Hi all, I've seen very little said about this but I really wanted to come on here and sing the praises of Virtual Avionics' virtual CDU for the NGX/iPad! I can live without much of the hardware available such as MCPs and radio stacks etc, but with this type of aircraft we spend so much time with our eyes on the CDU and so much time inputting data, that no matter how excellent our virtual screen cockpits are, having external hardware to manage this task is SO helpful! I saw a previous offering for the iPad from another company and was not very impressed but this one is the biz, so don't confuse the two of them! Hi, I'm using a Thrustmaster HOTAS throttle as my quadrant (because it's what I have!) and I would like to somehow map the fuel cut off levers to the EAC and RAD ALT (2 position toggle switches on the HOTAS), to simulate the fuel cut off levers. I've had success getting a number of other functions to work well, such as switches for flap selection, TOGA etc and an axis for spoilers but I can't work out a way of doing this! The key mapping feature within the CDU only maps keyboard keys, not joystick buttons and I can't find anything to map the switches to in FSX. Are the cut off levers actually an FSX 'item' or are they purely a simulated element within the …

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my PMDG 737NGX: When I lift the ailerons, the animation isn't smooth, it's choppy (sorry, in german: "ruckelig"), also the gear lever, or the trim ... actually all animations, exept flaps. My Computer is able to run the NGX with very good frames, I can play totally smooth ... Anyone an idea? Thank you Tim

This is my first post with AVSIM so I apologise if my etiquette is incorrect. I have a problem when setting up configuring shortcuts in the CDU this may not be peculiar to PMDG but this is the only instance where I have experience any form of problems with Flight Sim, my software is FSX with acceleration and I have EZCA installed. Sorry, this topic may be made 100000 times but yeah. When i use my PDMG aircraft i get really low fps and withouth that aircraft i get really much fps. My pc specs: Windows 7 64 BIT Intel core i7 2.67 GHz 2.67 GHz Ram: 6GB Video card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Fsx is stored on a disk of 1.8 tb and still 1tb left. Please help.

On previous PMDG aircraft like the MD-11 and 744 there was an option to filter airports from the ND and database based runway length. Is there a feature like this on the NGX? My ND sometimes gets cluttered with airports I relay would not consider to flying a 737 into. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I have been having a little problem with the 737-800 on short finals, when at about 500ft. The vref set and speed matching it on auto throttle speed mode, the aircraft suddenly speeds up to about 20-30 knots above. Making the aircraft hard to regain control. Anyone else have this problem?

As an example let's say I get to my cruise st FL350 the plane goes into crz mode for a speed of 300, but 10 min later my plane speed is at 200 and I'm getting speed warning. Any help would be awesome Thanks

Hi, I've located the Panel Cfg file under Simobjects and am having trouble saving changes to the file. I am changing the Views settings and when I go to save the file it asks me if I want to replace the file. I check yes and then it comes back with a message saying Access Denied. I am running as administrator. Any ideas? Thanks Rob

Hi, I was wondering what the best was to set up Separate reverse levers for my saitek pro throttle quadrant? Right now I have the set through FSUIPC, as a direct to FSUIPC for reverse 1 For one lever and reverse 2 for the other. Also, i was having the same problem when I had the reversers Assigned to a button, after I touchdown, I would press the button To activate the reverse thrust, it wouldn't activate, I had to wold the button for a while before it activated. I I usually reduse the throttles to idle at at 20ft for touchdown but I'm not sure, usually at touchdown the N1 it at 30% or so.

I apologize in advance if this is covered in one of the operating manuals, I haven't had time to actually browse through those yet (just picked up the 737 recently as my 2nd payware for FSX (owned many on FS2002/2004)). In following the tutorials I noticed the procedure to turn on vnav and lnav to "arm" them before takeoff. I'm curious if it's acceptable procedure to arm vnav and turn on "hdg" hold (which actually turns on, not armed in the PFD) instead if I'm using FSX ATC which wants to vector you to your flightplan since it doesn't support SIDS. Then of course I'd turn on the MCP in the air. Or is it better to leave HDG off until in the air as well. I have no…

Will the PMDG Ops Center be available for 737NGX-only customers? As I understand the situation, it was released for the T7 with 737NGX capability. I have no plans of purchasing the T7 though [burn me at the stake for heresy against the most bestest addon producer... ever!!!... but I barely have enough time for the 737NGX].

I have had the PMDG NGX 737 for quite sometime now and it is a fantastic sim, I am not a real world pilot and having never flown a real aircraft there is one thing that concerns me about flying FSX using ATC, after programing the flight plan in the FMC I notice that ATC in FSX seems to be unaware of my flight plan and I find myself being vectored away from the route I entered into the flight plan, so I was wondering how real world pilots deal with this?......if they program the their flight plan into the FMC do they weave back and forth from ATC altitudes given back to their flight plan entered into the FMC?.....I just find it annoying that I cant seem to use ATC wi…

How do you change Lbs to KG in with the cargo setting? I like using Lbs, but in Europe people use KG. also TOPCAT seems to use KG. Another question could be how do you change the all the KG units into Lbs in TOPCAT. many thanks Jools

Hello! I got bored a bit and started playing around with photoshop for the first time in a long long time. Didn't start with the intention to create a full repaint, but after playing around for 30 minutes I am actually thinking of creating this repaint. Big problem is, there aren't really any high resolution images of this wonderfull livery around on the web. Right now I have to guess a lot of lines. Like I said , this is a really quick start, only 30 minutes of hastily work or so. But I really need more and better images to recreate it better. The green mountain is pentooled quite quick.
