I am not a full scale pilot by any sort, I just love FSX and DX10 and by all means all of the PMDG planes. I am in a debate with one person and and flyiing with the FMC I have been told the correct way to fly useing the FMC is to fly manually useing the course bug to say fly to 10,000 before AP is engaged When I takeoff I have the VNAV and the LNAV and AUTO THROTTLE ARMED. And then when I reach 10,000 I then press the AP and i then I am now on the FMC flight plan. I might add on this flight I am not flying useing ATC of any sort; just plain flying. Now in the real world of flying the 737 how does the pilots fly the 737 on takeoff useing the ATC - RC and when do t…

Hi, I have found out that the V speeds do not work on the British Airways Virtual. I have the same panel state loaded for all PMDG aircraft and the FMS is set correctly and all takeoff speeds work correctly with the original PMDG 737 NGX - the NO VSPDS indication on the PFD goes off when I LSK the V speeds, and I get the correct takeoff callouts. However with the BA Virtual the NO VSPDS indicator in the PFD remains and the takeoff speeds are not called. Other then the paints difference, all other settings are the same for both versions. HAs anyone else had this problem with BA Virtual? If so how did you fix it? Thanks Rob

Hi, I have experimented with the iPad app Voice Dream to have the checklists read out loud. In the editor I have each sentence paused by \Pau=1000\ or \Pau=6000\ for 1 or 10 seconds pause. The problem is that you have to do that in the editor of Voice Dream because you cannot prepare checklists on the PC with these pauses. Have somebody ideas about text to speech for checklists? (Not Fs2Crew) Frans

I have just bought the and installed the737NGX, and from what I have seen so far it is pretty amazing. I am however having a problem with tutorial 1 and I hope someone can help. I set up the in the CDU, and everything seems fine. When I come to set up the MCP, VNAV will not arm. If I continue with flight, activate the autopilot, the aircraft climbs to the initial altitude of 5000ft, but as VNAV is not active will not go any higher. Has anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong, I assume I must be setting the CDU up incorrectly, but I am sure I have followed the tutorial correctly. In fact I have tried 3 times, being really careful to follow the instructions to th…

Hi all. I did several approaches requiring PT or course reversal and I noticed that when I load such approach it looks like it was flipped over in ND. In the example below for VOR D RWY 02 in TGU, the procedure requires to turn right from D7.0 onto heading 243. I loaded this approach in FMC and it looked backwards. It shows I will pass D5.0 VOR then FV02 fix and then right turn to the loop and she was actually flying that way. So basically it won’t be really a PT. I noticed this happens very very often. I asked pilots at work about this issue and they said it should not happen in real world. Any idea why it happens and how to tweak it? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I've got a problem with something very new...the Livery Manager. But I just wasn't able to find a problem similar to mine anywhere. When starting the manager on win7 64bit as admin theres always the message "Unable to locate FSX installation!" After inserting it manuall, choosing the version and livery to install and pressing "select livery to install" im getting an error that says "Oops! This variant is not installed". As I said I'm running it as admin and the aircraft.cfg isn't read only and in properties every permission to write in the cfg is given. Unfortunately in the meanwhile I got to aggressive to go on with failure search :( Thanks in advanc…

Hi I want to do some polar flying and know I have to be in True Heading up there. I just can't find the switch to change between True & Magnetic. Is there a switch anywhere? If not how does a real 737NG fly in these areas? Tony

Anyone shed any light, why all of a sudden after having done C&D's pre-flights in the -700 and -800 versions, in the -900, I get a klaxon horn blasting away merrily, but annoyingly? Tried to mute it, no joy and I've tried to do a Search here in the top right Search Box, but the search just hangs going nowhere.

