Hi all. I see that quite a few of you have aquired the OC CDU v3 and have it up and running. Prior to buying the OC CDU, I was flying successfully with the OC EFIS and MCP but having to use the mouse for the CDU. Now, I have downloaded Roark's software for the combined CDU,EFIS and MCP. The CDU works fine and I am amazed how good it is but, the EFIS now wont work at all and the MCP has only some digits illuminating and the twisting of knobs and pushing of buttons seem to activate different buttons and knobs within the NGX. In sioc monitor, the buttons and knobs seem to be ok. Has anyone else had similar issues and can anyone shed some light on how to resolve this ma…

I have just installed 737 NGX on Windows7, after using the program without problems on my previous OS (Vista). After startup I am getting a very fuzzy or blurred image of the main panel and and MCP as well as cockpit layout, in VC mode. All knobs and indication are unreadable, so I can't use the program. All instrument readings are - on the other hand - very clear. I have tried to repair, uninstall and re-install the program, and also installed DirectX-9 , all without success. Other aircraft e.g. PMDG MD-11 are working fine. When I use the 2D cockpit. the view is tilted far forward(down), so here is another abnormality. Can anybody help please?????

Is completely messed up when selecting LNAV+VNAV... Does anyone else have this? The DP calls for a left turn heading 240 to intercept the 196 radial off EHF... the NGX wants to make a loop d doop right turn the long way around to the west. My navdata is about one cycle out of date now...

Hi: I have just installed NGX on a new system and flew my first flight. I flew with VAFS5 which shuts down my engines. I am used to going through this procedure on my old system, and all I have had to do is Program the FMC, and start the engines following the normal procedures. However, last night i did just this, took off, and when I tried to engage the AP, it wouldn't engage. I thought this was odd and i started looking around the cockpit and found the FO's EFIS and MCU were on but were not displaying information. (i.e.- As if they were not aligned) What did I forget to do? Is there a realism setting I can change so I don't have to bother with the FO's inst…

Hey guys, I've run into an issue with the installation of the NGX. I installed it successfully previously however since I re-installed FSX I have run into this message: I've uninstalled it from my FSX directory, the plane including all the other associated files but the message still remains once I try to install the NGX. Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hello captains, Im having a series of issues with the NGX and need some serious help. My 737 was previously working perfectly but another issue caused me to repair windows and also caused me to uninstall FSX and the NGX. So after reinstalling FSX Deluxe from the dvd's, installing the two service packs followed by the SDK service packs and rebooting between each, I install the 737, reboot, and attempt to load the 737. The ngx, however, brings fsx to its knees and slows the sim down to the point where it locks up and freezes. (I have to CTRL+ALT+Delete to load the various FSX menus and after pressing the "Fly NOW" button the sim does not load up at all. In addition …

I have thought about getting the NGX for a loooong time. Thing is, I'm not much on lengthy checklists nor pushbutton flying. On the other hand, I really have no idea if that's what it's about at all. So, can someone enlighten me what flying the NGX is like and what it's about? Gregg

Hello all, after some time flying the NGX I have decided to make a 'Private Jet' livery for the -800WL model. as a new 'painter' I had some solved difficulties but there is one more that I couldn't solve even after searching Google and in this forum. the problem is missing night textures - the tail and the wings ones. I have found some answers for that problem, but maybe my lack of experience with liveries is my set back, It will be nice if some one will explain for me how to solve this issue. Thanks.

I had to re-install the 737NGX. No problem installing etc., but one thing is kind of standing out. When in the 2D cockpit, the forward view seems to be aiming down, not showing the horizon. I seem to remember that there was some fix or comment about this during the early days of release, but I can't seem to find any mention of this in the forum. Hopefully, someone out there will have had the problem and was able to correct the view. If so, could you please pass the solution. I'd be most appreciative. Jack Fentress

