PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

  1. Started by SPD-BRK,

I realise that the 737-800, especially at high landing weights is a somewhat slippery machine, but at lower altitudes with TAI on, I'm getting a ridiculously poor rate of descent. On my last flight, I was trying to descend to platform altitude using FLCH. Passing 4000 feet, with flaps up, TAI on doing 220KIAS, I was getting 300fpm! The aircraft was not desceleratig and N1 was approximately 37%. 300fpm does not comply with the minimum rate of descent in the UK and just doesn't seem normal. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has this problem. Many thanks, Martin Neep.

  2. After days and many hours spend (reading these and other forums for solutions) I came to the conclusion that the PMDG 737 NGX and Logitech force 3D are enemies... 8 out of 10 times that I dare touch the joystick, while the plane is flying via FMC/Autopilot the Autopilot gets disengaged. To fly a successful flight plan I must do all the controlling via the keyboard or mouse. Are any other guys here that have this problem? and I did the Tutorial 1 and the same thing happens. stelios

Hi, the NGX exteriour is excellent, however somehow the landing lights of the ngx look a bit weird, check this photo: http://jetphotos.net...544924&nseq=303 the ngx landing lights lamp have a plain white as texture, also the glass that protects the lights is sort of blue-ish, while the ngx has a totally transparent texture which makes it look like the glass is missing? do the landing lights and the glass have a texture, if yes how can I modify it (which texture contains these parts)? greets, Johnny

Hello, Something strange has happened with my NGX livery manager. Whenever I try to open it, and I don't run it as administrator, I get a message saying: This version of the file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or an x64 (64-bit) version of the program Strange enough, I'm running a 64 bit. If I run it as an administrator, it simply says that "Windows Cannot Locate the File", even though the .exe is right there. I am aware I might have to re-install the NGX, but it is quite a pain, (and another $5) Just wanted to make sure nobody else ha…

Hi There, I've been using the 737ngx for about two weeks and LOVE IT. But the FMC seems really hit and miss. I've got enroute charts and up to date NAVDATA off navigraph, and try to use them (with routefinder and nDAC) as much as possible, but I keep running into brick walls trying to use actual real-world routes! Problem #1: I enter all the information on the pages exactly in the order described in tutorial #1, only using different waypoints. The route has no discontinuities, no DIRECT portions, it's all using valid airways. All pages have the right information, as per the tutorial (octuple checked!), but the LEGS page will not calculate Height/Speed values.…

Hi, I don´t fly much on the 737-900, but i fly a lot on the 738, and today i decided to fly the 900, and when i was entering the payload i noticed the MTW was 79.2 and the engine rating was 26k, i mean , i think it´s the same as the 800, and i was wondering if the 800 and 900 have different MTW´s and engine ratings. And the MTW on my 900 is correct(79.2 )? And also the engine rating of 26K Hamilton

  9. Hello, I recently finished my dream project (www.737NGcockpit.com), please note that web site is not updated with most recent progress, but will soon. Everything is working great. BUT I have a few issues that need to be fixed: Before I start withe the issues, I mention an important point: I have both PMDG 737 NGX and Prosim 737. Everything works flawless with Prosim. But Since I do not have an overhead panel yet, I want to enjoy my cockpit with the NGX plane, their airfile, and panel, and outside views, lights, liveries (get the point? I love the NGX!) 1. Flight Illussion Gauges: They look great, but with absolutely no functionality. I tried Callibrating t…

Fellow Pilots, Does anyone know or have a very realistic VC view set up for the NXG? What I am trying to achieve is what they see in real life as much as possible. When you look at the cockpit panel all the instruments lean towards the pilot at an angle, the only way I can get a sort of view like this is to put my eye point through the roof and look down... I do use the Opus camera system which works fine but this seems to be a FSX hard setting and just wondered if anyone knows. Many Thanks Mark

