Hi Guys, Im a little late to the game with the NGX and FSX, having migrated from FS9! The NGX is amazing, and after a little trial and error i've got it set up perfect. I do however have a problem, which im sure is my fault so im hoping someone cant point me right..... im using the throttletek 737 quadrant which works flawlessly, however it takes very little lever movement from idle to spool up to 30/40% for taxing. Thats not a major issue, however when landing, i start to flare and pull the levers back, but they dont seem to drop past around 35% which means i cant use the reversers. Although I am a bit embarresed to tell you this and that I didn't think of it before I thought I would post it for anyone else having the same problem I've had. My problem has been that after T/D I've been forced to use the speedbrakes more often than not and looking at my descent rate it has mostly been somewhere around 1000-1200 ft/min and with the speedbrakes fully extended maybe somewhere between 1500-2000 ft/min. This is in the 738 with winglets. I did manage to get a little bit better descent profiles by putting in forcasted winds and use of TAI into the FMC but still this didn't fix my issue 100%. Just wondering what this means...My amber FMC light is lit, and the FMC is displaying the message "Scanning DME Fail". I looked up "FMC/CDU Alerting Message" in the Quick Reference Guide (Chap. 11.6), and it just says to "Take action as needed by the message". I checked the "Failures" Menu and it says there are no current active failures, so it must be something I did or something. I'm sure I can just clear it out, but if I did something to cause this, I'd like to know what I did, so I don't repeat the mistake in the future. Anybody know what this means and/or what causes it?

I was coming in for a landing at Kona from KSEA. I was flying a 737-900 and had about 200 gallons of fuel on the middle tank left and right tanks. At about 600 ft and about 100 feet from the runway (or a little more) my right engine failed and i was forced to land on one engine. Im just wondering why this happened and what caused it to happen. Also once we figure out why it happened I would like to know how can I prevent it in the future.

Hi, on my last realworld flight in the 737-800WL the plane was not full (about 80-100 passengers) and 9 people was moved to the back before we could leave the gate. I was wondering how the pilots calculated that the CG was out of limits and how they got the information . Do they only use the FMC?? The plane was 45 minutes late so they were in a hurry with about 15-20min for a next runup. Thanks

Started flying on VATSIM a few months ago and last night I was doing a standard approach to Heathrow via the LAMB3R arrival and the controller was asking me to be at a certain altitude by passing a waypoint, I know this is very normal but I could not for the life of me find out how to instruct the FMC to do this. A/P was engaged with VNAV and LNAV, MCP altitude was set to the altitude I wanted it to go to. And I tried to enter the altitude into the FMC and select the waypoint in the LEGS page, (That seemed like the logical way to go about this). The numbers on there changed, but the plane didnt do anything. Am I going the wrong way about this or..? I ended up having …

Hi!Had a new experience with the NGX -800 today (after flying it very frequently since release). The problem is that the FMC can't calculate ETA anymore. The ETA times in the FMC is just running wild, continously scrolling thru numbers on both the CDU and ND. For what it is worth, this started after I installed UTX Europe earlier today. I am no computer expert, but I don't understand why UTX would interfere with the NGX FMC though. But maybe some of you have an idea? Restart of PC does not help. Have had it two out of of two flights now. Everything else is normal. No faults activated.Need help.Thanks

Hello Simmers, I got some problems right here: 1. Why always activation window pops up when i load the 737-800/900NGX? Even though I have an original activation code. 2. After I put it into the activation window, I continued the free flight process as usual until the aircraft was in the parking gate. When the aircraft was pushing back, i did engine start procedure, but I got the second well problem. Well, for the engine 2 when N1 rotation was observed, N2 reached 26-28 and the start lever was clicked into the idle potition, N2 didn't increase to normal acceleration, it just stayed on 26-28 RPM. Hi there I have the NGX. Now what happens is say I am flying at 35000ft altimiter set by pressing B and double cheked with ATC. ATC will then say I am 300 odd feet above 35000ft. This also happens with other aircraft i use. Does anyone know what is wrong? Also say I land at EGLL park up and save the flight for another time to fly the return leg the aircraft always re-loads to the standard new flight setup with engines running etc. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem aswell? Is there anyway to increase the color intensity of the magenta vertical directional indicator along with the horizontal glideslope indicator. When manually flying an approach, it is difficult to see these indicators as they appear faded. Regards, jen noullet

