Hello all, I downloaded the Qantas Airways (New Livery) repaint for the NGx -800WL. The registration in the aircraft.cfg is ZK-ZQE, while the registration on the paint itself is VH-VZA (in the back, under the wing and on the front-wheel hatch). The name 'Port Augusta' corresponds to -VZA rather than -ZQE. Can anyone confirm this? Small mistake I know, but that also makes for an easy fix. Ha!

Hi, I am tend to get a little over compulsive about little things, so I apologize if this post confuses you. If you look at the NGX straight on in spot view, you will notice that the frames around the side cockpit windows are very jagged, and on the tops and bottoms of the side windows the frames appear to shimmer. This also seems to happen with the cabin windows, but I'm now worried about them. Is there a way to get the simmering/ jagged lines on the cockpit window frames to go away? Do I have to go in and cut the frame away? I really don't know. If anyone could help, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hello, Sorry if this has been addressed in the past. I'm relatively new to using FS build and AS2012 with PMDG. The 737s FMC page asks for a CRZ WND entry. Is it better to use the TOD wind or the average wind component for the CRZ winds entry? I did some flights using AS2012, and the winds aloft from AS2012 were not as accurate inflight when compared to the AS flight log predictions. This affected the ETE. What method do you use to connect AS2012 wind predictions and PMDG CDU planning? Thanks Kristof

Does someone know what the logic is behind the cabin lighting setting when set to Auto? Checking the doc it says having it set to Auto will result in the airplane's internal logic determines the brightness according to phase of flight, time of day etc but would like to know a little bit more exact. Reason I ask is I've noticed that for instance when parked at my destination with a cold & dark a/c and during nighttime the cabin lighting remains ON which feels a bit odd to me when the a/c except for the cabin lighting is cold & dark.

Greetings: I need clarification on straight in V NAV approaches. I will try and be succinct; I obviously lack knowledge in this approach type. (1) I notice that the L NAV approach course is slightly off center to the runway alignment. Is this normal for a V NAV Approach ? (2) The only way to realign with the runway is to push the LOC button on the MCP. Is it correct procedure to have the LOC button activates during a L NAV Approach? (3) RNP as per the LEGS page of the FMC during approach reads 0.30 / 0.05. Is the 0.30 the offset the L NAV is reading for the runway ? Hi folks, partially the issue was already discussed... http://forum.avsim.net/topic/6476-small-fins-in-b737-800-tail-cone/ but not all: 1. There are the fins on top of the tail cone. They follow the airflow, and therefore I don't believe that they are vortex generators as brought forward in the thread above, rather to streamline the airflow. But why? In German we say the lolly is suck or the cookie is swallowed... why do they need them milliseconds before the flow layers leave the skin? 2. Quick procedural question for ETOPS certified aircraft: For ETOPS flights, one of the required procedures is to cycle the fuel crossfeed valve from closed to open and back to closed one hour prior to arrival. Is this for flights conducted under ETOPS? Or is it required for every flight on an ETOPS certified aircraft? Seems to me the latter would make sense (since an aircraft might fly a non-ETOPS sector prior to an ETOPS one and you'd want the cross-feed to be working before the ETOPS operation), but since its an FAA rule it doesn't have to necessarily be logical Any real-world operators with knowledge? I jumped into the 737ngx this morning and my panel gauges are all funny. I went into the performance manager and it says unknown verisions were detected do you want to replace the variants reset so I clicked yes and that box just keeps on popping up. Here is a picture.

When the descent path fluctuates like this what could cause that? I've seen this a couple of times but I never really understood what causes it. In this case I checked both my legs and winds and all seemed normal. Hello fellows, i know, it sounds wierd, but i noticed that before the departure when i fills the fix page i notice a significant fps frop i don't know why?! its so wierd! another thing if i may, i am flying around payware airports only, every time i am at them or approaching them the fps drops to 15-22 is that normal? it's difficult to land with low frames how can i increase them? when i am climbing or at cruise i am getting 30 easily (locked to 30) any thoughts? cheers.

So, I departed JFK in wonderful weather conditions (1 1/2SM) and as I was approaching my cruise, I switched to windowed view then this happened: Last time I checked, none of our waypoints had any alcohol in them :lol: And again, I wasn't sure whether PMDG actually modelled it this way and all the prior was a dream (damn!) Back to full screen and again to windowed - we have a fixed NGX at FL370 inbound to EGLL! I'm still curious as to what happened though - any ideas? Cheers, Luke

hi, my "problem" is not the autothrottle itself. next to the lights test switch, there is some sort of panel with three lights: A/P, A/T and FMC. The A/T is always flashing during approach, but especially when i select a new flap setting. EXAMPLE: i select flaps 1, then reduce my speed to the "number 1" that appears on the speed tape. Some weeks ago I encountered a problem concerning loading savegames. When loading a saved game, a view of the cockpit flashed up for a very short instance before that fsx-loading screen showed up. When loading was finished, the cockpit was all dark und no systems (not even battery) were working. The green bar, counting down from 20 until the ngx systems are powered up, is also missing. I reinstalled my whole FSX-System including FSX and REX and everything was fine and working. This evening FSX crashed to desktop and I finally get that same problem with loading savegames. Hello Fellow NGX lovers! I have been trying to fix this problem now for days but nothing I do seem to work. I did a search on the forum for such issue but came up with nothing so am hoping someone here would be kind enough to advise on how I can fix this problem. Its a fictional livery we use at our VA.As you can see in the Pictures, the cuts between 1,2 and 3 are visable using my paint scheme.If I was to use a solid paint, the lines dissapear. To the best of my knowledge (I am no expert at PhotoShop) the cuts are 4096x4096. I used to fly 600/700 aircrafts (CD version 1.3) since years, and, last week, a friend installed an 800/900 aircrafts (CD version 1.1) over it for my hangar improvment. Since, my 600/700 aircrafts don't operate as they used to do. Very often Installation comes without avionics on the panel, but blank and Overhead inactive! I must install the MS CESSNA 172 first, actuate the avionics, then install the 600/700 aircrafts to chance to get the avionics back on the panel. But sometimes, it does not work at all! I searched for this issue but was unable to find a post on this. So, here is my issue. I'm looking to configure my NGX so that the aircraft and its panel will display properly across an AMD Eyefinity 6 monitor display. My particular setup includes 5 monitors for the outside scenery and one monitor for the instrument panel. I looked at the files in the B737-800 aircraft folder concentrating on the aircraft.cfg files and the panel folder. So I fly the NG for AA, which uses the HUD and I love it, I've learned how to understand everything I'm seeing and use it my advantage but I have a couple of questions. I see we have 3 modes to display. PRI, IMC, VMC. I noticed that VMC gives you no Flight Directors and very little amounts of info, I assuming so that you can see clearly for Visual approaches and such. At what other times would you use this mode, in cruise or visual approaches, do pilots only use it during Handflying or during automation. When I got home today I got on Flight Aware and found a flight that I could do on FSX. The flight was from KPHX to KABQ, and the route was SJN6 SJN KRKEE1. I loaded up FSX and started the flight. When I started to select my arrival for KABQ in the departure/arrival page the STAR "KRKEE1" was missing. So is there a way to fix it or even add that STAR to the FMC?
