I was watching the Air Canada A319 ETOPS video earlier, and at one point the check pilot stated that in Europe aircraft have to have VHF radios with 3 decimal places, unlike in North America, where airlines usually operate with 2 decimal place VHF's. The NGX has a standard 2 decimal place VHF radios, but is there an option to switch them for 3 decimal place VHF's, like how you can switch the PFD and ND to the classic six pack? And if not, could it be a possible implementation for SP2?

Hello, After many tests to understand my issue with the PMDG 737NGX, it is time to open up the topic to get your feedback. Since I have installed my rig with W7 Pro 64Bits + FSX, I have noticed that my 737-800/900 + 600/700 expansion pack adopts excessive bank angle around the LNAV path (or even on HDG Bug mode), up to 60°. It oscillates around the LNAV path. Not only it is unrealistic but it creates a dramatic effect. I didn't have this under Windows XP. My tests reveal that it happens mainly when winds are greater that (around) 35 kt. I made an attempt clearing the weather and thus the upper winds and the effect disappear. I also tried smoothing the wind t…

I am having on-going problems with CG settings. Today for instance, I loaded up an addon plane: load was 76% (Fuel was 50% Passengers full.Hold 75%) This should have been fine to fly as the ZF weight was 59 (max listed as 62). The FMC showed the CG as minus 24.6% so I could not set the rest of the FMC as it kept giving "invalid input". If I input a positive reading manually, I can set the FMC and take off. This also happens on the PMDG planes. It is an intermittant thing, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Any ideas on how to fix this: it is getting a real pain. Ian Harrison

Hi all, here's a strange one I first realized while climbing out of Innsbruck the other night, and again today out of Vienna: While hand-flying with only the FDs engaged in LNAV and VNAV, after selecting Flaps up, the FD would still command a pitch for 208 kts. The CLB page shows a speed restriction 208/FLAPS. Flaps are definitely up, with no failures or whatsoever. After engaging Autopilot A, the restriction changed to 250/FL100. It is my understanding that in clean configuration the commanded speed should be the target speed, unless a restriction, say for a certain waypoint or below FL100 is valid at that position. Never before have I encountered such a …

Colleagues, Did a search and couldn't find anything on this: Is there anyway to apply a less than full amount of wheel brakes as for example in a taxi line to the departure end of the runway where you slow but don't always have to stop? I know this will run the temp up if I ride them but I'd like to avoid the deck angle pitch-downs that I get with the all-or-nothing brake applications. Thanks in advance. Joe

Hello all, i know assigning control axes in FSUIPC is a big no-no in the NGX but what about joystick buttons? Will they cause the same problems with flaps and throttles? Thanks! Kevin

Hi, Until today I have been using iFLY + IOCARDS + SIOC. It works quite well. I have made the SIOC script myself, and would like to edit it to work with PMDG instead. Can someone give me a link to a thread or website about how to interface (offsets to all PMDG switches, leds and so on) to PMDG via SIOC? Maybe I also need some interface program, except the obvious FSUIPC and SIOC. BR, Magnus

Hi In the 737NGX, when I approach the V speeds, V1, Vr, V2, I'm hearing the speeds being called out from two sources. For example, when I reach V1, I hear V1 two times , as though two pilots were calling out the V speeds at about the same time. They're about a half a second apart. Appearently, one of the pilot voices must be coming from the simulator and the other voice is coming from the NGX. I unchecked "Us a Pilot Voice" in the box that says Air Traffic Control in the General Settings but I'm still getting two pilot voices. Is there something I'm overlooking? Ken.

Hello gents So I stumbled upon this thread: http://forum.avsim.n...round-friction/ Someone in it created modification values for the sim1.dll for the ground friction http://forum.avsim.n...n/#entry2534947 What are your thoughts on this 'find' and how reallistic do you think the NGX currently handles the ground friction problems of fsx Here is my post on my experience using the tweak in FSX accelleration with the NGX here is the DL for accel http://forum.avsim.n...25#entry2536372 You MUST download the file for your version (SP1/2/accel) Would be ncie to find the NGX value for this, Pete dowson will include it in fsuipc soon

Could the devs please explain to me how the components in this aircraft accumulate time? In the A2A B17, you start your flight and when you shutdown the times are added to the motors and the rest of the components. I have a sneaky suspicion this is not quite the case with the NGX and I seem to remember that there is a panel save step involved as well. Since the FS2CREW QRH module release are imminent I want to make sure I fly the NGX and building time on the components correctly! FRED

Hey guys, Some time ago my FSX didn't work, I reinstalled it and everything worked again. My PMDG 737NGX too, but only one little problem remained. Here's a link of the problem, by watching this the problem will be clear, i think: http://i46.tinypic.com/cnihe.png A result of this, is that this doesn't work anymore too: http://i50.tinypic.com/2zs73bp.png So the screens don't show the altitude and the direction anymore. Does anyone know how to solve it? Or do I have to reinstall PMDG? Thank you.