Hello folks, I've assigned my x52Pro for three assignments in FSUIPC for the Throttles - Idle / Max / Reverse and it's working fine. I've noticed, BEFORE I made the assignments, and when flying using AP & AutoThrottle, you could move the throttle lever on the Saitek Yoke and it would not affect Auto Throttle and speed assignment...which "me thinks" is normal since the AP and AutoThrottle have control. With the new assignment in FSUIPC, and flying in mode as above, if I move the Saitek throttle, it moves the throttles in the cockpit, thus changing speed, then the plane will revert back to the Auto throttle speed as assigned......I don't think this is correct? A…

I made a flight from Hong Kong VHHH to Cairns YBCS and ran into an issue where I accidentally got into Descent mode and couldn't get back to Cruise mode. I had made a Step climb from FL350 to FL370 but wanted to descend back to 350 because of unexpectedly large headwinds at 370. I don't remember the exact sequence but I think I set the MCP to 350 and then selected LVL CHG (I don't remember if I set the CRZ ALT on the CDU to 350). Anyway, it went into descent mode and show a very gradual descent for the next 2000 nm. At that point I couldn't get it back to CRZ. Entering 350 in the ECON CRZ window had no affect. I ended up changing the last waypoint preceeding where …

I have generated so far 2-3 flight plans with FSBuild (including SID/STAR as well as TOC/TOD) and import them into FMC of the 737NGX. Everything goes OK but when I arrive at the destination airport it never takes me to intercept the ILS of the generated runway. Am I doing something wrong? I was under the impression that FSBulid will take m to the generated runway. and just another point in the Legs section, when the waypoint turns pink (magenta) do I adjust then the altitude shown on the right? stelios

I'm stuck in San Antonio for another day as our meetings were supposed to last through tomorrow morning. Don't want to bother listing earlier, so I have extra time. As we're discussing playbook routes, and I just wrote a tutorial on their use (in the same forum location as the one in my link), I was thinking of making some playbook routes for ya'll to use with the NGX, as they'd be stored in the aircraft DB in real life as well. My only issue is that I don't have an example .RTE file. If one of you doesn't mind, send me a PM if you have one and I'll send you my email address to get the file. From there, I can at least get started to kill some time. When I'm do…

Hey, just found, that the speedbrake lever is pulled beyond the flight detend position by pressing # key. The correct position of the flight detend is, when the black arrow of the speedbrake lever matches with the white flight detend marking. A bit of a puzzler this one. I took part in the excellent Innsbruck Fly-in hosted by Austrian vACC on Sunday, and as expected was placed into a hold over ELMEM at FL160. I was then directed to the RTT NDB for a further hold before commencing the approach. I pressed the EXIT NOW to leave ELMEM, on a direct track to RTT. Enroute to RTT, I pressed the HOLD button to set up the hold as required; however the active waypoint had changed to (INTC) and the hold page showed ACT HOLD RTTNB so I assumed that the aircraft would enter the hold as required. Wrong. The ACT HOLD was actually the missed approach part - even though I hadn't even commenced the approach, and despite trying t…

A while back some guys did some work on creating the data to allow us to do the RNP approaches into NZQN - quite a task as the NGX at the moment isnt fully capable of flying many RNP procudres, but also as these particular plates are not completly publicly published as they are only allowed to be flown by certain operators. I have this data, but its now completley out of date as NZQN have radically changed all of there procedures, including SIDS and STARS, and introduced new GNSS approaches into NZQN. Although they still appear in the AIP at present - these NOTAMS B5780/12 NOTAMN Q) NZZC/QPIAW/I/NBO/A/000/999/4501S16844E005 A) NZQN B) 1302061100 C) PERM …

Hello, Looking for a little guidance here. I run a i5 overclocked to 4ghz with 8Gig 1600 ram and windows 7 home 64 bit. This is the 3rd time now where I have been proposing to fly the NGX and am going thru the preliminary cold startup routine. I have the FMC open in its popup mini window (Full screen 1920x1080). I input the start airport and am going thru the initial info before planning the route - when ban - quit to desktop. Now I am not a novice in this field so would request a pointer as to where I can start troubleshooting please. Looking through the event viewer I found this error that corresponds to my last sudden exit from FSX Faulting module path: …