If I built a flight plan with FSBUID 2.4. including the TOC/TOP in the Build Options, will it create a plan that will automatically descent to capture the ILS at the arrival airport? stelios

Hello everybody! Well here is my first post, and its a question, but i'll be posting some feature to help you with mading a full cockpit simulator, thats what i have. Well getting into the problem that i have, its happening that the elevator trim is having an strange behaviour, if you have the yoke in neutral position and you try to trim up it doesnt work, but when you try to trim down it works. If you move the yoke doing a pitch down movement (forward) you can also trim up. i was looking in the older posts and i found this http://forum.avsim.net/topic/344544-yoke-trim-problem/ and i said omg so this is going to be easy peasy and problem solved, bu…

I installed FSX Deluxe edition on my Windows 7 computer and purchased the PMDG-737. Now I am about to study the B-737 introduction tutorial. This tutorial suggests to make the following changes in the FSX.CFG file: a) In Graphics: HIMEMFIX=1 B) Texture_Max_Load = 4096 The problem is that the FSX.CFG shows no Graphic Section where I could check if the two entries are entered. Therefore I wonder where to find the proper FSX.CFG file ? As suggested by the tutorial I installed FSX on the c drive and not in the default . I appreciate your help Hubert Werni

In the Tutorial 1 it says the following: After passing the Detling VOR (DET), you’re going to see VNAV ALT annunciated in the FMA pitch mode box along with an FMC message that says RESET MCP ALTITUDE.. During the Tutorial I could not see the "RESET MCP ALTITUDE" Where is the message displayed? stelios

Almost perfect as the NGX sits at the Top of Descent, as the sun sets, overlooking the river and the ocean, on its way to SAEZ. I love those sunset deep blues.

I've been looking for a decent 737 check-list for sometime, but couldn't find anything that resembles the layout of those used on the line. I wanted something neat, in the two column format, so I decided to create my own. Am allowed to share it? It's my own creation, but I've used actual challenge and response items from various online documents and airline videos that I have. It's a mash-up between Ryanair, Go and Inter European. Obviously I don't want to infringe on any kind of copyright! Kind Regards, Martin Neep

Hello: I just purchased a new system and am doing a fresh install of FSX. My system is Windows 7 which I am new to, but learning. I have installed NGX and all works fine. Then I tried to install some addon liveries. The manager ran fine, but when I go into FSX the liveries arent there. I looked in the NGX aircraft files and the livery textures are there and the aircraft.cfg files have been updated correctly. I am running FSX as an administrator too. Any thoughts? Thanks, Dave

Hello my name is Harry Grant I have been away from the Flight Simulator Community for some time now, but have recently purchased the PMDG 737NGX, I have a question about the Flightplan database that used to come with PMDG products, (I only remember this from owning the 747 Queen of the skies for FS9) there used to be a lot of flightplan files, but I don't see anything but one flightplan file with the 737, my question is where can I get flightplan files for my 737 fleet? Or do I have to create and Save them through the FMC in my 737 NGX?

  24. Hi, I have an issue with my NGX. My acceleration height is set to 800 feet AGL (Standard setting in the TUIFLY livery) but when I take off and reach 800 ft AGL the speed bug continues to display V2+20. I am operating no differently than normal, and my last NGX flight (EHAM-LOWI, same livery) went fine. I have tried to take off from LOWI 3 times, each time with the same result. If I retract my flaps anyway, it keeps the 737 at 215 kias. (Please click to enlarge) As you can see, the FMC says that it is anticipating acceleration height (215/FLAP for speed restriction) Can anyone enlighten me on what I might have done wrong? Thanks

  25. I just wondered if anyone is able to use the menus in fsx and return to a flight without any corrupted graphics or crashes. This happens to me intermittantly after saving or planning a route. I would like to think there was someone out there who has never had this occur and could share their system details. At the moment Ryan is helping me find a solution but trying to rule things out when dealing with intermittant faults is tricky Colin