I was enjoying the 737-800ng for about three weeks. Then I started getting "Page_Fault_in_nonpaged_area" memory dump "Blue Screens". Got the usual "It can't be a software issue, it has to be a desktop issue" stance from PMDG "technical" support. I'm not having any problems with the Wilco/Feelthere, or LDS-767 models. I've done several uninstall/reinstalls. when I select any PMDG model I get promped that "Microsoft could not verify the publisher for "PMDG_737ngx_3.dll" (This is the TCAS Logic Guage) In other words the .dll file is not digitally signed then I get bluescreened. I'm just wondering why PMDG didn't digitally sign their .dll files knowing that Windows 7 64 bi…

I need some help with the fuzzy lines in my VC. I have the 'High Resolution 3D Cockpit' selected, and my display screens in the VC are fuzzy, mainly the font. I've attached screenshot of my VC as well as my ATI CCC settings. Additonally, I do have Bojote's shader mod installed. Any idea on how to fix this without having to upgrade my video card (HIS Radeon HD 4670)?

Hi, I have the 737NGX and I'm getting tones fron the NAV radio from two different sources. The standard PMDG is on the radio stack below the mic selector switches- those light up and it's easy to tell what's going on there. But there is another -annoyingly loud- tone coming from an unknown source. I notice it is of a somewhat higher pitch than the pmdg one. I have FSX with FSINN, my WX is ASX, I do have other add-on aircraft installed but obviously not running. I messed with both FSX and FSINN settings and doesn't make a difference. It stops just like the PMDG one when you "detune" the radio. Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to track this down? Thanks in advance…

I flew to Manchester this evening and coming from the south I decided to use the DAYN2A STAR. I noticed that when I selected the MCT transition for runway 05 (which wasn't the one I had to land on) I got exactly this on the ND: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-E5FD8FA8E14BE4AED936908E8F86DC7B/7FE5QZZF3FXUS/EN/Charts/AD/NON_AIRAC/EG_AD_2_EGCC_8-2_en_2012-06-28.pdf The FMC programmed the flight straight to MTC and then left to follow the sort of teardrop approach. Nice. However, I had to land on runway 23R though and so I had to follow this procedure: http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/pamslight-E5FD8FA8E14BE4AED936908E8F86DC7B/7FE5QZZF…

I have had to restart my flight 4 times and lost almost 2 hours of work because of this. I have had the plane for almost a month and it has been working fine. I didn't change anything in my computer or installed/uninstalled hardware. These past 2-3 days, the engine sounds stop working in the middle of the flight for no reason. I can hear other sounds fine, control switches, clicks, packs, APU, flaps, F/O callouts, etc, just not engine sounds. Every time this happens I have to restart my flight. Other PMDG planes like MD-11, 747 Queen of the Skies work fine, it's just 737NGX. And no, I haven't tried uninstalling/reinstalling anything and I'd rather not as that is not a…

I recently bought an SSD to replace my system drive and a separate hard drive for FSX and have reinstalled everything. I had set up for a flight from KBFI with the NGX and opened FSUIPC to set up my controllers again. The problem occurs when I exit from FSUIPC. The BFI scenery goes away and I'm left with what looks like a desert. This is sometimes followed by the screen starting to flash and no way to exit the program. The problem can be reproduced most of the time. I've reinstalled both FSX and the NGX and FSUIPC a couple of times without any luck. Could there be something going on with the Video card or driver? Any ideas would be appreciated. Don't think it …

Hello everyone, I just started to use PMDG 737 NGX to put my flights to a higher and more realistic level. I completed the Tutorial 1 Flight three times now without any problems. There is only one technical issue regarding the FMC: I tried to save the panel state several times. It always says: Successfully Saved. But when I move to the Load State Menu there are only the Standard Panel States from PMDG. When I look into the appropriate Folder in the FSX dir, there are also only the Standard Panel States. So that means that my panel states are not saved at all. I think I did one mistake during the install of FSX: I installed it to the standard dir i…

Hi all, just a quick question for the RW pilots out there: When hand-flying our beloved NG, are you supposed to work the rudder pedals or let the yaw damper handle it all? I wasn't able to find the answer in the manuals, but maybe I'm just being blind... Thanks! Oli

Hi, I've been playing around with SE Flap 15 landings and I've noticed that the GPWS doesn't give a 'TOO LOW FLAPS' warning even if we don't inhibit the GPWS flap warning. Should we not get that warning with less than flap 30 or 40 selected? Now OK, the training manual says that flaps 15, 30 and 40 are 'normal' settings for landing. But the QRH tells you to move the flap inhibit switch to inhibit when doing a flaps 15 landing. Why does the QRH have this action if a flaps 15 landing doesn't generate the aural warning normally? A possible minor bug? Flaps 1,2,5 and 10 all generate the warning.... Really looking forward to the FS2Crew Emergency NGX now... Ad…