Hi everybody, i know PMDG doesn't support P3D, the mine it's just a curiosity....: a lot of simmer installed NGX into P3D, and i did it using the estonian migration tool anyone else, who installed NGX into P3D, has experiencing high VAS when using NGX into P3D ?? My VAS is more high in P3D when using NGX than when i use it in FSX, so often i can't complete a flight due to out of memory expecially if i fly NGX in ORBX scenery installed in P3D This high VAS doesn't happen when Flying with any other aircrafts so my question is only if anyone else experiencing the same my issue thank you

The PMDG tutorial1 ( Gatwick to Amsterdam ) explains several methods to take off: After reaching 40 % N1 do: - Press CTRL + SHIFT + G - Click on the TOGA button on the thrust lever. I find this is hard to do as the button is hidden when the throttle advances. I found that I can advance the throttle to 40 % of N1, then advance it to the maximum and to my surprise the take off excutes. Threfore I wonder what the most realistic method is.( say in the real world ) Is it possible the TOGA button only works when actually doing a go around ? Hubert Werni

I've been trying to save a certain state that I get into while using FS2Crew (button control). However, two things aren't saved, no matter what, and that's the APU, which should be on, and the Yaw damper, which also should be on. When I load the Short state, that comes with the 737NGX, the APU and are both on so apparently it IS possible to save a state with the APU on. Anyone knows why I can't save my own FS2Crew state with the APU and Yaw damper on? The state I am trying to save is the one which you get when you run the entire FS2Crew preflight sequence and I save the state after the co pilot has said 'I am ready for the checklist' which is the Preflight checklist. …

Hi there, I had this bizarre issue while approaching Gatwick today at VATSIM, and landed a bit rough because of a small slow down on finals. Basically, I was flying at sunset and as it happens, PMDG likes for some reason to refresh panels at night. They basically turn off for a second and turn on again, almost looking like a refresh of the dials and such. Unfortunately, this causes a lag and it only happens at night. I'm not sure if anyone experienced this, but is there a way to avoid this from happening? It just incredibly ruins your landing

Hi there, There's no end to my issues with the 737, and I'm evidently still learning Today, after takeoff, I was climbing with LNAV and VNAV onto FL370. The maximum FMC could handle was FL378, so I entered 37000 ft in the INIT REF page, activated and departed. I began to climb, everything was fine, AP activated, it was going all damn smooth. Eventually at around TOC, speed started to fall until I received BUFFET ALERT. Presumably, there has been a lot of topics about the buffet alert, fine, but why does my speed fall to a critical 170kts and below when I did absolutely nothing different to my previous flights where the VNAV has been functioning properly? The wind…

I recently reinstaled my fsx, and NGX also. Since then, on take off - i press TOGA and i move thrust levers(saitek)in max. forward position. I've always done so without any problems. But since last reinstall, manual thrust allways overide autothrust for a very short time - engines goes to maximum thrust, above 100% for a second or two, and than returns to N1 limit. I have controls assigned and calibrated via FSUIPC like allways. In FSUIPC i have cheched "exclude throttle set" and in NGX FMC options i have selected "NEVER" in "A/T Manual Override" section. That should be enough, but maybe i missed something... Any ideas before i reinstall NGX?

Hello. Today I made a flight to LGTS Thessaloniki, DVOR 34 approach. Thought that Ill try out IAN approach, but didnt go as planned. Now my question is that, for IAN to work do I need to have G/S on-off displayed? If its not available then theres no IAN? I saw slope marking on on legs page and all but in the end there was no FAC or G/P annunciators. Does IAN work only on some approaches?

I did not see this discussed before. But I just saw the movie Flight and I know the 1st thing we all did was to try to flip a jet over and fly inverted. I know that was a MD80, but is the PMDG 737 flight model accurate in an inverted state? I am not sure what goes into a flight model, but do the equations fall apart in inverted flight? My test flight on the 737NGX and the LD767 showed very contorlled flight in the inverted position. The 737 seemed to require more forward yoke to keep the plane level (than the 767) and I was even able to gain altitude in the inverted position. I amnot sure this would be possible possible in a real commercial plane.

Hello everyone, as the title says, why does my NGX have a climb rate of a stone? This happens on a medium short haul flight (when wing tanks are full, load percentage is around 75%), it has a climb rate of 500 fpm and to get to FL380 or something similar it climbs to it, but by the time I reach that altitude or about to reach it, its my top of decent. My thrust mode is set to CLB (puts on around 90% N1), and to add to that problem, during cruise when my speed is low, cruise mode is unable to reach that speed (normally cruise maximum is at 89% N1) What am I doing wrong? This has only started now, as I have been off the 737 for a month or so, it happened a few times in t…
