PMDG 737NGX | 737NGXu

To all, especially to those still in debate about the VC... I've been flying the NG in FS9 from just about the day it was released, but from the week for sure. I've spent thousands of hours learning the 'glass cockpit' and then flying for various virtual airlines and for fun as well. It was much easier for me to do all flying using the 2D cockpit since I was using a rather small monitor at that time plus it was fairly easy to just flip and switch on pop-up panels as - let's be honest - the whole sim comes in 2D when you're only looking at a flat monitor in your room. Hello all, I've posted this question somewhere else in the forum but just realized there was a section specific for 737 NGX. Here's my issue: I just purchased the online version of the ngx 737 base package from PMDG yesterday along with the FS2CREW bundle. I managed to install everything correctly and thought nothing more of it. THen...the issue hit me. I launch FSX and pick one of my (4) 737's that came with the package. I pick anyone and try to load up the aircraft in FSX. Then, a stupid window appears telling me I need to activate the product online. Hi guys I've been watching a few episodes of Air Crash Confidental, a TV show that looks at the reasons behind air crashes. It seems that a modern day airliner can't take off with no flaps or slats selected as you wouldn't be able to gain enough lift on the wings and flight would be unstable resulting in a crash. I tried this on the NGX but found I could Take Off and climb out with zero flaps without any problems. Is this correct behaviour of a 737NG? Tony

Hello all, I must have missed something somewhere: I can't select the flight "PMDG737NGX Tutorial #2 EHAM-LOWI" as in FSX this flight does not show-up when clicking "free filght" and then "Load". -Is-it a pb for the rest of the tutorial #2 ? - should I just place my 737 in EHAM starting with a completly dark cockpit ? I just bought this wonderful 737NGX with SP1 already included. Many thanks Michel

How does saving with the NGX go when you reload it? Does it reload in the exact panel state after the 20s of hand flying I guess?<br /><br />An I right that there is a programme that can save at different time intervals? To save me some annoyance when my machine throws a wobbly?<br /><br />Thanks

I've been searching these forums as well as the manuals, but have not quite found the answer: I've set the failures like this: Random Failures=yes -Events pr 10 hours=3 -Limitied Events=yes -Event Limit=1 Service Based Failures=yes I've set this up on the 73G SAS livery, and I've flown that aircraft well over 10 hours, but have not experienced any failure yet? I'm using Emergency NGX as well - what am I doing wrong? Mas

Hi guys, 1) IS service based failures linked to a livery or the aircraft type? I would love to see usage across my fleet, instead of individually 2) Apart from the more obvious things [engine failure for example] a lot of failures I find are hard to determine as their is no eicas messages. Without going into the pmdg > failures in the FMC is there other indicators to failures in non-vital areas of the 737? With regards, Alex

If I have service based failures enabled and do not have the default panel state as "previous flt" but instead for example cold and dark, does it "reset" the failure probability counter (i dont know what to call it..) so that it equals a situation where I am handed aaircraft that has been just serviced? I cant have the "previous flt" enabled as I am using fs2crew voice ed and they do not recommend it...:-( Thanks! Kaj Ekström

Does anyone have any suggestions how I could have the parking brakes "disconnected" from my normal toe brakes (I am using ch pro pedals) as they are pretty sensitive and make the parking brakes pop off all the time? Thats pretty annoying. Otherwise my brakes work ok, no problems with rto or autobrakes etc.. Kaj Ekström

Hello, after reading a thread about cost index and some thinking... there is a LRC Cruise setting within the FMC. But what is the main reason for this? I mean... you can enter a pretty low CI and the airplane will cruise more economical (with greater range) than with LRC setting. So when it is used and why?

Hi, Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong, on the FMC route page, already put in departure runway from EGNT on departure page, trying to put in a fictional route to EGKK DCT RAPUM, UP16 to CROFT, UN615 to HON etc. if I put RAPUM on the right side, next line on left side UP16 (which should be the airway) it will not let me put Croft on the right hand side just throws up a Discontinuity which I can’t erase I thought (probably wrongly) the left side was VIA and the right side was TO, unless I have the airway name wrong :( Many thanks Steve

Hi all: What I have is, I load up My Westjet livery of 737NGX at a gate at KLAS . I start with a cold dark cockpit. I am running FS2CREW for the NGX. Everything does fine till it's time to taxi. I aplly a little throttle to get moving, but when I go to brake for any reason, OH OH NO BRAKES. Not even parking brakes. I actually have to throw thrusters into reverse to stop. Now, if I load any of the other liveries , and start, lets say at an active runway or anywhere else, the brakes work just fine. Is there a random failure that happens from time to time, created by the simulator? If so, how do you apply repairs? Thanks for help. S. Sumner

I have been trying to relate the LEGS data displayed on the CDU to the various SID, STAR and ILS charts with (in the main) a fair degree of success. However I have been unable to locate a number of FMS LEG names (not sure of the right term here?) on the associated flight chart. In some cases I can fairly confidently guess the location on the chart but cannot work out how the LEG name is constructed. For example: Between DET and DAGGA there is a LEG called D015E that relates to a point on the associated SID chart called "D5 DET" (at 6000 feet). Why is the LEG called D015E on the FMC? Could it mean "Distance 15 nautical miles East of DET"? My main question is: Whi…

Hey, So I have had the 737NGX for a while and it has been working perfectly. Today though I flew KPHL-KORD in it and something very wierd happened with the fuel Loading. I set up the aircraft same as I always do, programmed the FMC and loaded the fuel. I loaded about 15,000 pounds according to the FMC and FSX and FSC. Plenty of fuel to reach ohare. I flew the departure as usual, used VNAV, LNAV and the A/P same as always. Everything was normal. I then left for a quick 5 minute break, and when I came back there was 0lbs of fuel onboard and the engines were at idle. I have no idea why this happened. How is it possible to setup a passenger wing view form the interior of the virtual cabin out through one of the windows? Has anyone explored this yet? In FS9 it was a cinch. Stephen

I am currently touring South America with my wonderful NGX 737. However, I encountered an odd problem when I landed at La Paz, Bolivia, which is at 13,300 feet. The FMC would not let me open the doors as I usually do upon parking for the AES services. Any suggestions? Is there a setting somewhere I missed? I have been looking through the manuals but have not come across a solution yet. If anyone has a suggestion I'd be very appreciative. Lee

Hello everybody , I bought the 737 - 800 / 900 ngx addon and its the greatest flightsim experience i had so far.But lately i,m having loads of problems with this software . In the beggining there were no problems exepect maybe the occasional FSX problem here and there. But lately i,m getting extremly frustrated . here are the problems i keep getting.When accerating time (max 8 x) the screen suddenly goes black but the progrem seems fine in task manager, no sound no menu, just a black screen but my pc is still working and the programs seems to be running normaly. Hi Win 7 64. FSUIPC paid. I haven't always had this issue. After putting in my flight plan, setting up the aircraft in the FMC, the ATA times on the Prog page, the T/C then T/D times, just go completely crazy. Changing rapidly all the time. Sometimes this just stops after passing one or two waypoints. Sometimes it lasts the whole flight. It doesn't actually prevent me from completing a flight, but is just highly irritating. I'm sure I must be missing something basic and, yes, I did a search, but didn't quite know what to search for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was using Active sky 2012 textures but forgot to exclude lights and landing light textures. So after installing them, the NGX now has that dull triangle of a spotlight instead of the ones that actually illuminate the ground the NGX came with. I was wondering is it possible to get them back without going through a series of re-installs?