Hey Pilots, got some well problems with the NGX...just did a short AB flight from EDNY to EDDW. the first problem was that my climb rate started increasing dramaticly to 6000 (!) ft/min suddenly! the plane also wouldnt reach the cruise (37000ft) if i wouldnt help with the manual climb rate. it sometimes just goes to 200 ft/min with VNAV and LNAV. no idea why. the other problem is that i guess i´m having some FPS problems, i mean i´m running an i7 3,5ghz. and i sometimes only get (13fps!!) in the air, at i dont know, 13000ft. it goes from 13 fps up to maybe 35 in the VC..maybe some tweaks missing in the cfg? (its already tweaked!) here a sample of the climb rate.

Hi there. I need some help, as the fonts used in the HSI, PDF, HUG and lower display, has disapeared after reinstaling FSX. The fonts used in the FMC and for the autopilot is still there. I hope anyone know which fonts PMDG use for the 737 NGX. Best regards Bjarne Otto

Flying on vatsim approach to KLAS I inadvertently punched in the wrong Star and then tried to correct it but ended up with a route that looked like a plate of spaghetti And it was busy and controller becoming inpatient uggghh.. What is the correct procedure for clearing wrong data from the fmc?

Since I installed my new GTX670 card last week, whenever I attempt a flight I get the loading screen - ie. the black screen with a white box and black progress bar that you see at the start of a flight - every few minutes. It is worse on the ground, about every 2 or 3 minutes; just taxiing to the runway from the gate at EGLL it happened 8 times. It's a little less frequent after take-off, about once every 5 minutes, and when I reach cruise altitude, it just happens maybe once every 15 minutes. Has anyone else ever experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the cause? It is driving me nuts! Kevin O'Connell

Does anyone have a problem with the sound in the 737-700 upgrade. On landing it sounds like the engines are screaming away. On engine shut down it's still going press pause and press pause again and all is well.

Hello everyone! I've noticed some problem with the thrust levers in my NGX. When I start descend in VNAV mode, thrust levers don't come to idle and stay a little above idle position. When I press F1 key, levers come to idle for a while and then back to previous position. As a result, the aircraft accelerate too much, and doesn't maintain programmed IAS speed for descend. The problem dissapear somewhere below FL300 (I don't remember exactly). The most strange is that even I turn off the autothrottle or change MCP mode to vertical speed, the problem doesn't dissapear and I suspect there is something wrong with my NGX or FSX, but I'd like you to make me sure before I start …

Need some help.....recently planned KORD-KIAD with MGW.GIBBZ One Arrival. When I loaded the MGW.GIBBZ transition the FMC displayed two (2) error messages - Vert Path Full and VNAV Disconnect. When I went back and manually loaded the transition the two errors reappeared when I got up to and loaded the JIMVE waypoint. I also noticed when the I loaded the next waypoint MILLK in the plan mode it appears the waypoint is not positioned correctly in accordance with the transition chart. Hi all Apologies for posting this here if it should be in the CTD forum but it appears to be NGX specific. I get a consistent error (as per the below) whenever I choose 'End Flight' within FSX. It works as expected with the 'vanilla' Microsoft planes, but errors when using the NGX. This wouldn't be an issue for me personally, however, I use add-ons that sometimes require a clean End Flight exit. I have also found that if you choose the NGX in Free Flight menu, and then go to settings, then try to click Free Flight again, I receive the same DLL error message. I have tried all of the supposed fixes I can find on forums such as running as administrator, importing the UI…
