraft stops flying the required rate of descent (ROD) to the runway. I.e. it flies at a descent rate of around 800 ft/pm UNTIL it passes 250 ft/RNWXX waypoint becomes active, at which time, the descent rate changes to, say, around 500 ft/pm. As you can imagine, as I get closer to the runway, I am too high to be able to safely …

Hi, Just wanted to share some info. I recently flew a few short real life flights (passenger) with Scandinavian. ENGM-ENBR and ENGM-ENVA. I noticed a marked difference in flight behaviour during takeoff, with acceleration at 1500, not decel. Also very high power in TO (maybe) and CLB (for sure). I decided to ask a pilot, and it turns out fuel is now so expensive that the first priority is to get high up FAST. This will potentially add engine maintenance cost, but it is still judged to be a smaller expence than the fuel. I did not get to ask particulary about derate, but I am quite sure there is no derate at CLB. Maybe TO-1. The cost index for Scandinavian 737 is …

Manufacture 737s with different cockpit colors? It seems as though you can never find two cockpits that look alike in terms of color, vibrance, contrast etc. If this is the case, will it ever be on The team's agenda for creating a tool that will allow users to select a cockpit based on their likings, or based on the configuration of the airline? It's not a crucial part of the sim, but just something I think would be a nice addition. also, I realized that sometime between alpha and release, the cockpit went through a tonne of texture swaps, was this in attempts of matching the real cockpit, or was it something else?

Hi, I built my own 737 home cockpit. I am presently using the default 737 airplane. I would like to switch to PMDG NGX. I would like to know if the PFD and ND can be popped up and dragged to a separate monitor that I have on my home cockpit set up? I would also like to know if you can zoom in, and zoom out (to see more or less of the gauges). The FSX default 737 allows me to do both of these. Thanks in adavance Rob

Hi all! My first post I was fooling around with the 737 NGX, and came across a problem when trying to program the FMC as I planned to land at an airport that didn't have an ICAO code. In FS Commander it is designated as W99, but I'm not able to put this in as my dest. in the FMC. The FMC manual states that you should the able to input a temporary dest. for just such cases by inputing it's location etc. in the REF NAV DATA page. However, I have not been able to. Is it at all possible?

I've noticed a strange behavior of the 737NGX. While I'm preparing the flight (over the time) the plane (with parking brakes applied) slides forward a few meters. In other words, when I start the flight, I can see (spot view) the 737NGX is exactly in the assigned parking place. Ten / fifteen minutes later, it is some meters forward. Sure to have parking brakes applied. Andrea

Ok Guys: Would like some input as to why I can not import an rte file into ngx anymore, from what I read at EFB forums pmdg has asked them to stop allowing this after paying a lot of money it is now useless, is there another way of doing this, I want to import a pln file into a program and save it out as a rte file and get it to load into ngx fmc, you may ask why are you importing a pln file into EFB because I like the program Ideal Flight it does a great job of setting up a nice flight plan but need the rte file to load into the ngx, any help would be much appreciated. When I load the rte file saved out of EFB all sids and stars are missing.

Hej everyone, I'm a newbie to c++. Using VS2010. I used de PMDG 737NGX SDK. I managed to manipulate all data the way I want it. So all the connections are good. The only problem I have is the following. How can I use the data in a form. I tried all kinds of ways. The last thing I did was using FlTK. Also looked everywhere on the internet. But I think I got a huge void in my skills. So if you can help me to read one variable to a form using the the PMDG 737NGX SDK I would be very happy. AdjeT

I'm trying to enter MZB293R into the FMS. How can I do this? In the Ops1 manual it says" Enter identifier of the reference waypoint (normally an off–route waypoint) onto the FIX line. Enter the desired radial or distance from the FIX on a RAD/DIS line, or line select the ABM prompt if the desired radial or distance from the FIX is perpendicular to the present route/course." I'm having trouble with this. Can someone point me to the spot in the manual so I can enter this?

Hello, I’m sorry if this has been covered before; I did search and I did find some similar posts, but nothing that addressed my question. I recently switched from flying the 737 with the 2D layout to using the VC. I was very hesitant to abandon the 2D view due to my laptop’s performance but I adjusted the FSX setting, settled for a bit less eye candy and now I’m sold on flying in VC mode. I’ve read the numerous posts on this site about the 2D vs. VC debate and while I understand both perspectives, flying VC give FSX a far more realistic feel. My landings were almost always right on the centre line and in the touchdown zone when flying in 2D. But since I swit…
